WWF THE WRESTLING CLASSIC
NOVEMBER 7TH, 1985
ROSEMONT HORIZON
CHICAGO, IL

This is the VHS version with Vince in the studio explaining the tournament and how hard it was for someone to win this many matches in one night.

We go backstage to Vince and Lord Alfred looking at the brackets listed on an actual board in a cool little thing. The coolest match is Steamboat vs Davey Boy in the 1st round!!!

Monsoon and Ventura are our commentators

Match#1 Adrian Adonis w/Jimmy Hart vs Corporal Krichner (1st Round)
Only 3 minutes, sadly as it one of those shows. Adrain guides the idiot through some stuff and bumps big to really help him out. Adonis counters a suplex into a DDT to steal it.
*3/4

Match#2 Dynamite Kid vs Nikolai Volkoff (1st Round)

Nik sings his anthem to start, so DK climbs up the top and catches him with a dropkick to in in 4 seconds.
Poop

Match#3 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Ivan Putski (1st Round)

Randy gets 2 minutes to work because life is pain. He stalls a lot and bumps like crazy for the old man in amazing form. He rolls him up and puts his feet on the ropes to steal it
*

Match#4 Ricky Steamboat vs Davey Boy Smith (1st Round)
Also 3 minutes. Fuck. Awesome back and forth though as they go hold for hold and show off some strength and whatnot, and it's good shit and i wish we had a longer match to view. Davey starts to move ahead with a sick gorilla press and a headlock and he looks to have it, but he gets crotched on the top rope when he misses a tackle and the ref calls it in a real bullshit ending.
**

Post match, Ricky checks on Davey to make sure his balls are ok.

Match#5 Iron Sheik vs Junkyard Dog (Round 1)
JIP. Also, i think the VHS has all the interviews cut which sucks, but it also makes it easier to watch. They have a horrible fat old man fight for 3 minutes, and the crowd being white hot is the only saving grace of an otherwise bad time. JYD wins with a headbutt.
1/2*

We go back to the ring where Funk has a mic saying he doesn't want to wrestle Moondog Spot. He says they should leave the ring and settle for a draw and go home.

Match#6 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Moondog Spot (1st Round)
They go on the outside and Funk punches him in the head and tries to run into the ring, but Spot grabs him and they fight some more and Spot jumps back in to win via countout.
FUCK YOU

Post match, Funk beats the shit out of him and rants and raves.

Match#7 Don Muarco w/Mr Fuji vs Tito Santana (1st Round)
FOUR MINUTES, MY GOODNESS. Awesome slug fest between the two old foes to start, and they still have that amazing chemistry as nothing has been lost thankfully. Don gets a control seg and beats his head in after dropping him throat first on the ropes, and it's killer stuff as always. Tito is powerslamed and the pin is made, but his foot is the ropes and Don doesn't realise so he thinks he won. Tito pops back up and hooks a cradle to steal it.
**1/4

In the back, Mean Gene is with Bobby Heenan. Bobby says he's scouting new talent and watching this very, very closely. He's got 50 grand for Bob Orton if he beats Orndorff, or anyone else who takes him out. He tells that punk to get ready because he can't wait to see hm finally go down to a headhunter. So cool they at least gave me a Heenan promo.

Match#8 Bob Orton vs Paul Orndorfff (1st Round)
Six and half minutes!!!!! Ahhhh, you love to see it. Paul goes right for the "hurt" arm and has some fantastic pissed off work on it, and Orton's selling and attempted escapes are even better with how badly he tries and fails to get out of it. Ace catches him with a knee to the gut and goes to work with some cool elbows and shots with the cast, and Monsoon says he's a wrestlers wrestler and it's a shame he's such a bad man. Paul makes a sweet comeback and pinballs him all over to give us some amazing Orton bumps. Orton loads up his cast and cracks Wonderful in the face for the DQ
**3/4

Post match, Wonderful comes back to life and punches him and runs him off.

in the back, Vince and Alfred go over the 1st round matches and all the shocks and turns we've gotten thus far. We get the list of quarterfinals

-Dynamite Kid vs. Adrian Adonis
-Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat
-The Junkyard Dog vs. Moondog Spot
-Tito Santana vs. Paul Orndorff

Match#9 Adrian Adonis w/Jimmy Hart vs Dynamite Kid (Quarterfinals)
Jesse leaves commentary to go and speak to Macho Man about his match. This is 5 awesome minutes of big bumps and awesome strikes from two all times freaks and crazy motherfuckers to ever do it. Adonis works the legs and does some super mean stuff, and DK sells it really well as you'd expect. Adrian misses a spear and hits the post and brains himself, and DK fights back and kicks the shit out of him. DK runs Adrian into Jimmy and rolls him up to win.
**3/4

Post match, Adrian throws a fit and cries about his loss.

In the back, Gene is with Jesse. Jess says two heads are better than one and three heads are better than one, and with him watching everyone in this and seeing all the flaws, he's told Randy what he needs to do. He will be unbiased with his commentary as he's the man who tells it like it is.

