WWF MAPLE LEAF GARDENS AUGUST 11TH, 1985

Randy Savage vs Bob Marcus
Woooo, Randy gets another squash on the big stage. You love to see it. Lots of staling and yelling at the fans before he snaps and kills Marcus dead. Love that he's showing he's a massive asshole, but also an incredibly talented and dangerous one. Stunning elbow drop does the deal.
**

Andre The Giant vs Big John Studd w/Bobby Heenan
Andre being gone for 5 months and having to watch nothing but dogshit Studd squashes for that time, has not made me want to see this at all. Still, Andre owns him to start and throws him around and it's pretty fun at least, and the crowd is hotter than hell which helps. Andre pulls his hair and beard and laughs at him for being a loser and stuff. Studd takes over with a kick to the knee and it's a decent clubbering time for a while. Bobby hands him some clippers to get the rest of the hair, but Andre fights back and kicks the shit out of both of them. He gets the clippers, BUT KING KONG BUNDY RUNS OUT AND ATTACKS HIM FOR THE DQ
1/2*

STUDD TACKLES ANDRE AND BUNDY HITS 4 AMAZING SPLASHES ON ANDRE. HOLY FUCK YES. THE LOCKER ROOM RUNS OUT AND FIGHTS THE HEELS AWAY AND CHECK ON A DEAD ANDRE. Amazing angle.

The Hart Foundation vs The Killer Bees
YES. Bees have a killer (get it) flurry and smack the honey out of the boys in awesome fashion. Bret takes some great bumps and really shows what he can bring in regards to that, and hey he's pretty good. Anvil knees Jim in the back to take over on him, and Bret hits a slam on the ramp and the thud is gross as hell. Fun control seg again as the roles are set and both men are getting better each time. Jim is also a good face in peril with his selling and bumps. B has a Killer (sorry) hot tag and bounces them all over the joint with some great strikes and the like. It breaks down as he gets Anvil in a sleeper and has him beat, but that little shit Bret grabs some knucks and knocks him out cold and throws Anvil on top to steal it. Give me a rematch, please.
**3/4

Terry Funk vs Junkyard Dog

Speak to the greatness of Funker that i am watching a JYD house show match by choice, but he's the best dude ever. Terry cheap shots him and attacks him with the chain and strangles him, but JYD lives sadly and fights back and pinballs Funk all over the place. Classic amazing punch drunk Funker selling, and he's the only man who can make WWF JYD look good. Each bump is awesome and different from the last, and he takes more and more wild ones as it goes on. Funk kicks him in the face to take over and he beats the shit out of him. JYD actually works his ass off for once and does his best for Funk, and hey good for him. They eventually fight on the outside and it goes to a double countout.
**1/2

Ricky Steamboat vs Don Muraco

DRAGON RUSHES HIM AND UNLOADS ALL THE FIRE NOW THAT HE FINALLY HAS HIM IN THE RING. Amazing display of pissed off babyface Steamboat, and if i doubted he was the all time babyface, this would change my mind. Don gets his ass handed to him and dies on everything in amazing fashion. Fuji cracks Ricky with the crutch to allow Don to take over, and he bashes the hell out of him with knees and elbows, and Ricky sells like death. He holds onto his ribs as he's bounced over the ropes and onto the mat, and each bump is different more brutal than the last. Steamboat ducks a lariat and catches Don in the face with a chop to bust him open and he beats the shit out of him for a while, but Fuji throws salt in his eyes for the DQ.

Match#1 US Express w/Lou Albano vs Dave Barbie & Tiger Chung Lee

Say with me folks, same old decent US squash. Bulldog ends it.
*

WWF Update-
Corp K is swimming with a knife in his mouth because fuck yeah.

Match#2 Terry Funk vs Paul Roma
FUNKER KILLS THE RAT BOY. WWF IS THE BEST. Funk takes some wild bumps for his bad offence, like throwing himself over the ropes after a punch. Just a maniac in the best way. He easily fights back and batters the boy in amazing form. Sleeper does the deed.
**

Post match, Funker brands him for being alive.

Mean Gene-
-Hulk Hogan is going to fight fire with fire when he fights Bundy, He was hanging and banging when it hit him he needs to train with a giant to beat one, so his friend Andre tied his hands behind his back and pounded his head to get him ready. He hopes Bundy really is a giant, otherwise this ain't lasting long, brother.

Match#3 Tito Santana vs Mike Donatali
Albano joins Vince about the manager of the year awards, so Blassie walks out and hits hi with his cane for being a loser. As for the match, Tito takes the arm and wreaks the kid and it rules, just a shame it's a background to that trash. Forearm and the Figure Four does the deal
**

Mean Gene-
-Uncle Elmer has never heard of Boston and he's not sure what he's going to do once he gets there, but he wants to fight Valentine for hurting his nephew.

