He proved to me on ECW what he was capable of and how talented he was, so when he was moved to the main roster I was hoping he'd be steadily built up and polished, getting a couple of notable mid card fueds and a mid card title reign.
But then he won MITB, and I'm okay so they have big plans for Swagger, hooray! So I guess for the next few months he's going to be in a high profile fued or two and built up to main event credability, cool. After cashing in the following Smackdown, I was confused but optimistic. I knew he was talented and that whatever happened, surely a WHC reign will be good for his career, right?
Then WWE had Big Show embarrass Swagger for a couple of months, were disappointed in his inability to get over in the spotlight and never bothered to throw him another bone. Basically, the same mistake they've gone and made with Zack Ryder. If there was something evident in that angle it was that Swagger still needed some work in some areas, but still showed promise. What perplexes me is how instead of giving Swagger something to do that will help get him to where he needs to be, WWE dismiss him and throw him to the wayside.
So yeah, I place a lot of the blame on WWE for dropping the ball with Swagger, but as much as I like him I know he'd probably never be on the level of, say, Kurt Angle. Still, looking at his athletic ability and wrestling background, thats a lot of talent going to waste isn't it?