Match#10 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Ricky Steamboat
Liz is now in a yellow dress to start the trend of her changing clothes during shows like this. Savage uses her a shield and a sick fight breaks out with Ricky using his karate to fuck Savage up. It turns into a crazed sprint with a million cool shots and counters, and like Savage/Tito, i can not wait for this feud, They keep having a killer back and forth and both men get closer and closer to ending it. Randy gets an object out of his tights and when Ricky tries to backdrop him back in, he punches Steamboat in the face to knock him out to steal it.
**3/4

Match#11 Junkyard Dog vs Moondog Spot (Quarterfinals)

50 seconds of shit before JYD wins with a headbutt.
THUMP FUCK

In the back we go back to Gene and Heenan. Bobby again says he's here to scout from every vantage point to see what he can see and learn more. He says you never know who the best talent is, and Wonderful and Tito is a treat. Hogan is tired after all his defences and is ready to be picked and there will be a new champion tonight.

Match#12 Paul Orndorff vs Tito Santana (Quarterfinals)
EIGHT MINUTES LORD HAVE MERCY. Really great tight mat work to start with his being fought fairly, but as hard and mean as possible while keeping that trend. Tito has his leg taped up after his last match, and Jesse says it was a stupid move for him to be in when he already has a title. Paul eventually goes for the leg because why not? and we get some awesome work on it as Paul goes back to his roots as a super mean muscle head. He knocks Santana to the floor and follows him out, and yeah you guess it double fucking countout.
**1/2

JYD now gets a bye to the finals despite being a babyface and now forcing Randy to work again. Morons.

In the back, Hogan says he's going to finally put Piper down and end this for all the Hulkamaniacs

Match#13 Hulk Hogan (c) vs Roddy Piper (WWF World Championship)
They get right to it and fight on the outside with Piper taking a wicked bump over the rail and then getting his ass kicked some more by Hogan. Piper goes to the eyes like a little shit and we some wild punches and biting for a while, and it's good shit. He locks in a sleeper and Hogan's selling is awesome as he really dies on it and makes Piper look like a killer even more than he already is. Hulk fights back and wreaks his day for a while until Piper shoots him off into the ref. He gets a chair and smacks Hogan in the back with it, but Hogan gets it off him and beats the fuck out of him a couple of really good shots. He locks in a sleeper but Orton runs out and attacks for the DQ.
**3/4

Post match, they double team until Wonderful makes the save and cleans house and poses with his bff.

Match#14 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Dynamite Kid (Semifinals)
Liz is now in a stunning red dress. Wonderful battle for control to start with DK getting the best of it because of his speed, so Savage turns into a fight and both madmen throw some killer shots and bump around big. DK nails a sick superplex but Randy hooks the legs and cradles him to win.
**1/2

In the back, Gene speaks to Hogan. Hulk says everyone expected Piper to get it done tonight, but neither of them have had enough and Orton can get some to. He challenges them to round 3 in a tag match. Wonderful says they're always getting involved in their matches since Mania, and they're blood now and they're fighting together forever.

Match#15 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Junkyard Dog (Wrestling Classic Finals)
Liz is now wearing a purple dress. This is 9 minutes in our longest match of the night, but damn it JYD should never get that long. Randy works his ass off as best he can to make it work. From stooging and stalling for a while, to bumping big and finally beating JYD's head in when he gets a chance to. Gene joins commentary to talk about how amazing this show has been, and it feels like Vince tempting fate. JYD does nothing to add to this and it's super sad but very funny seeing how goddamn lazy and bad he. is. Savage has a fun control seg with lots of choking and cheating, and JYD sort of bothers to sell it. JYD fights back and Savage bumps his ass off again. JYD backdrops out of the ring onto the concrete in a crazy bump and he's knocked out cold and the ref counts him out to give JYD the win.
**1/2

Post match, Jesse storms the ring and screams this isn't fair after Savage had to wrestle more than anyone else in here, and JYD got to sit on his fat backside. He demands they reverse it, but he gets ignored and keeps ranting and raving.

This show was meant to be ran again in January as Vince figured it would be a hit as Mania was, but it did a disappointing 47,000 buys and the show was cancelled and never really bought up again in WWF/E history.

Tonight; Hulk Hogan in action!!!!!!

Match#1 Hillbilly Jim & Uncle Elmer w/Junior vs Joe Mirto & Danny Bowlin
DON'T GO MESSING WITH A COUNTRY BOY.

WWF Update-
-They show the amazing "Land of 1000 Dances" for the first time.

Match#2 Big John Studd w/Heenan Family vs Sal Gee
You'd think Bundy would get the showcase matches given he's the pushed one, but nope still making the world suffer this big oaf. Andre joins commentary and challenges them to another match. STOP IT GODDAMN IT. Studd wins with his dogshit elbow after 4 horrid minutes.
Poop

Post match, Bundy kills the kid with a sick splash.