Match#4 Dream Team w/Jimmy Hart vs Lanny Poffo & Mario Mancini
90 seconds of not too much, sadly. Brutus takes some bumps for Lanny, and then Brutus gets in and cleans house and wins with the Figure Four.
1/2*

Piper's Pit. He says Andre was meant to be his guest tonight, but he's not here. Piper rips up a recent WWF magazine with pics of Andre and calls him a bum. Orton freaks out and Andre walks on, and Piper kisses up and says the book was ripped when he got here. He says the new Andre doll is wonderful and very pretty, so Andre throws it into the crowd. Piper grabs an Andre shirt and blows his nose into it before running for it.

Match#5 Don Muraco w/Mr Fuji vs Sal Gee
Our hero murders a shitty loser for a couple of minutes. Tombstone ends the fun.
**

PSA. Randy Savage wants you to go to the gym. YEAH DIG IT

Match#6 Ricky Steamboat & Junkyard Dog vs Spot & Steve Lombardi
Really short and whatever, sadly. Steamer wins with the crossbody

TONIGHT RANDY SAVAGE INTRODUCES HIS NEW MANAGER.

Match#1 Killer Bees vs Rusty Brooks & Barry O
I've been recovering from surgery over the last week, so that's why i was MIA. B Blair makes me feel better with his super fun offence against Brooks. He hits him super hard to make his fat ass fall, and it's good times. Brunzelle does well for himself with his stuff, and he finally looks like he's bringing something to the table and adding to the team of Bees. He slams Brooks and Blair hits a flying bonsai splash that Vince calls THE STINGER for the win.
**

WWF Update-
US Express are born in the USA.

Match#2 Pedro Morlaes vs AJ Pertruzi
Fuck no

Mean Gene-
-Hulk Hogan promotes his match with Bundy. He's faced trials and monsters and no one loves to train like he does, and he lives for this brother. Bundy cheap shotted his way to get here, and that turns him off brother. Guided by a fool like Jimmy Hart is also wrong, and that's not something he can allow. Bundy hasn't paid his dues and he's from the darkside brother, and he will show him the light is right. He's going to slam him onto Jimmy Hart.

Match#3 Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff vs Keith & Al Diamond
Really Awful again thanks to Nik being fat and old, and Sheik being fat and washed. Not a good combo of fat +, folks. Clutch ends my pain.
Poop

Mean Gene-
-Corp Krischner walks on and cuts a hideous promo about being trained for war because he's a marine and whatnot. Really bad and made worse by the fact he can't speak and stumbles over his words like a complete dweeb.

Piper's Pit with TERRY FUNK. HOLY SHIT YES. Piper calls him the best cowboy he's ever met in his life. Funk says he's here to talk about dogs, and his daddy told him dogs are dogs and junkyard dogs are not dogs. They are fools and no to be trusted. He and Ace have branded thousand of cattle in their lives and they know they sound they make, and JYD is going to scream HEEEEEE HAW LIKE A JACKASS. He's going to brand him like the big nose animal he is, and he's going to brand him for good. Funk spits on the camera to end it. The greatest to ever fucking do it.

Match#4 Tony Atlas & George Wells vs Bolo & John Rizzo
Fink introduces the super team with all their powerlifting/strongman records, so you know Vince is hard as a rock at this new team. Bad muscle head stuff as Wells is fine enough on his own, but he's not great or anything, and Tony is terrible and botches everything he attempts. Wells wins with an assisted shoulderblock.
1/2*

Hillbilly Jim wants you to listen to your parents.

Randy Savage comes out for his match with every heel manager following him in a really amazing moment. Vince says he has invited them all as he wants to thank them for their support since he got here. Vince also says that whoever Randy has picked is unknown to everyone.

Match#5 Randy Savage vs Jim Young
Fuck yeah. Randy kills him with a knee to the back and hits the axe handle and batters the shit out of him in amazing form. He hits the Elbow to win.
**

Post match, Randy throws the kid to the floor and grabs the mic. He says this is the big day and he wants to thank all the managers for considering him and giving him ideas that will stick him forever and he will use what they have given him for the rest of his life. Let the mystery be over as Macho Madness has peaked right now and he is the future WWF World Champion and he brings out his new manager for this big, big moment. The door open and it's MISS ELIZABETH. HELL YES
miss-elizabeth-makes-her-wwe-debut.jpg

She walks to the ring and Jimmy Hart goes to open the ropes for her, and Randy pulls him back and makes her get in herself. She smiles as he parades her around the ring and screams she will take him all the way to the top. INCREDIBLE Angle.

