That's really not the big picture though. When I was a kid the candy was just something extra that I never really thought about until I was around 11 or 12. Dressing up and seeing everyone else's costume was always what I liked the most.

It might just be because it is still relatively new here and not that popular but Halloween is pretty much only talked up as trick or treating and nothing else.

Reno 911 is a comedy show and the comment is an extreme comment made by one of the characters. I just don't like the concept of kids begging door to door.

With Easter and Christmas it is all about giving, Halloween is all about taking.

I know its a comedy show I was just making a basic point. I am not a big fan of Tnt either, but like has been said there is far more to Halloween than that. I just think that if you enter into the spirit of it, it can be quite a fun little event which is still quite different from christmas and Easter which at times feel overly communical to me.

Halloween promotes obesity.

So I am that guy who gives out healthy snacks and a stern warning to try and egg my house.

well I know when I was at the mall with my niece and nephew... my nephew is 3 and he just liked looking at the costumes. The Buzz Lightyears, Superman, all that stuff. My niece just wanted to show off her costume and see her friends. The candy was like... second in thought.

And it is definitely about costumes. Saw some folks standing around someone dressed up in a Halo suit. Looked pretty cool. But yeah. Costumes definitely. It'll get bigger and then you'll see the fun.

You should hand out recipe cards with your healthy snacks to give the kids some ideas of what they can do with eggs other than throwing them at houses.