Mean Gene-
-JYD walk on and he's very happy about winning the classic and now having a hit song on the WWF album.

Before the next match, the Bulldogs announce Lou Albano as their new manager.

Match#3 British Bulldogs vs Mr X & The Menace
What a name for the jobber. Dogs are all fired and coked up as they beat the fuck out of these masked goons. Wonderful combo of speed and power and zero care for the jobbers lives or safety at any point. DK wins with a MOTHERFUCKER of a Superplex.
**

Mean Gene-
-Ricky Steamboat has gotten his can kicked time and time again by Muaco, but he's not crying about it. His eyes are red after SNME and they burnt his skin and eyes for 48hrs, and he felt the darkside overtake his heart and soul. The Dragon is now going to breath some fire towards them.

Match#4 Paul Orndorff vs The Gladiator
Bruno is confused as to why there are so many masked wrestlers on the show tonight, leading to Vince giving a massive belly laugh. Hate and love these two so much as a duo. Good squash from Paul with some nice strikes and some roughhousing, but it's not as a great as his normal work. Piledriver ends it.
*1/2

Piper's Pit starts with Piper bragging about beating everyone up, and then JYD walks on with his chair and stares them down. Piper calls him "cream" and asks for some skin brother. Piper says this goofball made a song and thinks he's a star now with grab them cakes, but that's a silly title for a song and the girl who sang it with him isn't even here. Piper can't understand why anyone likes this when his song is far better. He throws the mic down and walks off.

Match#5 The Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart vs Jimmy Jackson & Steve Gatorwolf
So, i did a google search on Gatorwolf to learn more, and holy shit fuck him. (NSFW gross stuff)This is once again a sick squash now that they're both so amazing in their roles. They murder Jackson and never let the cree[ get in, thankfully. Heart Attack ends it.
**

Hogan walks out to the ring for his match, and Miss Elizabeth follows and grabs the mics and says on behalf of Randy Savage she would like to know why he doesn't fight anyone with some credentials

Match#6 Hulk Hogan vs Rusty Brookes
Hogan murders the fat man in 30 seconds as Randy and Liz watch on. Legdrop does it
BROTHER

SAVAGE JUMPS OFF THE ROPES AND TAKES HOGAN OUT!! THEY BRAWL AND HOGAN GETS THE BEST OF IT AND HOLDS THE RING. LIZ GETS HIM TO LEAVE AS HOGAN DEATH STARES HIM. RANDY KEEPS TRYING TO GET BACK IN, BUT LIZ IS ABLE TO DRAG HIM BACK AS HOGAN POSES. That fucking ruled.

Match#1 Corp Krichner & Lanny Poffo vs Johnny K-9 & Frank Marconi

What the fuck is that babyface team? Ugly as sin as no one in this is good at all, so yeah massive bag of shit. Samoan Drop does it.
1/2*

The music video is replayed.

Match#2 Don Muraco w/Mr Fuji vs Warcloud
Assuming Strongfake has hired more of his pals now that's he's retired. Don gets a few minutes to cook and it rules as he batters the kid with shots and great neck work as always. Fuji gets in on the fun as well with a cane shot to the kid, and hell yeah more the merrier. Tombstone does it.
**

Mean Gene-
-Johnny V walks on and again cuts a promo about how awesome cigars are, and how good his boys are. Gene is confused as to why he calls them that, and he says because he's like a father to them. Tito and Pedro are great wrestlers and champions, but they are egomaniacs and prima donnas, so this will be easy.

Match#3 Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart vs George Jodin & Greg Goulet
Another sick as hell squash as our guys become the best team in the world without holding the titles. The jobbers are small dudes willing to take amazing bumps for the boys, so it's wonderful. Hart Attack ends it.
**

Mean Gene-
-Iron Sheik & Blassie are here. They will be going after the bounty on Wonderful's head so they can buy more watches and cars.

Match#4 Ricky Steamboat vs Mr X
Ricky does his thing for a while, and hey it's gooooood. He's the only man who can do arm drags for 30 seconds and have it be the coolest thing in the world. Crossbody ends it
**

The Body Shop with Jim and Elmer. Jesse makes bath jokes and asks them not touch him as he doesn't want to catch anything. Elmer yells at him and has to be bleeped because he's SO mad at what Jess has said and done to him. Jesse says the pig they fed him was raw and gross, and Jim says it's just like him. Jesse ends it.

Match#5 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Rod Mellow
Good lord this episode is amazing. Randy murders the kid as he's pissed about losing the Classic, and hey that's more than fair. Elbow does it.
**

Post match, he goes for another elbow but the ref stands in his way and refuses to let him jump. Randy gets back down and has his hand raised and leaves.

Match#6 The Dream Team w/Johnny Valiant vs Gatorwolf & Nelson Vildeoux
DT give the creep far too much because he's a big dude and that makes sense, but fuck him. Hammer shuts him down and goes to work with elbows and the like, and it's not too shabby at all. They kill the other kid and that's good as well. Figure Four ends it

Jesse is back on commentary as Bruno is tagging with his son tonight. Lord gives and takes.