US Express (c) w/Lou Albano vs Dream Team w/Johnny Valiant (WWF World Tag Team Championships-24/8)
We've finally reached the moment the dream becomes a reality. Not that i want Brutus to ever be happy or touch gold, but i'm so over the Express at this point and want Barry to go on his amazing NWA run, that i just need it done. Fun little brawl to start with Barry and Hammer paring off and punching the shit out of each other, and it's really fun as you'd expect. Mike and Hammer is also fun as well, but on a lesser level because IRS is still IRS, you know?? Brutus finally gets in and does stuff, and it's not very good or anything, but he's still worlds better than some of the other pushed mopes at this point, so it could be a lot worse. Hammer eventually isolates Mike and we get a fine control seg for a few minutes. Basically the story of the match is it's FINE and i can't add much more when i'm not given anything else to say or add. Things break down as it tends to and Valiant hands Brutus his cigar AND HE STICKS IN IT BARRY'S EYE AND RUBS IT IN OVER AND OVER. BARRY DROPS AN ELBOW ON BARRY AND COVERS HIM TO WIN THE TITLES. FUCK YEAH THE DREAM IS ALIVE.

Realised i fucked up and never added the Express' second reign to the list, so my bad.

WWF Championship Wrestling

Poughkeepsie, NY

Tonight; Corp Krischner debuts and we will see footage from Andre vs Studd with a shocking outcome!!!!

Match#1 Ricky Steamboat & Junkyard Dog vs Mr X & Gino Carobello
Sadly, we're still hiding JYD inn tags once Vince realised he's mostly cooked. Still, Ricky is awesome and beats the jobbers asses with his wonderful karate based offence, and it's a blast. JYD does a slam and some bad elbows and that's it for him, before Ricky wins with the crossbody.
*

WWF Update-
-Mr Fuji is doing his best to get rid of Ricky Steamboat on Muraco's behalf.
-We see footage of them hanging Dragon a few weeks ago.
-WWF is almost only a month behind from live events and the like, which is a nice change of pace.

Match#2 Nikolai Volkoff w/Freddie Blassie vs Rick McGraw
Rick's last few months alive are spent being fed to pieces of shit like Nik, and it's really sad to see how it ended for him. Nik does lame power based offence that looks like it wouldn't hurt at all, and it kills an already dead act a little bit more. Rick works hard when he gets a chance to make it work, but it's no dice baby. Backbreaker ends it.
Hotboxing yourself

HULK HOGAN'S ROCK AND WRESTLING WILL BE AIRING EVERY WEEKEND.

Mean Gene-
-Gene covers the tag title switch, so we're not behind on some things depending on what WWF is feeling at any moment. Weird.
-JYD is here and says it like a Friday in the projects when you go to collect cash and you get robbed, baby. His man concern right now is Terry Funk and his no good butt, and he's going to fight him. God knows he's no good and he's going to make Funk pay his dues. Wait, is God going to fight Funk because holy shit i want to see that.

Match#3 Ivan Putski & Tony Atlas vs Matt Borne & John Rizo
EWWWWW BROTHER. WHAT IS THAT. These two make Nik look like a decent muscle head given how weak and bad both men are despite having more roids in their bodies than most humans in the history of wrestling. Hammer of the Polish kind ends it.
1/2*

Mean Gene-
-Terry Funk. He walks on and spits on the ground and says every once and a while we are gifted a great man from above, and Gene is not one of them. He is gifted with the ability to hurt a man in many ways and he is MIDDLE AGED AND CRAZY AND HE'S BEEN BLESSED WITH BEING A PRO WRESTLING. HE IS GOING TO CHOKE THAT MAN UNTIL HE TURNS AN UGLY PURPLE AND BRAND HIM.

Match#4 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Red Walsh
Wooooooo Funk now has Hart with him for some extra heat and it's a perfect combo. He puts his hat on a ringside offical and chases after him, BUT JTD WALKS OUT AND STANDS IN FRONT OF HIM. HE RUSHES THE RING AND FIGHTS FUNK AND KILLS HIM WITH A HEADBUTT AND KNOCKS HIM TO THE FLOOR. HART PULLS TERRY BACK WHEN HE TRIES TO GET BACK IN AND HAS TO HOLD ONTO HIS LEGS AS HE BEGS AND SCREAMS FOR HIM TO LEAVE. TERRY FINALLY WALKS OFF. AMAZING ANGLE.

Piper's Pit with Randy Savage. Randy walks on and gives Piper a big hug and asks if he wants to know how he made his choice, and he says it happened after he stared at a candle for 60 straight hours and he saw her. Miss Elizabeth walks on in an amazing green dress and Piper says he can see why he picked her over Albano. Liz says she is thrilled to be in his corner from here on out and gives Randy a kiss on the cheek. Piper asks for one, so Randy kisses him as the segment ends.

Match#5 Corp Krichner vs Terry Gibbs
Corp is former jobber RT Reynolds and he sucks a ton to the shock of no one. Really bad strikes and selling as he's clearly not sure on what to do, and is only here because Vince wants him to be. He wins with a bad Samoan Drop.
1/2*

We see the footage of King Kong Bundy attacking Andre in Canada.

We go to an interview with Andre after the match. He says he took his time to get even as he wanted to take his time and have fun, but now Bundy is here and things are going faster. He says Heenan make think those men will be by his side at all times, but he will get him alone. Now he is mad and he's going away for a little while and he's going to get someone to stand by his side and help him fight these men. He will be back.

