Back in the day those hardcore matches were decent and that is what everyone wanted to see. Around the time that match took place that is when the Attitude Era kicked off properly. Everyone enjoyed the violence, the silliness and the funny gimmicks; it's wrestling. I feel sorry for those who become keyboard warriors and criticise every aspect of the industry as if they are currently employed in that line of work. If everyone dissected wrestling down to the very fine details what would be the point of watching it?!

I always enjoyed the Crash Holly sillyness in the hardcore division and will never forget the time he wrestled in one of those kids play thingys with the monkey bars and everything. Good times.

Those Hardcore title matches were jokes, but Bob Holly is just a fuckin' boss. That dude hits like a mack truck. His workin' punches will knock out a damn mule.

Exactly. Wrestling doesn't take itself too seriously, although sometimes it's fans do. Ya know? I remember some match where the Hardcore Title changed hands like 20 times. It was hilarious.

What about the time that Patterson and Brisco wrestled for it, and Patterson was in full drag with shit-stained undies? He won with the Stinkface.

No one really talks about that one lol.

I watched that match on my laptop while, I was away (no internet) and totally forgot to bring up when I got back. It's absolutely atrocious, I don't know why either one of them agreed to it.

Triple H vs. Steiner was damn entertaining in my book, I found it hilarious.

Just a reminder of why the Attitude Era wasn't as great as people proclaim it to be.

Didn't dogs shit during their match?

Guess they were saying what the audience was thinking.

I'm not sure, but it was really bad. I still remember their SummerSlam match to this day, it was extremely entertaining when I was young and it still is today.

I mean for every Kennel In A Cell or Patterson in Drag match they had back then, you'd see some amazing shit like the rise of The Rock, Austin, DX, Mick Foley, Kanes first epic run when he was just unfuckingstoppable. It's give and take. Wrestling is always better with cheese. Otherwise it's just super serious.

The best is quite often the stuff that is unintentionally funny. Just listen to a Mongo promo and you'll know what I mean.

I don't get it, people complain about all the cheese right now or two years ago or five years ago and never talk about the Attitude era shit we were fed.

Can't see why people won't admit it was shit. back then too.

Didn't anyone ever read the proverb.

"You take the good, you take the bad, you take em all and there you have, the facts of life.......the facts of life".

I don't complain about cheese in wrestling. I need mas queso, frankly. I know it's still real to you (damnit), but it's just wrestling.

What are you insinuating here? I'm not a smark, I'm a fan and I take this for what it is, a soap opera. Or Vaudeville at its rawest form.

Know that for true.

It's weird how people can take something as silly as pro-wrestling serious.

You don't look at a Simpsons forum and have people breakdown character arcs or rip the writing staff.

I can't really give a reason, perhaps people look upon the past with fondness? Every era has it's high and low points. People may be annoyed because this era hasn't had as many high points. Then again, in ten years I may look back and remember all of the awesomeness that this era brought - I probably will.

(I know you weren't speaking to me nor am I huge on the AE. Just thought I'd give my two cents)
