LMFAO has called it quits today, according to news.com.au.

The ultimate party rockers (Redfoo and Sky Blu) achieved moderate fame with their debut album Party Rock. The duo then released their sophomore album Sorry For Party Rocking and after the lead single Party Rock Anthem took off, they really shot into global stardom.
â€I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years. And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time,†said Redfoo. “I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we’re always family,†he said. “He’ll always be my nephew, I’ll always be his uncle.â€
If nothing else, LMFAO will be remembered for some of their important contributions to pop culture, which include things like the wiggle dance and the shufflebot. Their influence on music, pop culture and the “party scene†was very prevalent and their presence will be missed.

I’ve always enjoyed LMFAO and I’m definitely saddened by this news. They really ushered in the “party rock†genre and took it to incredible heights. I’ve also seen them live and I’ll admit, they put on a great show.

It seems that the duo hasn’t been around long enough to warrant a break up and I feel that they still have a lot left in them. Unfortunately though, Redfoo doesn’t feel the same.

On the bright side, at least we can still look forward to hearing more “party rock†music.
â€All the music that I’m going to make is always going to be LMFAO-ish … I love all the topics that we talk about,†he said. “I was really passionate about bringing party music to the world, so I will always be making some kind of party music,†said Redfoo.

So, what do you think? Is this the end of the “party rock†era? Are you upset by this news? Let us know in the comments.

Well fuck, I actually liked LMFAO... This sucks.

They would have both made huge money from their last album, in Australia alone they sold well over a million singles in the space of a year which is massive in a small market like Australia, and so they probably don't need it anymore. They can take some time away, spend their money, relax and work on any side projects that they have. Maybe in five years they will decide to come back together for another run.

I do not care at all about this group. They are just a waste and very glad that they are over and done.

It's not like it's a huge catastrophe, I mean, they were good, but the mainstream music culture will continue running smoothly without them. They were good, I've seen them play live, I've been on their concert in February, it was fun. What else should I say.

Oh the band with those obnoxious party tracks? Yeah this will do wonders for my ears not having to put up with them anymore.

I laughed at how this article tried to make them seem like they had some lasting impact on pop music.