Match#1 Mike Rotundo & Junkyard Dog w/Lou Albano vs Dave Barbie & Tiger Chung Lee
"He sings like he has a mouthful of grits" -Jesse. IRS does the bulk of the work as all tags with JYD must go because he's a fat lazy bum that can't be trusted not to fuck it up. It's not interesting at all and mostly sucks the life out of me, so i was screwed either way. Airplane spin does it.
1/2*

WWF Update-
-Hulk Hogan is breaking attendance records wherever he goes in the world.
-Hogan would give it all up for another shot at Piper

Match#2 Ricky Steamboat vs Jim Hayley
Hayley jumps him like a coward and Ricky sells like crazy as he takes beating from a big fat jobber. Ricky fires back and strangles him with his belt and then wreaks his day in amazing fashion. Crossbody does it.
**

Mean Gene-
-Wonderful is again facing Piper in a steel cage in LA, but we have no footage sadly.

Match#3 Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff vs SD Jones & Jim Powers
Another terrible one for these old bastards. Really need better heels asap. Backbreaker ends it
Poop

Match#4 Tito Santana & Pedro Morlales vs Barry O & John Rizzo

Well, this episode is awful. Jimmy Hart joins commentary and says he and Funk have a big surprise next week for JYD. Pedro wins with a move.
Wet fart.

They replay Piper's Pit with Corp K

Match#5 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Rick Hunter
Oh thank you. The fans chant for Hogan and drive him nuts as a result, and he rips a Hogan sign up and beat the fuck out of the jobber in really sick pissed off fashion. Elbow does it.
**

Post match, Randy screams at Fink and rips up another sign.

Match#6 Bruno Sammartino & David Sammartino vs Steve Lombardi & Mr X
Goddamn it. A few very bad minutes from an old man and a dude who can't wrestle. Just brutal to be forced to watch. Powerslam ends it
1/2*

Post match, Jesse taunts and talks shit.

No ASW this week.

Match#1 Hillbilly Jim & Cousin Junior vs AJ Pertruzi & Mr X
Vince sings the song and shouts YE HAWWWWWWWWWWWWW, and it's a perfect look at his brain and what he finds funny and good. Bearhug ends it after some bad wrestling
1/2*

WWF Update-
-We meet the fan who won the rolls. He's an old truck driver and is going to fool around in it.

Match#2 Don Muraco w/Mr Fuji vs Michael Saxton
JIP for some reason. What we do get is another killer beating for a couple of minutes, and that's awesome. Tombstone does it
*3/4

Mean Gene-
-Piper walks on and says he's never met dumber people than those who live in Boston. Bruno used to be the man 12 years ago like no one else, but the book has been written and he's done. It ain't his fault the world laughs at him and thinks he's stupid, WELL HE IS THE LEGEND KILLER AND HE'S GOING TO BEAT HIS BRAINS IN.

Match#3 Dream Team w/Johnny Valiant vs Sal Gee & Ricky Hunter
Brutus works the arm this week and it's not too shabby at all. Mean focused work for a while, and good selling from the jobber. Hammer joins in on the fun and fucks the kid up some more and wins with the Figure Four.
**

Mean Gene-
Randy Savage is confused as to why they call him streamer and dragon when those things expire. He'll never expire. Ricky is facing the best wrestler ever and he shouldn't be worried about losing to him because he told him before the match he was going to lose. He's got a better chance of crawling through the eye of a needle than he does of beating him.

Match#4 Paul Orndorff vs The Menace
Paul has his am in a cast and hits the ring post with it, and Vince is very confused as to why the docs would clear him if it was the case. Bruno says it's a message, and Bruno is correct for once in his life. Paul uses it and beat the shit out of the masked good to send a message that's he can play at their game, and it's good times. Paul wins with a loaded forearm.
**

Piper's Pit with King Tonga. Piper loses his shit and screams that Paul is nothing but a stinking liar and there is nothing wrong with his arm, AND PAUL GETS THE MIC AND SAYS IT'S AS BROKEN AS ACE'S IS. OH FUCK. PIPER'S SAYS HIS ACEY'S ARM IS BROKEN UNLIKE HIS. Piper asks Tonga if Ace's is really broken, and Tonga says no and laughs. Wonderful dares Piper and girlfriend to come on down and prove it's not broken. Piper says they don't come to people, they come to him. Wonderful rushes the stage as Piper says he's out of time and leaves. Wonderful reaches the set and says run with his tail between his legs like he's only good for. He wants him anywhere anyplace. That fucking ruled.

HULK HOGAN ON THE LOVE BOAT.

Match#5 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Garry Starr
Funk snaps right away and murders the kid with a million headbutts and punches and kicks, and it's a complete blast as you'd expect. He wins with a supplex
**

Post match, Funk holds the jobber in place so Jimmy can brand him. More than fair.

