Dan Henderson Vs Anderson Silva @ UFC 82

This fight was for the UFC Middleweight Championship & Pride Welterweight Championship It was a unification title match.

I wasn't really too big on Hendo at this time i don't know i just didn't like him but he's okay now, and this was only Silva's 6th fight in the UFC and he was rolling through all of the competition with big wins over Rich Franklin, Nate Marquardt and Chris Leben. I remember watching this when it was on and I was pulling for Anderson to get the win here.

The first round stats with a feeling out process early, Anderson and Hendo would then trade some high kicks and inside leg kicks for a bit. Henderson took Silva down with about 2 minutes left in the fight but really couldn't get any ground and pound going.

Hendo wins this first round, 10-8.

We're off to the second round now, this was a scheduled five round fight but this wouldn't make it out of this second round. Hendo came into this round with a lot of confidence and might have been a little too cocky he started eating some nasty kicks and uppercuts from Silva, then he was taken down and Anderson would impose some ground and pound, ref stands the fighters up and Silva throws a big knee and Hendo ate it and was dropped but it wasn't enough to get the KO win for Silva, Anderson gets into a full mount and slaps on a rear naked choke and Dan taps out.

Jon Jones Vs Ryan Bader @ UFC 126

This was a fight i was really looking forward too, i love the style of both fighters and really at this point thought Jones could end up being one of the best fighters in UFC history.

And god damn, i forgot all about Jon Jone's reach advantage over ANY fighter he comes in contact with.

Anyways, Bruce Buffer just announced the fighters and here we go in the first round!

Ryan Bader came right into this round looking for an over hand right hand, Jones got the take-down early though and Bader locked on a guillotine but Jon rolled out of the submission hold and tried going for a choke hold him self, Joe Rogan referred it to a north-south choke hold, he gets it locked on tight and Bader couldn't get out of it he was stuck in the middle of the octagon but would eventually get out of the hold. Nicely done by Bader to get back to his feet, only about a minute left in the round and Bader went for a take down but Jones stopped that and put Bader in another bad predicament. And ate some nasty ass Jon Jones elbow's to end the round, Jones was the clear winner here.

Second round is about to start, and it starts with Bader eating a quick left hook and you could tell it really fucked with Bader here. Ryan is throwing out some shots but they aren't effecting Jones but you can hear the impact of the shots on Jone's face but he just keeps coming for more.

Two minutes left in the round and Jones takes down Bader and hooks on a guillotine and Bader taps out and with Jone's reach you basically have no choice but to tap because he can put so much torque on it.

Good fight by Mr. Jones.

Junior Dos Santos vs. Roy Nelson @ UFC 117

Pretty interesting fight here, Santos was on a tear and he was destroying everybody in his way. This was a pretty big step up in competition for Roy Nelson also.

Time for the first round, both guys came out swinging to start the fight off. Roy ate a Knee and a classic JDS uppercut and Junoir started showing how good his hands were. Most impressive thing of all this is the fact that Roy Nelson didn't fall down, or anything he stood up and took everything that Dos Santos gave him, and i have no clue how Roy survived any of that. CRAZY.

Dos Santos wins this round.

Off to the second round, and it starts off with Big Country catching a knee to the head, but he came back and hit two HUGE shots on Dos Santos it's almost as if they had no effect on him at all though. Dos Santos is such a hard person to take to the ground, and he has such good hands he slowed down a lot in this round though and it looked like he was gassed a little bit. He was throwing a lot of punches but not every single one was connecting Neslon was able to block a lot of them but the ones that did land were pretty nasty looking. The rest of this round seen guys trading blows back and forth.

I would've given Roy Big Country Nelson this round, but the judges gave it to Santos.

Dos Santos was clearly frustrated that he couldn't end the fight, Nelson has such a big heart there was no way he was getting KO'd here.

Final round now, Dos Santos has to pace him self now because he's getting tired. Roy Nelson came out and hit a few big shots as did Junior. And that was pretty much all that went down for the last few minutes of the round. And Dos Santos takes this round to get the win via Unanimous Decision

Much respect to Roy Nelson to be able to stand up and trade blows with Junior the entire fight, good learning experience for Santos as well.

Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg @ UFC 103

Frank Trigg's first fight in the UFC in four years, and for Josh he was coming off of a loss to Paulo Thiago at UFC 96. Not a fan of Trigg never have been.

Not a whole lot to this fight, Tigg came in and went for a few shots and some kicks but he got caught by an uppercut and that's the fight.