We go to the back and Heenan is with Gene. He says they're going to try and put Humpty back together, but he's a broken man thanks to Bundy and Studd. Andre went after them and tried to hurt them, so Bobby tried to protect Studd and he needed Bundy's help to stop a raving mad giant. He hopes Hogan saw what happened tonight because a new champion is coming and his name is Bundy.

Finally got ASW back after a few weeks of no shows on file. Sadly, i don't have any more until October.

Match#1 Paul Orndorff vs AJ Pertruzi
Jesse does another amazing job of selling the little things as he says Paul has bags under his eyes because he's scared of the bounty and who might try and collect, and he should be. Paul targets the leg this week for something different. Cool offence to hit when he smacks it against the post or beats the hell out of it with strikes, and he's super mean about it in a cool thing to sell all the shit he's been through the last few months. Paul breaks out a sick flying knee drop to the leg!!! He wins with the Piledriver.
**

Match#2 Uncle Elmer vs Terry Gibbs
Eww, short and horrid. Fat man legdrop ends my pain.
1/2*

Match#3 Ricky Steamboat & Junkyard Dog vs Ted Grizzly & Tiger Chung Lee

Like their last one, Ricky does the work and JYD's cooked ass adds nothing to it at all. He's over and makes the company money and i get it, but fuck it's not fun to watch at all. Crossbody ends it.
THUMP YA FUCKING SELF

Match#4 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Red Walsh

Funk goes right to the murder as he wastes zero times before he lays waste to this doofus. Gross array of punches and kicks in between hurling him all over the place for a few minutes. Terry fights him on the outside and punches his body into the concrete in another classic Terry Funk moment. He gives the kid some space to climb on the apron, AND HE CHARGES AT HIM FULL FORCE AND TAKES OUT HIS LEG WITH A SHOULDERBLOCK. AMAZING. He throws him back and kicks the fuck out of him some more, and he gets more and more angry and violent. Sleeper kills the kid dead.
**3/4

Post match, he brands him.

Body Shop! He brings on Sheik, Nik & Blassie because this act is getting more TV time despite it being over and not in any cool. Jesse says they're not getting rematches since the Express stole the titles, and Nic says they're scared of the real champion and the real men. Sheik rants a lot and lifts some weights to close the show.

Match#5 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Rick McGraw
Randy makes Liz open the ropes for him for the first time ever, and then he yells at her for not standing in the right place and kicks her out of the ring. Gino says maybe she's a manger in name only, and Jesse says he's going to try and talk to her later. Randy is now shouting a lot in his matches about how cool and tough he is, and it's so cool and adds more to an already perfect gimmick. He beats Rick down as he does to everyone now that he has his routine set up, and Ricky really leans into every bump to make it even better. He gives him some offence and bumps big before he shuts him down with the axe handle and goes to work on his wreaking his shit. Elbow Drop does it.

Jesse is on commentary this week!! Can't wait for this to become the norm.

Match#1 Killer Bees vs Terry Adam & Tiger Chung Lee
The Bees make the famous mistake of giving jobbers offence to make it seem like a struggle, and these two are so bad it drags it down. Bee finally shuts them down and goes on a nice run to make it better, but we never need to see offence from Tiger again. Brunzelle wins with a flying crossbody.
3/4*

At ringside, Jesse says he voted for Elizabeth for manger of the year, and Vince says she's not on the ballot as she only debuted last week. Jesse is very mad and says he'll vote for Heenan then.

WWF Update-
-Wonderful still has a bounty on his head and he's mad as hell about it.

Match#2 Don Muraco w/Mr Fuji vs Jimmy Jackson
YES. Don punches the hell out of the jobbers head and neck and locks in a gross looking front face lock, and it's so cool to see him adding all this new stuff to an already stacked offence. Wicked Spike Tombstone ends it
**

Mean Gene-
-Hulk Hogan has all of LA watching his back when he fights another stinky giant. He called his buddies at Gold Gym and they said if he loses he can't come home, and this is the battle for everything that matters to him. He's on a roll and he's wired on the high test and there is not a man that can put him down. He is going to put Studd down on the canvas, and he has Mr T watching his back if Heenan tries anything.

Match#3 Cousin Luke w/Hillbillies vs Ron Shaw
Oh cool, another one of them is here. Vince says Elmer is getting married soon (which is going to be a thing in a few weeks) Jesse asks if he's marrying a female pig, and says he hopes he won't be invited to it. Luke is really bad as well as he throws crumby lariats and wins with a dogshit mule kick.
Fuck off

Interviews-
-Jack Reynolds is now here for some reason.
-JYD walks on and speaks about Ricky and Tito having his back in street fights against these lowdown cowards, and he ain't scared of anyone in LA. His backside will be watched and it's all good.

Before the next match, Dino Bravo makes his debut and walks out to the ring and shakes hands with a jobber whose about to face Adonis. Adrain is none too happy about Bravo being here and mouths off behind his back. Hate Bravo so much, but we'll cover that when we need to.