WWF MADISON SQUARE GARDEN-25/11

Been a minute since we had an MSG show to watch, so lets dive into one with a few significant debuts and one of the first major screwjobs in wrestling history.

Match#1 Dan Spivey vs Terry Gibbs
Dangerous Dan is here to replace Barry in the Express after he dipped out on the WWF. Admittedly i haven't seen much of his work, but i've liked i what i did see. He moves well and hits hard and looks like an actual crazed giant, and that's enough for me to like him. Gibbs is a lame jobber to give to him out the shoot instead of Lombardi who could do a lot to help out, but it's mostly fine to a point. He wins with a running bulldog as he's actually just Barry.
**

Match#2 Hercules Hernadez w/Freddie Blassie vs Cousin Junior
Herc is famous for the Power and Glory team with Roma, and for being bought by DiBiase as a slave, Weird career tbh. He looks to be just out of wrestling school as he's really not good on offence with some awful looking strikes that either wiff by a mile, or crack poor Junior right in the face. He does a series of running hip attacks and they look marginally better, but that's not saying much. He also sits in a chin lock for a while to bore me. So yeah, fuck this clown. Junior has a bad comeback on top it, so yeah this match is horrid. Herc wins with a bad rollup
POOP

Match#3 Wendi Richter (c) vs The Spider (WWF Women's Championship)

Spider appears to be random jobber in a mask as they wrestle as such, and Wend spend her time kicking her ass in very boring fashion. Spider gets some offence in and it's all bad stomping or choking, so fuck her as well. SPIDER GETS A ROLLUP AND THE REF COUNT 3 DESPITE WENDI KICKING OUT. WHAT THE HELL?
1/2*

POST MATCH WENDI ATTACKS HER AND ACTUALLY THROWS SOME AWESOME PUNCHES AND SHE UNMASKS HER AND IT'S MOOLAH. Oh christ.

So hey this happened because Wendi was refusing to sign a new contract that Vince wanted her to, despite her saying she had already had a 5 year contract and Vince was being a prick about payoffs and whatnot. So he got Moolah to come in under this gimmick and face Wendi and steal the title out from under her. Now, it's been argued that Wendi knew it was Moolah under the mask because she trained her and had wrestled her a bunch of times, and it wouldn't make sense for her not to know it's Moolah when she's wrestling her. But she's outright said she didn't know it was her and she never spoke to her again, so who really knows. Either way, Wendi will leave the WWF and never return until her HOF induction in 2010. The women's title is now dead and buried as Moolah hardly defends it because she'a a 60 year old cunt who is burning in hell, and it eventually gets deactivated in 1990. So as of now i will treat as such. R.I.P see you in 1993 for another ride.

Match#4 Ricky Steamboat vs Don Muraco w/Mr Fuji
Same awesome start as always with Ricky running through him and Don selling his ass off. Sadly, Ricky grabs a headlock and works that for a few minutes and it's pretty goddamn dull and not cool at all. Don fights out and throws him head first into the post to bust him open and goes to work on the cut by biting and punching the hell out of him, and it's wayyyy better. He drags him outside and launches him into the post and further mess him up, and Ricky has a goddamn gusher and then some. Don beats his head in and it gets meaner and meaner with his offence and Ricky takes some wild bumps. The ref gets bumped and they fight over Fuji's cane and Ricky gets it and unloads on Don with shots to the face and head. The ref wakes up and DQ's him.
**3/4

Post match, Ricky throws the ref away and keeps beating the shit out of him and busts him open in revenge by smacking his head off the post. Fuji finally gets him away and they run for it

Match#1 Ricky Steamboat & King Tonga vs Barry O & Joe Mirto

Super fun few minutes of hard shots and crappy jobbers getting their asses kicked as they damn well should. Tonga wins with a flying headbutt
**

WWF Update-
-JYD's Classic win is covered and will never be bought up again.

Match#2 Hercules Hernzadez w/Freddie Blassie vs Mario Mancini
Oh joy, he's on TV now. Another really hideous outing from him as he continues to throw bad shots and looks terrible. He wins with a torture rack just to bother me.
1/2*

Post match, he beats up the jobber and throws him out of the ring.

Mean Gene-
-Lou Albano hypes up all his new charges and how they're all going to hold gold soon enough. They then talk about MS and all the work he has done. Dude has a passion and it's infectious and wonderful see him working his ass off.

Match#3 Lanny Poffo & Corp Krichner vs Gino Carobello & Steve Lombardi
EWWWWWW BROTHER WHAT IS THAT.

Mean Gene-
-Terry Funk and Jimmy Hart. He says his rep was destroyed by JYD hurting his manager and ripping his pants off. He asks Gene if he'd like it if he tore his pants off and burnt his bum, SURE HE'D LIKE IT BECAUSE HE'S A PERVERT JUST LIKE JUNKYARD DOG. AMAZING.

