I think Nash said it on something I watched on the Network recently but basically Turner just didn't get wrestling in general and that's why WWF ended up winning in the long run bc Vince most definitely did

Piper vs. Hogan definitely didn't do the trick for me lol

Turner was a TV company that did wrestling while Vince was a wrestling guy that did TV.

And the next biggest match was Luger vs. The Giant. A better match, but still kinda meh for me in terms of interest.

Show peaked in the first match with Dragon vs. Malenko

That said, Turner's biggest problem was never letting a single guy stay in charge. Bischoff missed the mark in 1999 and yanked him out immediately when 1996-1998 did monster business. They were way too hasty up there.

A lot of WCW shows peaked with the first match

Bischoff intentionally put the best match on first. He wanted to hook the crowd so they'd stay invested throughout the weaker parts of the show.

WCW was better than the crapfest that was the Attitude Era. Granted, late WCW was awful mostly. But Attitude Era will forever be the most overrated garbage tier stuff besides ECW. Mostly humor that 14 year old boys would chuckle at, chair shots, and mediocre matches that were over booked.

I get that, but... idk... maybe not the best idea when the rest of the card is such a huge downgrade lol

I liked the Attitude Era, but I am a WCW mark through and through.

I'm inclined to agree it was overrated, but 2000 was still the best year of WWE in history and the matches most definitely weren't mediocre at that point except some of the undercard

But I think the only year WCW was better than WWF was maybe 96, but only after nWo debuted bc fuck that stuff earlier in the year with Hogan

I would say I enjoyed WCW TV more than WWF TV in 1997 and maybe 1998. As a whole though, Attitude Era WWF is just more enjoyable to me.

Ruthless Aggression Era is the era I think is overrated, but I'll sit over here.
