Hardcore Holly vs. Al Snow for the Hardcore Championship. It was just so awkward and unbelievable. Hardcore Holly and AL Snow threw each other into the Mississippi River and then Holly getting the win after Rolling Al Snow into some poorly placed chain link fence.

Here's a video for those interested. I do remember watching this match before, but it was a couple years ago. I remember it being pretty bad, but at the same time good because it really got the hardcore division over with how crazy it was.

There were so many clusterfuck hardcore matches for that title. Guys like Raven, Taz and Perry Saturn were wasted in that division.

Still, I found pretty entertaining as the Hardcore Champion.

So they incorperated some comedy into the whole untra-violence of the hardcore wrestling of the late 90's, its part of what made it so memorable.

Basically what Prodigy said, they aren't meant to be compared with Shawn Michaels v Taker siriusness, they are just a spot of fun to break up the action.

Brock/Goldberg and Steiner/Trips are still up there as some of the worst IMO. The CM Punk/Elijah Burke match from ECW takes the crown though.

Exactly. Wrestling doesn't take itself too seriously, although sometimes it's fans do. Ya know? I remember some match where the Hardcore Title changed hands like 20 times. It was hilarious.

What about the time that Patterson and Brisco wrestled for it, and Patterson was in full drag with shit-stained undies? He won with the Stinkface.

No one really talks about that one lol.