Match#4 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Tony Garea
Tony holds the ropes open for Liz, and Randy snaps attacks him for doing so!! He yells at Liz before going back to kicking the living shit out of him. Wonderful beating that ends with the Flying Elbow
**

Piper's Pit with Trent Acidi. He's a powerlifter with a ton of records and he's good pals with Piper, so they get along and praise each other and how much they can lift. Trent lifts a table to show off.

Match#5 King Kong Bundy w/Bobby Heenan vs Jim Young & Gary Starr
Wooooo Bundy gets to kill two nerds for once and it's the best squash yet. Loads of awesome fat man stuff and the kids die big for him to make it even cooler. Huge Elbow drop does it
**

Match#6 British Bulldogs w/Lou Albano vs Mr X & Rusty Brookes

The dogs murder them and win with the flying headbutt in 30 seconds.

WWF All Star Wrestling
November 30th, 1985

File is only 27 minutes, so we're getting a massive jip.

Match#1 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs SD Jones
SD finally falls to the Macho Maaaaaaaan. YEAH DIG IT. Awesome stooging as he gets tied in the ropes and takes a great beating for SD. He fights back and kicks it into overdrive and belts the shit out of him. Elbow does the deed.
**

Mean Gene-
-Randy walks on and rips up a newpaper and shouts Hulk Hogan is dead as print news. He brings Liz on and asks her if Hogan has a chance and she says no, he then kicks off her set to get the car ready. He is going to be the new WWF champion soon enough as he's the best. No one has ever seen like him and for the first time the WWF champion will be the underdog in the match against the Macho Man.

Match#2 Ricky Steamboat & Dan Spivey vs Terry Gibbs & Terry Adams
Dan gets the Ricky rub for a few minutes and it's pretty fun. He's again a decent big man throwing good shots and the jobbers around, and that's enough to work. Ricky does cool shit for maybe 30 seconds before Dan gets back in and wins with a Powerslam
*3/4

They show footage of Bruno on Piper's Pit

Awesome stuff that sadly leads to Piper getting stuck with Bruno on live events,

The Body Shop opens with Freddie Blassie walking on talking about his new man and how he's never seen someone stronger or tougher than him. Hercules walks on and poses as you'd expect, he cuts a bad promo about Freddie calling him on the phone looking for someone bad and tough, daddy and he got him. Next week he debuts on ASW.

We cut to the end of a Wonderful squash where he's attacked by Ace Orton. They have a sick fight that ends with Wonderful knocking him on his ass with the cast.

Match#3 Dream Team vs Lanny Proffo & Gatorwolf
Hell yeah. DT get some time to work and beat the piss out of a cumrag and Randy's dweeb little brother. Hammer is on one with the elbows that look so nasty and mean and you can hear the crack of each one. Brutus wins with the knee.

Match#1 Tito Santana & Pedro Morales vs The Gladiator & Steve Lombardi

Tito was robbed of WOTY by being stuck with tag partners from hell. He at least gets some offence in and looks awesome, but it's for naught as Pedro is awful and can't match even 1% of what Tito brings to the table. The jobbers also get too much offence in on Tito, so that's even more upsetting. Backbreaker from Pedro does it.
1/2*

WWF Update-
-The Killer Bees are bringing a STING to the WWF.

Match#2 David Sammartino vs Gino Carbello
No i don't think i will

Mean Gene-
-Bruno will be facing Piper in Boston. He's pissed about Piper calling him a stupid wop and he's going to make him pay for it. He's not treating him as a wrestler, he's going to fight him like they're in an alley and he's a rabid dog.

Match#3 Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart vs Jim Powers & Scott McGee
God yes we finally get a great squash from the best team the WWF has given us since my beloved Lumberjacks. They're wearing blue this week which is super jarring and not cool, but they kick the living fuck out of the losers and it's soooooo much fun. Bret takes a wild bump off a dropkick to the floor and gets wreaked for a time and takes more and more awesome bumps. Anvil comes in and turns the tide as he murders Powers with killer power moves all while laughing his balls off. Hart Attack does the deal.
**1/2

Mean Gene-
-More hype for Boston.

Match#4 Paul Orndorff & Dan Spivey vs Rusty Brooks & Terry Gibbs
Big Dan gets another showcase tag match with a super over babyface to get the crowd to give a shit, and it makes him look like a lame duck as a result. Still, super fun as he does well for himself again with power stuff, and Wonderful is great as always. Wonderful wins with a loaded forearm
**

We go to Piper's Pit where Piper has the Dream Team. Hercules, Ace and the Foundation watching his back. Wonderful and Dan stand at the end of the stage as the heels all taunt them and call them cowards who use fake injures to cheat. Ace picks up Piper and he rants that he has friends who don't need casts to win as he's a real man. Hercules grabs the mic and screams that he's strong like a dweeb. Piper blows a kiss and leaves.