Trigg throws a fit after the fight saying he could continue. Fuck off Trigg.

Koscheck wins Via TKO.

Nate Diaz vs Donald Cerrone @ UFC 141

This was one hell of a build up to a fight Cowboy Cerrone came into this fight with personal problems with Nate Diaz. I've always been a fan of the Diaz brothers, and I've seen all of Cerrone's fights, and he came into this fight on a 6 fight win streak.

Also loved Herb Dean here, " Touch gloves now..or not"

Anyways off to the first round, and it starts with both guys coming out and swinging, they go into a clinch early though. And with about 2 minutes left in the round, Diaz started connecting with EVERY single punch he threw out their, Cerrone wasn't even trying to block them or anything he was just eating them. And that's pretty much how the entire first round went.

Nate Diaz clearly wins this round.

Second round now, and it starts with Cerrone hitting a leg kick on Diaz and tripping him up but those leg kicks were the only thing that was working for him there's no way he could stand up and fight with Nate Diaz. And about about halfway through this round Diaz starts hitting all of his punches again and controlling the fight.

Diaz wins this round too, although it was closer than the first round.

Third and final round now and i love how it starts with Diaz flipping of Cerrone  good shit.

There's no way that Cowboy Cerrone is winning this fight so he has to come into here and try to finish the fight with a Sub or Ko. And it just wasn't happening on this night, Diaz was on the top of his game on this night it's hard to imagine any fighter being able to have stopped him here.

Diaz wins via unanimous decision.

Really good fight here, this fight really showed that Diaz should be considered a top contender in the division.

I was watchin a series of fights from my Ultimate 100.

1. The Ultimate Ultimate 96: Frye vs. Abbott - short fight that didn't last 2 minutes. Abbott kinda just went berserk in that fight just swingin for the fences like a mad man. He did catch Frye early but... Frye was able to keep his composure and lock in a rear naked for the win.

2. UFC Fight Night: Anderson Silva vs. Chris Leben - Didn't even last a full minute. Leben went in that fight so cocky thinkin he was gonna win it and Anderson just outstruck him in every way imaginable. Made him look like an amateur that didn't even belong inside of there. It was a no contest. Silva's debut in the UFC... simply awesome and was a definite sign of things to come.

UFC 71: Houston Alexander vs. Keith Jardine - It was the year of upsets and the question was would Alexander be able to do anything. Jardine was on a row and wanted a bigger fight but was stuck with a guy making his UFC debut. A minute later and Jardine is left lying on the mat wondering what just happened. Houston was looking to be a force... but yeah we know how that ended.

UFC 84: Wanderlei Silva vs. Keith Jardine - This was a fight that Wandy desperately needed. He needed a win badly and this was where it happened. This was where we saw a glimpse of the old Pride Silva. He pounced Jardine and finished him off... again within a minute. Jardine was definitely on the decline :p

UFC 48 : Mir vs. Sylvia - The big doofus had his freakin forearm snapped and he was walkin around like "What? It isn't broken." Herb Dean saved that guy and his arm by calling the fight. The fans were idiots chantin BS and booin the stoppage despite seein the replay. Although when they did see it they were like ohhhhhhh then still bood. Frank was in the mindset that if the fight were to continue then so be it. Frank was a beast back then. And he is finally catching that stride again.

Rashad Evans vs. Forrest Griffin @ UFC 92

Rashad was undefeated coming into this fight and it was his first light-heavyweight title fight.

The one thing about this fight was both guys have such good stamina they could easily go all 5 rounds. Rashad Evans really started to get confident in his striking around this time as well.

The first round starts with a feeling out process, both fighters landing a few big shots but nothing really enough to cause any serious damage to each other. For the most part the first round was more so all leg kicks and it basically was a kick boxing match in this first round. The round ended with Evans landing a huge kick to the mid section of Forrest and you could tell his ribs were fucked up.

Off to round two now, and it starts with Evans slipping on the mat and falling on his ass . Forrest was still having problems with his ribs and Evans was taking advantage of it. He started getting really cocky, he dropped his arms and was sticking his chin out for Forrest. The first minute and a half of the round it was all Evans, but he couldn't do shit against Forrest the rest of the fight.

Third round was all that was needed for this scheduled five round fight, and it starts with Rashad engaging and coming out with a flurry of right's and left's and Rashad gets Forrest on the ground, and was doing some serious ground and pound and it was amazing that Forrest was able to survive it. Rashad would eventually implement ground and pound once again and it was too much for Forrest this time around, after about 6 or 7 elbows to the face the ref has no choice but to stop the fight.

