JBL isn't a great technical wrestler but he's a great wrestler. He can work a good match, he understands ring pshycology, pacing, storytelling. He's fantastic on the mic, better than the like of Piper and Austin in my opinion and he can draw heat so well.

He used to be a good wrestler. Now after all his back issues, his time out of the ring and his age he won't be a good wrestler. There is no need for him to get back into the ring. He is better used as a commentator, play to his strengths.

John "Bradshaw" Layfield is a master on the microphone, but he's far past his prime when it comes to the idea of wrestling full time. That being said, it doesn't mean that I couldn't see something leading up to Wrestlemania for a one night only match. JBL works on the commentators table, I found commentating these days are lacking a good heel and since that role isn't for Michael Cole as much now JBL fits in perfectly. No matter what they decide to do with JBL, I say please keep him behind the table still despite a possible return, behind the table is where he belongs these days.
