Jon Jones vs Rampage Jackson @ UFC 135

This was one of the most hyped fights in the UFC. People honestly thought Rampage was going to take the title from Jones :lmao Fuck man.

Anyways, the first round starts with Jones doing some weird shit basically crawling around on the mat i think just fucking with Rampage, but it just Draws Jackson in and Jones throws on a clinch and pushes Page up to the cage, Jones would land a few knees to the mid section and Jones would attempt a Guillotine choke here as well but Jackson rolled out of it but ate a forearm for his efforts. Fighter head back to the center of the octagon and Jones throws a front kick to the body of Rampage but the fight ended up getting back into the clinch after a little bit. Ref splits them up after a bit. They start in the middle of the octagon and Jones would throw some leg kicks and a few jabs Rampage started to limp a little bit. To end the round Jones landed his awesome spinning elbow.

Jon Jones is the clear cut winner here of this first round, fuck off Rampage.

Off to round number two, Rampage is having a hard time dealing with Jone's MASSIVE reach advantage of 11.5 inches, Rampage would try for a clinch and Jones would stuff it and bring the fight back to the center of the octagon. We're off to 3 minutes left in the round, and Rampage is just swinging and missing, awesome head movement by Jones here and he's using his reach advantage perfectly in this fight up to this point. Two minutes left in the round, and Jones is landing leg kick after leg kick to Jackson and he's getting more creative with them. Page is clearly frustrated, he has no clue what to do against Jones he's just standing their waiting for Jones to come in, unfortunately that doesn't work out to well when Jon has a huge reach advantage, Page would drop down and go for a triangle to end the round too bad for him he locked it in with 2 second left in the round.

J.Jones wins this second round also.

THIRD ROUND NOW: Rampage comes into this round and starts mixing some things up, he's not being one denominational anymore he's throwing some nice combos out, but eventually he would stop as Jones would take Jackson down and hit a few elbows and grabbed full mount RAMPAGE is in trouble now, still 3 minutes left in the fight and BOOM Quinton pops back up and now Rampage is bleeding a bit from some JONES BONES elbows, and would eat a front kick right to the chin Anderson Silva style, unfortunately it didn't have a whole lot of power behind it.

Rampage is back to just swinging at anything like he was in the first round, He has no clue how to handle Jones and is losing this round also. Right at the end of the round Jones landed a flying knee on Page.

After three rounds, Jones is up by 3 rounds although this round was a bit closer.

TIME FOR THE FOURTH ROUND

Rampage ate a jab and you could tell he got hurt from it, he backed right off of Jones after it. Jones would get into clinch and pin Page up against the cage, would drop down and take Jackson's back and put on a rear naked choke

AND AS MIKE GOLDBERG WOULD SAY, IT IS ALL OVER!

Flawless fight by Jones, Rampage looked like shit no surprise there though.

Winner by submission and still light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones

Ben Henderson vs Clay Guida @ UFC On Fox Prelims

Number one contender's fight to then Champion Frankie Edgar. I think I've made my opinion on Ben Henderson pretty clear the last year or so, he's my favorite fighter in the UFC. I'm alright with Clay Guida too, think he's kind of weird looking and not all their but he's alright.

This was on the prelims of the first UFC show on Fox that only had one fight on the main card which of course was Dos Santos vs Velasquez, UFC must have felt like dumb asses for not having this fight on the main card.

Both fighters had really stepped up their game in recent months leading up to this fight.

And we're off to the first round, it starts with the two meeting in the center of the octagon. The two fighters would trade blows back and forth Guida would get rocked and Henderson and Guida would go back and forth in a flurry of punches early in the first round. Clay Guida can really take a shot. Guida is trying to get the tack down but Benson is so hard to get down on the mat but Clay would get him down for about 3 seconds before Ben was able to pop back up. From this point Benson would go for a Guillotine but Clay was able to roll away and get out of the sub attempt. The two fighters are in the clinch pushed up against the cage and trading knees, and forearms back and forth. Down to 90 seconds left in this first round, and BENSON lands a superman bunch but Guida would return it with a flying knee and drop BENDO briefly.

I really don't know who won this first round, it was back and forth i think it was even, but I'd give the VERY slight edge to Clay.

SECOND ROUND NOW!

Ben would start off with a knee to the head, but Guida would catch it and hold on and go for the take down and would get it. Ben would Pop back up though and get caught in a choke, he would escape and now Benson has top mount over Guida. Clay tries to pop up and Ben hits him with a knee to the chin, really good back and forth wrestling here, and good strikes from both fighters.

BENSONS' Knees are fucking nasty, those things look like they hurt like hell you can see Guida in some serious pain with every one that Ben lands.

Down to 2 minutes left in the fight, Ben is winning this round right now, the crowd is solidly behind Gudia though. 90 seconds left and Guida would go for a spinning back fist and miss horribly and go flying on his ass , Ben would jump all over it BENSON takes Clay's back and would lock on a body triangle and attempt a rear naked choke he knew it wasn't going to happen so he just laid on his back and punched Clay in the face a few times.

Much better round for Ben, obvious winner in this second round.

Off to the third and final round of this epic fight, Ben comes in with a jab and lands it Guida would counter and miss with one of his own and would eat a head kick. Guida is missing most of his shots, excellent head movement by Benson, the two go back into the clinch with Ben landing a few knees right to the midsection of Guida, who would go for a take down but Ben would stop it and go back into the clinch.

