Unfortunately Halloween is becoming more popular here each year, I was hoping that this would be one crappy tradition that would stay away from our shores but it wasn't to be. I find it a pretty pointless tradition and I will never bother participating.

Reno 911 sums it up nicely "I don't like kids begging for food. It sets them up for welfare living."

Halloween costumes here in the UK are odd. The lads always seem to release their inner geek and go as Sonic, the Smurfs, Mario, Spongebob, or whatever else they liked as kids. The girls always look like they've just finished shooting a fetish porno. It's an interesting psychological study, really.

That is so narrow minded, kids going Trick N' Treating (which I too am against) isn't the only aspect of Halloween.

Had a great time last night at the party, trashy music, with Ghostbusters and Time Warp being the highlights, cheap drinks, interesting costumes and a really friendly vibe.

Don't think anyone ever said you can't dress up at other times of the year Prod it is just this is when. people dress up as something horror related.

Has anyone been watching any horror films? Think I am going to watch Ginger Snaps and maybe Nightmare on Elm Street the next couple of days.

Well I took my niece and nephew out for Halloween. I didn't dress up but they did and they had fun. That is all that matters. They got candy and they got to play a few games. I don't see a problem with that.

First year I haven't done shit for Halloween in awhile. I haven't dressed up in years, but I'll at least go to a Halloween party. Went to a party Saturday, but it was outside and didn't have shit to do with Halloween. Been some trick or treaters tonight, handed out a little candy and scared a few with a Ghostface mask, that was fun.

Nevermind the ice cream man thing. I recently found a giant dick costume. I am now going to walk around Ottawa asking dirty questions.

The Johnsons already did that gimmick 10 years ago, brah.

Reno 911 is a comedy show and the comment is an extreme comment made by one of the characters. I just don't like the concept of kids begging door to door.

With Easter and Christmas it is all about giving, Halloween is all about taking.

That's really not the big picture though. When I was a kid the candy was just something extra that I never really thought about until I was around 11 or 12. Dressing up and seeing everyone else's costume was always what I liked the most.