Match#4 Adrain Adonis w/Bobby Heenan vs Micheal Sexton
Sadly only 50 seconds as bad wrestlers get more time. Running powerslam ends it
1/2*

Piper's Pit with Bobby Heenan & John Studd. They show clips of Hogan's new cartoon show and it looks amazing (i will not review, but it would be fun to do it
https://letterboxd.com/_Donnie_/) Piper says it's not right that Andre has hair in the show after Studd cut it all off. Studd then takes out his doll and he and Piper have a fight with their toys and the Andre doll is beaten up. Ok, that sucked and it's the last thing the pit should be used for.

Match#5 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Joe Mirto
Randy is wearing the famous Purple and yellow get up and it's the best look a wrestler has ever had. This another super mean and violent Savage squash as he has it all down pact in what he does and how he does it, and it's sick as hell but not a lot to write about. Elbow does the deed.
**

POST MATCH HE HITS AN EVEN BETTER SECOND ONE JUST TO DO IT.

Mean Gene-
-Ace Orton is still wearing the cast, and he says it will be on for the rest of his career and he's sick of answering this. It didn't heal right and he has to wear it until he quits wrestling then he can have re-broke and fixed. The other wrestlers won't be happy, but he's not here to make them happy. He's here to make money for his family and win matches.

They air the final minutes of the tag title switch.

Match#6 Ricky Steamboat vs Mr Fuji
Ricky rushes him and chokes him with the belt for some sweet revenge, and Vince says this is justified and more than fair. Ricky beats the crap out of him, and Fuji actually takes some cool bumps and does a lot for Ricky. Fuji catches him with a double thrust to the throat to the take over and works a nerve hold, but Ricky at least sells it makes it work better than anyone else could. Ricky catches him with the crossbody and then schoolboys him for the win.
**

Post match, Ricky celebrates in the aisle, BUT DON RUNS OUT FROM BEHIND AND BREAKS A WOODEN CHAIR OVER HIS HEAD AND LEAVES HIM LAYING. FUCK YEAH.

Jesse is on the call again as Bruno and his son are wrestling tonight. Goddamn it, fuck me.

Match#1 Mike Rotundo & Junkyard Dog w/Lou Albano vs Dave Barbie & Tiger Chung Lee
Barry is still here for a few more weeks, so i'm assuming this is to sell the cigar attack. This sucks as Mike does boring mat work and JYD is a fat hack that sucks at everything good. Airplane spins ends it.
1/2*

WWF Update-
-Hulk and Paul are good pals and will remain so forever and forever. No doubt about it.

Match#2 Ricky Steamboat vs Jim Hayley
The jobber attacks from behind like a bitch and beats poor Ricky down for a while. Our hero fights back and chokes him with his belt and fucks him for being a punk dweeb. Awesome angry offence and the jobber is a big boy who takes a heck of an ass kicking to his credit. Crossbody does it after Ricky hits a sick brainbuster to murder him dead.
**

Mean Gene-
-Wonderful storms on and says he's fighting for his life every damn day and he's had more than enough of this. To get Piper in a cage is like having two dogs fight to the death, and he's going to rip him apart. He's going to take all the hate the fans have for Piper and use it for himself. He doesn't want to feel his face get ripped by the cage, but he'll walk in like a man and walks out like one.

Mean Gene-
-Piper is up. He says Wonderful is living proof that you can make millions and still have no idea what you are doing at any time. He says Wonderful is talking about dogs and all that, and this will be a nasty fight where a man may lose an eye. He says Paul has promised the only way he will lose is over his dead body, well maybe they can work that out.

Match#3 Tito Santana & Pedro Morlaes vs Barry O & John Rizo
Oh joy. Really horrible as Pedro is beyond cooked and washed, and Tito can only do so much when he's got nothing to work with. Forearm does it.
1/2*

Piper's Pit with Corp Krichner. He says he's not afraid to be here as he was in the army. Piper is confused and asks if he means the Navy, and Corp is mad at that. Piper says when he gets back from war 7 years ago and got spat on for killing innocent people and couldn't get a job, how did he feel then. Corp gets angry and says these are his people and he is proud to be an American. What a fucking dweeb.

Match#4 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Rick Hunter
Vince says last week on a show we didn't see, Randy sent Liz into the ring to talk to Hogan and ask why he won't fight Randy for the title. Vince says it's a coward act to send a woman, and Jesse says it's smart. The banter already rules. Another killer one for Randy as's become the best squash guy in the company along with Muraco and Funk. Elbow does it.
**

Post match, Randy rips up a Hogan sign.

Match#5 Bruno & David Samartino vs Steve Lombardi & Mr X
Vince gushes over how good Bruno looks at 500 years old, and it's really a sign this stupid fuck was always a little twisted and broken despite everything he's done and will do. This stinks as David does nothing but basics (as it's all he can do) and Bruno is old and only there to make people watch his doofus son. David wins with his powerslam.
1/2*

Post match, Bruno dares Jesse to get in and fight him, but Jess smartly doesn't take the bait. He says it's 2 on 1 and he can't count on a loser like Vince to be his partner, so this ain't happening. He says it's nice to see a senior citizen doing so well, and Vince shoots him the most amazing look to close the show.

