FOX Sports South has posted a new article looking at DDP's work helping Jake "The Snake" Roberts resurrect his health and career.

“’This is it. If you don’t get it done, you’re going to die,’†Roberts told himself before moving into DDP's Accountability crib. “I mean, when you want to die, you can shut yourself down to that point. There’s no doubt in my mind I could do that to myself to die. Give up.â€

The big news from the interview was Jake Roberts announcing he'll be in the 2014 Royal Rumble:

“I’m announcing that right now. I’ll be in the Royal Rumble next year, count on it… I worked too hard in this business to go out that way. So I guess we’re going to have to take a victory lap. I’m definitely coming back."

DDP, one of Jake's strongest supporters, says Jake is constantly surprised at his progress.

“Every day, this guy is getting stronger and stronger,†Page said. “He’s like, ‘How is that happening?’
I would of rather this was kept a secret if true... Would of been great!

He's announcing that he wants to be in it. Least thats the way the article I read was written. Personally I could care less he's got no chance of winning it and he just hasn't entertained me in years.

He's just giving himself a goal to work towards for the sake of his rehab. I wouldn't mind seeing this either, it's a while away and a single spot in the Rumble is no big deal, and of course he won't win it.

I'd mark for a couple DDTs.

Jake is the GOAT, and if he won the damn thing I'd mark no matter how little sense it made.

Better than having some bum like Zack Ryder wasting a spot.

Good to hear he's doing well.

Wouldn't count on this Royal Rumble thing though, but I'm glad that his heart is in the right place.

In the highly unlikely event that he gets himself into working order for it then I guess why not. But I'd rather remember him for his glory years.

He could get into shape to do a quick match. Do a few ddts than get thrown out. Or if they need to clear a few people in the ring he can throw in the snake

I doubt WWE would take the risk. They wouldn't want another Lawler situation happening. Even if Roberts gets himself into better shape he shouldn't really be back in the ring at his age and after what his body has been through. Too much of a liability.