Match#5 George Steele w/Lou Albano vs Joe Mirto
Trash stuff from this idiot as always. Hammer lock ends it
Poop

Match#6 Ricky Steamboat & King Tonga vs Ron Shaw & The Menace

The super team puts on another good one for a couple of minutes. Cool karate based offence with loads of kicks and chops and it's a blast. Tonga lifts up the jobber and Ricky jumps off with a crossbody to win

Roddy Piper vs Bruno Sammartino (Boston-7/12)
Bruno jumps him and punches the crap out of him, and we get some incredible bumps and sells from Piper. He gets rammed into the post and is busted open in a sweet gusher, and Bruno stays on the attack and looks awesome to his credit. Piper throws in a lowblow to get him off and goes to work with his famous punches. Each one is mean and focused and really rock the shit out of Bruno. They brawl all over the place and Piper takes some wild bumps again in between throwing more great punches. Bruno's attempted comebacks are really good as he's an old man that can still fight like a motherfucker when needed. Ace runs down to help and the ref throws it out
**3/4

Post match, they double him and throw out referee Danny Davis!!!. They tie him in the ropes and beat the crap out of him and even throw in some slaps and spit on him. They eventually leave and the crowd wants them deader than ever before. Davis and other refs out Bruno out of the ropes and he's badly hurt.

Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Ricky Steamboat (Boston-7/12)
Liz is wearing a yellow and green dress this week. This is treated as the first match by Jesse and Gorilla, and given the Classic now being cast aside it makes a lot of sense to treat it as such. Randy attacks him from behind in a pier 6 job and it turns into a wicked fight with a million awesome strikes and bumps. Breaking zero new ground by saying how well they match up, but holy shit it's perfect. Ricky grabs an arm and goes to work with some tremendous stuff, and Randy's selling is great, but it's the fact he gets lifted by one by Ricky that blows my mind. Dragon stays on it for a while and it never gets boring as he's always doing something mean or cool. RICKY SKINS THE CAT BUT RANDY CLOSELINES HIM BACK OVER AND KICKS HIM IN THE KIDNEY TO KNOCK HIM TO THE FLOOR. He hits the axe handle to take over and then hits a running knee to send Ricky over the guard rail in an insane bump. Randy sells his am throughout the attack to further show he's the fucking best. He misses the elbow and wreaks his arm even more and it turns into a dog fight as both men are tired and hurt and going for broke at every turn. Ricky fights back with a knee and beats the hell out of him with suplexes and karate shots to the head and body. Randy crawls out on the apron and gets something out of his tights and when Ricky attempts a backdrop Randy punches him in the face and lands on top to steal the win. Goddamn what a match.
***1/2

Post match, he shoves it back into his tights and Jesse says he's got a hurt arm and is protecting himself. Ricky comes back to life and fights him and steal the object as Randy runs for it. Ricky shows it off and Jesse asks if Ricky had that in his tights. AMAZING.

Hulk Hogan (c) vs Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart (WWF World Championship. Philadelphia-7/12)
HOGAN STEALS TERRY'S HAT AND HITS AN ELBOW DROP ON IT, AND TERRY LOSES HIS MIND. Funk keeps stooging in different amazing ways like going after the camera man, or getting spat in the face by Hogan and nearly falling out of the ring. Hogan keeps kicking his ass and Funk gets even more insane and grabs his branding iron and tries to kill Monsoon with it!!! Funk finally levels him with a punch and ties him in the ropes and goes to work with a super fun control seg. Hogan sells the beating really well and it's great to finally get him someone far better than most of the scrubs he's been working with for the last few months. Funker chokes him with some tape and hits a piledriver and gets the closest near fall anyone has gotten against Hogan yet. Hogan fights out of the sleeper by ramming him into the corner and mounts a great comeback and we get even cooler Funk bumps than before. Hart tries to use the megaphone, but Hogan steals it and cracks Funker and wins the match
***

POST MATCH FUNK HITS HIM WITH THE RING BELL AND HE GRABS THE IRON AND BRANDS HOGAN HOLY SHIT. HOGAN SCRAMBLES OUT AND GRABS A CHAIR AND RUNS THEM OFF. I adore this feud already.

Match#1 Junkyard Dog & George Steele w/Lou Albano vs Seve Lombardi & Dave Barbie
EWWWWWWWWWWW BROTHER EWWWW WHAT'S THAT BROTHER.

Match#2 Adrian Adonis w/Jimmy Hart vs Michael Saxon

He's now being called "Adorable" which is amazing and means we're getting super close to something wonderful. Vince plugs the Rick McGraw tribute show in a really classy move. This rules as he's SUPER fat and has bleached blonde hair and beats the crap out of the jobber with fat man offence along with the normal dirty heel stuff. DDT ends it.
**

Mean Gene-
-Gene promotes the first Boston show of 1986!!!!!!!!
-Bruno will be facing Piper in a return match.
-He rants about being called a wop and promises revenge.

WWF SLAMMY'S ARE COMING SOON.

