But why would he go and verify something he thinks is true? This is why the “if I had a team I wouldn’t make the mistake” defence falls down. He didn’t know he was making a mistake lol. Why would he be looking out for a mistake he didn’t know he was making?

if he genuinely did not know he is making a mistake this can come from both town or mafia

he was careless while making his read list. thats the only explanation that makes sense. usually mafia double checks their "fake" reads to atleast see if it makes sense from the thread lol.