Bret Hart vs Dynamite Kid (14/9)
We are finally here. Super intense start as they lock right up and fight for every inch of control. and you can see them helping to change the game in real time. DK is established as faster and possibly stronger as he catches Bret and kills him with a gross slingshot to the ropes and Bret takes a wild bump right over the top to the floor. DK keeps it up and catches Bret at every turn and really belts the shite out of him. Hart finally pulls DK down by the hair to get him to stop and he kills him with a knee to the guts, and he takes over and beats the crap out of him. Super intense and mean as hell offence as you'd expect, and DK's selling is wonderful as he crumples over in pain. and really goes out of his way for Bret in his first major singles match for this push. Bret breaks out the uppercuts to the jaw and good lord each one is nastier than the last. DK counters a backbreaker into one of his own to finally drop him. Bret ties him in the ropes and runs at him, BUT DK GETS LOOSE AND DUCKS UNDER AND BRET TAKES HIMSELF OUT ON THEM AND DK FIGHTS BACK AND KICKS THE SNIOT OUT OF HIM. BRET TAKES THE FAMOUS CORNER BUMP TO THE CHEST AND BOUNCES OFF AND DK DROPS A KNEE TO FURTHER FUCK HIM UP. They keep fighting and DK counters an attempted backdrop into a rollup and he steals the win.

Post match, Anvil joins in and beats the crap out of DK, but Davey makes the save and cleans house on them. Give me that blood feud right now.

Match#1 Uncle Elmer & Cousin Junior vs Barry O & Jerry Adams

JIP thankfully. Really awful for the short stuff we get as neither man looks good in the least, and a tag squash where they both have to do the work makes it even more terrible. Junior wins with a running splash.
1/2*

WWF Update-
-Andre is recovering at home and wants his revenge after the attack of Bundy.

Match#2 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Jimmy Jackson
The kid slaps Funk off the break to show some ball, and Funk responds by beating him to death with all the amazing brutal strikes he can muster. Terry cracks him with a headbutt and drops him over and over. He again beats the crap out of a jobber on the outside and it adds so much to a match because he's always doing something cool. He locks in the sleeper and screams for JYD as he kills the kid for the win.
**

Post match, he brands him.

Mean Gene-
-Lanny Poffo reads a poem about cops not being respected despite risking their lives.
-This has nothing to do with wrestling, you goofy bastard.

Match#3 Corp Krichner vs Steve Lombardi
So glad WWF fucked over Slaughter and ran him off to the AWA, so now we're stuck with this dweeb. Like, yeah Krich is an actual vet and not a fraud like Sarge in that respect, but he can't wrestle and i hate him. Lombardi works his ass off to try and make it work, but Corp K is bad and sucks at even doing the basics so it's not worth it. Samoan Drop ends it.
1/2*

Mean Gene-
-Randy Savage & Elizabeth. Gene says her dress is stunning and she is very pretty, and she tries to talk and Randy shuts her down and tells her told her not to speak before they came out here. He kicks off the set. He says he could have had any woman he wanted and he picker her for some reason. He could have picked Gene to be his corner, but that's nothing doing. He's going to talk to her later and it won't be good. He then drops Tito Santana's name and says he's coming for him. YES.

Match#4 British Bulldogs vs John Rizo & Tiger Chung Lee
Vince says the dogs give up size and strength, so Jesse jumps in and says they have zero body fat and stronger than anyone else. Fuck yeah. DK beats the shit out of Rizo and hits a fucking plancha when he knocks him to the floor. Davey does some awesome stuff as well before they win with the Ode to themselves.
**

Piper's Pit with Studd, Bundy & Bobby Heenan. They say the same shit they've been saying for months and months about the bounty on Wonderful, and ending Andre's career. Don't care.

In the ring, Gene is standing by with Bobby Heenan & Hillbilly Jim Lou Albano for the manager of the year award. Bobby says all the other managers have agreed to proxy their votes to Bobby. He now has 519, 117 votes and that means he's won. He grabs the trophy and parades around the ring, but Jim asks how many he has. Gene says a little of 300k, so Jim says he's going to give his to Lou Albano so he can win. BOBBY THEN SMASHES THE TROPHY OVER LOU'S HEAD AND STUDD AND BUNDY GETS IN THE RING AND ATTACK JIM. HEENAN SMASHES THE REST OF THE TROPHY!! BUNDY KILLS JIM WITH TWO RUNNING SPLASHES BEFORE THE OTHER HILLBILLIES RUN OUT FOR THE SAVE. Amazing stuff.

