I was just thinking, since JBL is back on commentary right now and he is still acting "Heelish", do you think that he will ever be back in the ring as a full time competitor?
I think it would make sense if he is commentating the royal rumble and he ends up entering towards the end to win the whole thing. Its a good idea in my opinion because it would catch most people off guard.

No and I don't want to see it either. Leave him in a mic role where he excels, whether it be a commentator, GM or a manager but not in the ring.

The scenario you suggest just sounds like a one off like Lawler pulled. Doesn't sound like a full time spot. But no I agree with Dale it doesn't help anyone by trying to resurrect Attitude Era guys in this PG era. Its a different machine now and very few have been able to adapt.

He's too old and not in wrestling shape at all. Honestly, I don't think he wants to do it either. From what I've seen, he enjoys the commentating table.

And he's got more mountains to climb.

I love JBL. He is gold on the mic. One of the best in a period of boring, monotonous mic workers. I'd love for the WWE to concoct a storyline where JBL "buys" (kayfabe obviously) the WWE because the Stock of the company tanked, and a "corporate raid" was conducted overnight (the night after a future Wrestlemania, say) and all the stock got scooped up by an anonymous trader. Then JBL would reveal himself to be the owner of the WWE and you could basically have him be the next "Mr. McMahon" character. Sorry for the fantasy booking, I think it's completely plausible.

I just think that JBL could maybe have a short championship reign for a little while to keep him around. Then he can do what the other old timers are doing, and that is to push the younger talent.

Maybe for one last match, but nothing more honestly. His wrestling days are behind him, and I respect that he hasn't tried anything to get back in the ring. He's a phenomenal commentator, and just all around brilliant on the mic. A full time in ring thing just wouldn't be ideal.

He's retired, not everyone who comes back to WWE wants to wrestle, his back was screwed up during his last run and I doubt he wants to go through that again.

I was never really a JBL guy, aside from the APA, but I love what he is doing now and to me it looks like he might stick on Smackdown which is perfect for him... I don't think he would be too keen on the full time schedule (living in Bermuda or wherever it is he lives) but traveling for one night of work a week and being the great Heel commentator that Cole could never quite pull off....

I think that he is more than comfortable in his current role and won't want to wrestle again. He had an excellent final run with his JBL character and he is a very rich man so there is no real need for him to get into the ring anymore. He is doing a fantastic job as colour commentator so keep him in that role.

Even as a huge JBL fan, even I enjoy him more behind the desk than in the ring. The guy is a wizard on the mic. The more JBL mic time, the better.

I don't think JBL will be returning to a wrestling ring anytime soon. I expect that once Jerry Lawler has recovered he will be back behind the commentary table and calling the matches. I'm hoping that once Lawler returns WWE may decide to use JBL part time. Therefore WWE could go with a three-man commentary team or just keep changing the commentary team around every few weeks which will help to freshen things up. But no, I don't see Mr. Manboobs returning to a WWE ring at least; he has nothing to prove.

But he is a great wrestler as well. I mean Cm Punk was good at commentary and see where he's at. Jbl can cut some pretty good promos, thats something that only a few wrestlers can do in the wwe.

No, he's not a great wrestler at all.