Benson Henderson is landing shot after shot, Guida keeps missing everything he throws out their, he would go for a kick and get taken down. We're down to 2 minutes left into the fight and both fighter are in the middle of the octagon with Ben Henderson ontop of Guida who would turn and get the back of Clay and would attempt another rear naked choke would have it in for a few seconds but Guida wiggled out of it. Both fighters are standing on top, and Guida would get a take down and would try for a guillotine of his own, but Ben has such good defense and it wouldn't matter that much as up until this point GUIDA HADN'T Done SHIT. Then with about 10 seconds left in the fight Ben would pop up and hit a flurry of shots on Ben.

THE END. Amazing fight, and it should've been on the main card.

And your winner via decision, BENSON HENDERSON.

On a side note when i do these reviews, I'm watching and typing these up at the same exact time and this was such a fast fight i missed so much just trying to keep up with the pace, but i think i captured the most important details.

I remember watching this fight. Guida used up so much energy just trying to move around and keep pace that he was slowed down a lot by the end.

Matt Hammil vs Alexander Gustaffson-UFC 133 Prelims

I've always been a fan of Matt Hammil and I think that Gustaffson is the future of the light heavyweight divison, think he poses a threat against Jon Jones.

As we start off the first round we see Matt shoot in with a quick punch, but Gustaff is able to keep distance from Hammil. Hammil's strength is wrestling, and so far he isn't going with his strength and is keeping the fight standing. Gustaff lands an uppercutt and it looks like it rocks Matt a little bit but the fight conitues on. Alex is keeping his distance still but coming in every now and then and landing a few nice shots.

A minute and 30 seconds left in the first round and Hammil cuts Gustaffson right under the eye with a nasty jab. Neither man has gone for a take down in this fight up to this point and time.

That's the end of round one, hard to say who won Gustaffson got cut up but Hammill was rocked a few times but able to recover.

TIME FOR THE SECOND ROUND!

And it starts off with Hammil coming in for a few good shots, but Gustaff was able to shake him off and lan a knee to the mid section. About a minute into the round and Hammill is starting to eat more and more shots and kicks Gustaffson is really starting to turn it up and take it to Matt. He's hitting him with shot after shot and now Hammil is bleeding as well. 2 minutes and 30 seconds left in this round and Matt catches an uppercut to the chin, and Hammil falls, Gustaffson jumps all over it and lands countless shots. The ref has no choice but to call it a fight, Hammil is bleeding pretty bad now.

Winner by TKO; Alexander Gustaffson.

Also like to point out that after this fight, Matt Hammil decided to retire from MMA.

Fedor vs Arlovski - Affliction: (insert corny PPV name)

Fedor fan: "hey look guys, Fedor isn't overrated, he beat the great Andrei Arlovski"

Person who knows his MMA: "are you fucking serious, Arlovski is a bum"

Fedor fan: "but he was ranked #2, how could he be a bum....everyone knows rankings dont lie"

Person who knows his MMA: "he lost back to back fights against Tim Sylvia and had been KO'd 4 fucking times before he even fought Fedor, you tard....plus he has a chin made of fragile china"

Fedor fan: "but...but...#2 in THE RANKINGS!!1"

Anyway, Fedor was getting schooled by this fraud until Arlovski had a seizure of some kind which let his brain to tard out and attempt some really shit flying knee, which Fedor obviously saw coming from 10miles away and tapped him in his face and knocked him clean out, cabbaged. The fact this is Fedor's best win kind of says it all about his credentials as alleged GOAT HW. SPOILER - He isnt.

If anyone ever trys to defend Fedor Emelianenko using this fight, slap them in their face. (not too hard, they might have Arlovski-itis)

Stumbled across some bullshit on Youtube while looking for Sasha Grey shit.

Big Nog vs Mir
I forgot how awesome this fight really was, and would encourage anyone to watch it/again. Nog looked back to his old self early on, landing some brutal shots which rocked Mir (his fragile chin really showed in this fight btw), then whatever happened to get them on the floor. Mir started working for a kimura, while still dazed, which led to a series of fantastic transitions and finally to Mir snapping Nogs arm off. Rousey eat yr heart out eh, this shit was NASTYYYYY.

Bigfoot vs Velasquez
Jesus f Christ what a bloodbath. Bigfoot must of been taking tips from Ric Flair in the art of the bladejob, because he turned the canvas red. Total squash, havent seen a more comprehensive beating in a while. Just what Cain needed after JDS embarassed him on Fox.

Babalu vs Dave Heath
Kind of nasty beating Babalu put on this guy. Looked like a total badass with all the blood over him after the fight though, the choke was nasty as hell. Cut a heel promo after the finish and said he kept the choke locked in b/c Heath is "a motherfucker who need to learn respect so I put him to sleep", and got roundly booed. JOSH THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME BARNETT was in his corner btw.

Awesome Ric Flair comparison there Cork, it made me legit laugh. Still think Mir's chin is good enough based on those shots he took. It's not great and fragile is a good word, but it's not bad.

I watched the Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring fight recently. The way Lesnar controlled the fight was impressive then who can forget the first 10 seconds with a simple hook. Herring barley got any shots in, it was pretty one sided. I think this is the only fight ever Brock hugged his opponent afterwards.

What happened there was Mir went down and Big Nog was raining in shots. The ref was stating over and over that Nog was hitting Mir in the back of the head and so Nog then went for a guillotine choke but couldn't quite get it completely secure which resulted in Mir being able to escape and then transition into a sick kimura and then... well you saw what happened after that. But that was a top notch fight right there. Nog shoulda won but the "hits to the back of the head" were what stopped that and resulted in the submission of the year. But I wouldn't say Mir's chin is exactly fragile. Arlovski's chin? Fragile. Mir's chin... decent.