Match#5 Dream Team w/Johnny Valiant vs Salvatore Bellomo & Jim Young
Vince says Jim has suspected broken ribs. Really good squash from the Dreamers as Hammer again does the work and Brutus is on cleanup duty and he's ok at that role. Jesse says next week he's going to team with Randy Savage to show Bruno and his idiot son how it's done. Sadly, the tape cuts out before we get a finish.

Ricky Steamboat vs Don Muraco (Lumberjack Match-22/9)
Ricky attacks right away as he's beyond mad for once after everything. Don takes some wild bumps on everything including a handstand off a chop to the face, and it's borderline silly but he does it so well that it works. Don manages to shove Ricky outside to the heel side of the jacks and they beat him down until the faces save him. Don kicks the crap out of him back in the ring and we get some classic Ricky selling for a couple of minutes, and there is no one better at this. Ricky makes a quick comeback and Don runs for it, but the faces throw him back into the ring. Orton throws a punch at Ricky, so all the jacks start fighting. Ricky counters a backdrop and rams Don into Orton and rolls him up to steal it.

Andrian Adonis w/Bobby Heenan vs Rick McGraw (23/9-MSG)
High time i got to watch more Adrain before the famous gimmick change in a few months, which i am not sure how it will affect his in ring work. So, yeah enjoy what i can get. Plus, Rick is dead soon and i always like to see him in ring. Really fun mat work to start with Adonis targeting the arm. Good mean work on it as bends and hits it, and is always making sure to do something interesting. A small lost art form imo. He gets tired of and starts beating him up when he hurls him to the floor, and Rick takes a nasty bump onto the concrete shoulder first. Awesome selling as he can't lift it, nor can he drag himself back into the ring. Gorilla points out you can't win with the other guy on the outside, and Jesse says it's a game of leverage and you want to be higher than lower. Adrian gets him back in and further wreaks the arm in fun fashion, but it does get a little long in the tooth given it's a showcase match. Rick makes a comeback and goes for Adrain's arm in revenge and does some fun work on it, but Adrian gets a flash DDT to win.
**1/2

In the back, Randy says he's fighting Hogan tonight in the form of Paul Roma, and he's going to hurt him and beat him up. YEAH DIG IT.

Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Paul Roma.
Randy and Liz are wearing matching blue and silver in another amazing combo, and i adore them so much. Awesome showcase for Randy as unlike Adrian just did, he's smart enough just to batter a geek and show everyone why he's a star. He runs through him with his stuff and then wins with two elbow drops.
**

Andre The Giant w/Lou Albano vs King Kong Bundy w/Jimmy Hart
Shocked they're doing this so quick given Andre is still off TV at this point, but it's a white hot new feud so it makes sense in that regard. ANDRE SHOVES HIM INTO THE CORNER AND STARTS STRANGLING HIM AND SHAKING HIM BACK AND FORTH!!!!!!! Bundy fits in far better than Studd ever did as his selling and bumps rule, and he can match Andre for strikes and make it a fight. It turns into a slug fest and Andre backhands him, so Bundy goes for body shots to the injured ribs and sternum. Bundy manages to drop him to a knee and goes right on the attack with strikes and using his body to lean all his weight on Andre to really mess him up some more. Andre grabs a an arm and uses his hand to squash the back of Bundy's head in amazing visual. Andre then does a fucking triangle choke of sorts when he wraps his legs around Bundy's head and neck and rips his arm back. MMA Andre >>>>>>>> MMA Taker. Andre is one of the only wrestler who can be face and control a match and have it work. Bundy doesn't really fight out, instead of laying there until he can finally reach the ropes. It's an odd choice, but i sort of love that even a monster like him can't beat a true freak of nature. Andre says fuck that as he kills him with a headbutt when they get back up and Bundy takes a crazy bump the floor falling right onto his back. They get back into and it sort of stops being fun as both men are gassed and are struggling and it gets ugly for a while. Andre hits the splash, but Studd runs out and attacks for the DQ.
**3/4

Post match, they double team him and Bundy splashes him in the corner again. Andre manages to get free and grabs a chair and runs them off.

Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart vs British Bulldogs
After years and years of the tag division being the worst thing WWF has to offer, we are finally here where it all changes for the better in one of the greatest runs of any company. DK goes full tilt right away and runs through Bret with his freakish speed and strength, and Hart bumps like crazy for him at every turn. Anvil and Davey get in and have a fun power battle for a while, and Davey is quicker and has more impact and Anvil is thrown off. Bret takes over on DK and we get out first long and awesome control seg from the boys. Awesome power stuff from Anvil and great Bret offence as you'd expect. DK takes a great beating and bumps all over, and for a jacked little monster it's killer to watch him die on everything. He takes the Bret corner bump and hits it at a insane speed and bounces all the fucking way back into the middle of the ring. All time freak of nature. Awesome cut offs on DK's attempted comebacks, and Davey flips his shit and tries to get to them, only to make it worse on DK each time he does it. Bret misses a charge and it allows DK to make the tag, and Davey goes nuts and pinballs them all over the joint before the match breaks down (trademarking that). Davey gets hit with the Hart Attack, but DK comes off the other side and kills Bret with a flying headbutt and throws Davey out and makes the pin with his head down and steals the win.
***1/4

Post match, the Foundation attack them and beat the shit out of them. Bret gets the megaphone, AND HE SMACKS DAVEY IN THE FACE AND BUSTS HIM OPEN!! The ref finally gets them to leave as DK checks on his hurt partner.

