What made it feel like fence sitting for me was the last paragraph. Just felt like he was trying to sell me the neutrality as opposed to it being his opinion.

this probably won't help with that feeling but for the record the fact it might be bad for town to give out needless info like that wouldn't mean that town wouldn't give up that info and make such a mistake. hence the fact i didn't feel any particular way about it. i thought he was an actor though which apparently isn't the case anyway
