I was hyped. But after seeing the return of their shit cards, it's just making me lose hope.

Can we not have Marufuji vs Suguira. For the trillionth time?

All Japan news:
Their Junior battle of glory (junior tournament) is currently under way with the rumored final being Atsushi Aoki vs Big Japan's Kazuki Hashimoto.

Kento Miyahara beat Zeus on the 12th to become the new and youngest ever Triple Crown Champion at 26 years old. His first defense will be against Takao Omori (the build to legitimize him is on).

The Champions Carnival (their G1 for those not in the know) is set for April and will run for 7 shows, starting in Korakuen Hall on April 9 and end in Osaka at the Edison second Arena on April 29. Osaka being their new main market it seems which makes sense since they draw well there.

The blocks are as follows

A BLOCK: Kento Miyahara, Naoya Nomura, The Bodyguard [FREE], Daisuke Sekimoto [BJW], Jun Akiyama, Kengo Mashimo [K-DOJO] & Super Tiger [RJPW]

B BLOCK: Zeus, Yutaka Yoshie [FREE], Takao Omori, Jake Lee, Hideyoshi Kamitani [BJW], Ryoji Sai [LAND’S END], Joe Doering (making his return post knee surgery)

The only ones I see beating Kento/drawing with him in the A block is Jun and Sekimoto. To set up TC matches down the road. The rest he will blow through. Even based bodyguard.

@Bort thoughts on AJPW possibly making Osaka their new main market? Both the Junior tournament and the CC are running their finals in Osaka this year so they might be trying it out. Plus they've drawn okay there recently

For some reason Kaito Kiyomiya seems like a star in the making. Despite the guy having as much personality as a dying amoeba, and the look of a living amoeba, I just see something in him.

He reminds me of a young Tajiri. If you remember he had the exact same look, but his time in ECW really allowed him to flourish. He could've carried a company if he had gone back to Japan, in time. That's what Kaito "The man with the worst dropkick ever" Kiyomiya ( @Prince Bálor  ) needs. He needs more experience, in the US. Or at least a promotion/market that emphasizes style over substance. Speaking of substance; he needs some cleaning up. I think a long stay in the States can help him, greatly. If only NOAH had a relationship with a US company, to give him what he needs.

I don't know. Maybe i'm just hoping for NOAH to get back into shape, and he's a doomed Opener 4 life.

I want to know how many actually payed to get in. Since NOAH apparently papers their crowds a lot, which explain why they are so dead. Majority of the crowd does not know what is going on.

If they had paid, they didn't pay enough.

NOAH is so weird. They have that cardgame money to fund it, but they don't seem to do anything to grow. They outdraw All Japan (who is also such a smaller entity than they used to be) only because they run about twice the amount of shows. AJPW runs 5-7 shows per month roughly, NOAH 14. Only NJPW and Dragon Gate run more shows in a month.

What is wrong with their strategy?

A distinct product. DDT is crazy. Dragon Gate is kind of hard to explain. NOAH is just a touring company. They don't have anything unique. They don't have fresh faces, and the ones they do have - don't have a lick of personality (i.e Kaito Kiyomiya, Hitoshi Kumano etc. etc.). If you have a bland business model with a bland product with a bland roster, you're not going anywhere.