Don Maurco w/Mr Fuji vs Ricky Steamboat
Don attacks Ricky during the intros and it turns into another wild hate filled fight that i can't hype up enough. Just everything that a blood feud is meant to be after months and months of trying to maim each other. They choke each other again with Ricky's karate belt, and both men have amazing facial sells of it. Don drops him on his neck and rams him into the rail, and we get a sick control seg as he finally gets to unload a beating without any bullshit. He works on the neck and is as mean and petty as possible, and hey Ricky Steamboat sells it really fucking well. He holds it or looks like he's about to pass out as Don gets more and more brutal each chance he gets. Ricky finally sends him into the post and comebacks with his karate shots and arm drags, and Don puts on another immense bumping display. Ricky sends him onto the top of the turnbuckle and buts him open, AND HE GOES AFTER THE CUT WITH PUNCHES AND CHOPS AND SHOWS OFF THE BLOOD ON HIS HAND TO THE CROWD. FUCK YEAH. Ricky keeps it and goes for the crossbody but that shithead Fuji throws salt in his eyes for the DQ.

Sadly, Bruno is back on the call.

Before the first match, Mean Gene presents Tito with the brand new IC championship. It's the famous version that will be used until March 30th, 1998.

Match#1 Ricky Steamboat, Tito Santana & Pedro Morales vs Chuck Greene, Spot & Tiger Chung Lee
So close to them running the best tag team back, but i can't have nice things. Still, sick as hell babyface work from the great as they use their strength and speed to run circles around these dweeb clowns. Pedro is nothing as always, but he's kept away for the most, which is by far the best choice if he has to be here. Ricky wins with the crossbody.
**

WWF Update-
-Mean Gene is standing by with the Express. Barry is wearing an eyepatch and he says he's very lucky he didn't lose his eye, but he's slowly getting better. He's still not cleared as he can't risk anyone hurting it but he will be back soon.
-They will not be back soon as they're gone in the next few weeks. Lying is not nice, guys.

Before the next match, Fink announces that Adrain Adonis is now being managed by Jimmy Hart!!!! They come out to a new them being sung by Jimmy himself in a really cool moment for him. Can't stand the little shit, but this is a great thing for anyone to happen. Also, this is super important for a major feud in 1986.

Match#2 Adrian Adonis w/Jimmy Hart vs Jim Young
Adrian schools him on the mat and lays waste to him. Heenan joins commentary and laughs at what he did last week, and says he won the contest fair and square and it's his trophy and he won't be made a fool of. Heenan says made more money for selling Adrian and Link to Jimmy than any other deal of his life. Vince says he heard he couldn't control Adrian, and Bobby says he's a little crazy but this is for the best. Adrain wins with a top rope closeline.
*3/4

Mean Gene-
-JYD is going to bite and eat Terry Funk and Jimmy Hart the first chance he gets.

Match#3 Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/Freddie Blassie vs Sal Gee & Jose Luis Rivera
Another lame ass outing for these two. I don't want to hate or be a prick, but man it's just not fun at all watching them move at half speed and bring nothing good or fun to any match. Clutch ends it.
1/2*

Mean Gene-
-Paul Orndroff will be facing Piper in a lumberjack match in LA.
-I don't have footage, so we'll move on.

Match#4 Paul Orndorff vs Gino Carobello
Paul works the back this week to again change things up, and it's always nice to see people not get lazy and therefore upset me. Piledriver does the deed.
*3/4

Piper's Pit w/Uncle Elmer. Piper says he's getting married in the next week and he wants to know why he's doing it on TV. Elmer says everyone would come to his wedding, but no one would come to Piper's. He rings his cowbell and Piper asks if she's wearing bag over her head, and Elmer says she weighs 125 like Piper does. Piper asks about the honeymoon, and Elmer says that's not his business. Piper calls him a goofball as Elmer keeps ringing the bell.

Match#5 Ivan Putski & Lanny Poffo vs Joe Mirto & Mike Gola
EWWWWWWW BROTHER

PSA; Tito wants you to eat a good meal every morning.

Match#6 Randy Savage & Jesse Ventura w/Miss Elizabeth vs Mario Mancini & Joe Price
Jesse actually steps up and throws good strikes and works hard to match Randy. It's still not amazing or anything, as he's a dull wrestler, but the effort is rad. Randy is amazing as always and goes full tilt on both the jobbers in amazing form. He wins with the Elbow.
*3/4

Post match they hug, and then Randy yells at Liz for smiling at Jesse and chases her out of the ring. He gets back in and he and Jess dare Bruno to fight them. Please don't.