Winner and new Light-Heavy-Weight champion, Rasahd Evans.

Randy Coture Vs Brock Lesnar @ UFC 91

Brock Lesnar's first title shot in the UFC, against one of the best MMA fighters in the history of the UFC. Being such a big fan of Brock, i was pulling for him in this fight but honestly i wouldn't have cared which way the fight went. Randy was 14 years older and weighed 45 less pounds than Brock coming into this fight.

The First round starts with Brock getting Randy in a clinch and landing some knees to the head and mid section,Randy escaped the clinch and hits a big shot on Lesnar, Coture definitely had the striking advantage in this fight. Brock would look for the take down, but couldn't get it, which was kind of amazing to see Randy defend it considering how much size he was giving up. After another clinch, Lesnar would eventually take Randy down but Randy was able to pop back up and was attempting a leg lock on him but Brock is just too damn strong in this fight and Brock brought the fight back to the ground, where Brock hit a few big shots but eventually would make a mistake and Randy was able to get back to his feet. Brock seemed a little gassed already at this time and he seemed a little pissed off that he wasn't able to end the fight in the first round.

Now we're off to the second round and Brock came in with a jab, but on the back-end of it Randy ate an elbow and that hurt Coture but from some reason Brock hesitated to jump on all over it and Randy was able to recover and got Brock into clinch trying to hold him their and just control him. About 3 min left in the fight and Brock has been cut under the eye, but he's still landing some shots in and he threw an upper cut. The two stood their and hit some back and forth shots but Brock got the better of Randy and hit him with an elbow and no hesitation this time he jumped all over it and hit about 10 other strikes to the head and that was it, the ref stops the fight and Brock wins the Heavy Weight Championship.

Winner by TKO, Brock Lesnar

Jake Shields vs. Martin Kampmann @ UFC 121

Jake Shields's debut in the UFC, and they really threw some top competition at him. I didn't know a whole lot about Jake at this time i had seen a little bit of his stuff from Elite XC but still didn't know a whole lot now, though I'm a pretty big Shields fan.

And we're off! I'd also like to mention that Bruce Buffer was awesome while doing the introductions for the fighters

So the first round starts off and Shields grabs a hold of Martin early to start off but Kampmann dropped down and brought the fight to the ground, Shields is an amazing submission artist but Martin was making it difficult him to maneuver on the ground. After a little bit of a ground struggle Kampmann popped back up and landed a few big knees to the midsection of Jake.

Shields is really trying to get this fight back to the ground but Kampamnn won't have any of it and the fight stays as a standing battle for the time being which really i don't think is very smart for Shields, if i were him i would've tried to stay in the clinch and work from their, i wouldn't want to get punched in the face by Martin.

SECOND ROUND!

Things to look out for, Shields has a little bit of blood trickling down from the side of his eye and Martin is kind of limping.

This second of third rounds starts with a stand up battle and both fighters exchanging back and forth, Jake would attempt an early take down but it would get stuffed by Kampman, Jake got leveled with a HUGE knee right to the forehead, and Martin would attempt to choke him out but Jake is so good on the ground that he couldn't really do anything and Shields was shaking everything off. Clearly Martin needs to keep this fight standing up if he wants to have a chance. I think Kampmann threw like 15 knees in this round though, and a few of them rocked Jake but he hung in their. We're at about a minute and 30 seconds left in the fight and Jake gets full mount and really showed his wrestling skills off at this point.

The ref was yelling at Jake a lot in this fight, for grabbing the fence. trunks and shots to the back of the head I'm actually surprised that the ref didn't deduct points.

Time for the third round, and Jake goes for another earlier take down but Martin was able to block that one as well. Kampamnn needs to win this round to win the fight, as i thought that Jake won the first two fights. Jake looks really tired at this point, he can't take Martin down or anything he's basically just hanging on Kampmann and staying in the Clinch. Although, seeing as Jake won the first two rounds this wasn't the most important round for him but still it would've been nice if he was able to show off some superior wrestling. Kampmann went for about 5 or 6 sub attempts though while on the ground and Shields being as tired as he was is able to defend them all amazingly. Kampmann fucked this fight up by trying to get on the ground and wrestle Jake in the second and third rounds when it was clearly going against him and he kept doing it over and over again. If he would've stuck to his strength and would've kept the fight standing he would've won this fight but he didn't, and he lost.

Winner via decision; Jake Shields.