Match#3 Corp Krichner & Scott McGee vs The Gladiator & Mr X
This is 2 minutes of Corp K doing bad stuff before winning with the Samoan Drop. Ok then.
1/2*

Mean Gene-
-Lanny reads a poem about Bobby Heenan being a weasel.

Corp K walks out with his flag while Volkoff is trying to sing his shitty song. Oh, this is not a feud i need.

Match#4 Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff vs Mr Wrestling 2 & Mario Mancini
Overlong humbling from these two, Clutch does it
Poop

Piper's Pit with Hillbilly Jim. Piper mocks him being stupid and brings up the fact he's going to wrestle him soon, but it cuts out before we hear more.

They show footage of the women's title change.

Match#5 The Killer Bees vs Moondog Spot & John Rizzo
Fine little outing for our Bees. Jim gets more ring time this week and does pretty well, but he's lacking the fire that Blair brings to the act. Still, not too bad at all. Blair gets in and wins with a short armed lariat.

WWF Maple Leaf Gardens-15/12

The Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart vs Uncle Elmer & Hillbilly Jim

The Foundation are tasked with 8 minutes to make it work, and it's mostly ok. Fun stooging to start to make the goons look good, and then Bret gets in and isolates Jim with some basics and the like, and i can't hate on him not killing himself for these two. Anvil is very much the same and the control is nothing but facelocks and some stomps, sadly. Elmer has a terrible hot tag moving at a snails pace. He knocks Bret to the floor into the rail and squashes Anvil with some terrible fat man splashes. Bret trips him and holds his foot as Anvil falls on top to steal the win.
*1/2

Post match, the ref suddenly sees Bret holding the foot and counts them out as they leave in a real horseshit call to give the win to the Hillbillies.

King Tonga vs Bob Orton
They go to the mat in a shock and it's really good as Tonga shows himself to be very good at it, and Ace is thrown off by it. Tonga turns it into a fight leading to some awesome Orton bumps and stooging moments. Bob headbutts him in the groin to take over and we get a pretty fun control seg. Good shots to the body for a while, and some nice Tonga selling in his first time having to do it. They brawl and Orton slips in a cast shot for the DQ.
**

Post match, Tonga chases him off.

Hulk Hogan (c) vs Tery Funk w/Jimmy Hart (WWF World Championship)
They have the same start as the last match with Hogan stealing the hat and stomping on it to piss Funk off in amazing form as he loses his mind and runs through the crowd in anger. He gets in and Hogan cleans his clock and throws him all over, so we get some incredible Funk bumps. Terry eventually catches him with a punch to the face and goes to work. Wonderful attack on the floor with strikes and then strangles him with a hidden piece of tape for a while. They fight on the ramp and Hogan throws him back into the ring and beats the shit out of him in revenge. They use the same finish as the last match with Hogan stealing the megaphone to clobber him and win the match

No ASW for the rest of the year, sadly.

Jesse is back on the commentary!!!

Match1 Ricky Steamboat & King Tonga vs Butcher Vachon & Terry Gibbs
Hell yeah, another sick karate and wildman squash from the super duo. They break some new double teams like Ricky monkey flipping Tonga into one of them in a really cool one. Hercules joins commentary and demands someone face him as everyone is afraid of him. Flying Crossbody ends the fun.
**

WWF Update-
-The Bulldogs have not only impressed the world, but Lou Albano as well.
-Lou has lead 15 teams to the tag title glory and the Bulldogs may be the sweet sixteenth.

BUY THE HULK HOGAN WORKOUT TAPE.

Match#2 Terry Funk w/Jimmy Hart vs Greg Eberhart
Funker does his thing once more and it's the best squash possible. Tons of violence and funny moments as he can't help but be a middle aged crazy person. Sleeper ends it after a nasty Neckbreaker.
**

Post match, he brands him.

Mean Gene-
-Adrian Adonis walks on and shows off his new bleached hair. He says Jimmy is off buying him some new threads that will make sure he's not a flash in the pan. He's going to the top as he's a talented trend setter, and he wishes everyone a gay new years. HERE WE GO.

VOTE IN THE SLAMMYS

Before the next match, Poffo reads a poem about Brutus being a loser that sticks his head up Johnny's ass.

Match#3 Dream Team w/Johnny Valiant vs Lanny Poffo & Jim Powers
Brutus is really angry and beats the shit out of Lanny for 90 seconds in a really good fashion, and then wins with the Knee.
*1/2

Match#4 Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Gary Starr

A fan gives Liz some flowers which are then wreaked by Randy in another fit of rage, he then screams at her boots her out of the ring. Randy mauls the kid and wins with the elbow in 10 seconds.
OHHHHHHH YEAH.

Post match, he nails another one just to do it.

It is time for Piper's Pit, and he has a doctor named Dr. Threwball. He asks how long it should take Bob to heal from his fracture. The doctor says it's only about four weeks after the initial incident. Piper says he's had the cast for 9 months, and it's really bad. The doc says it's not possible to have a 9 month fracture, and Piper says the doctor says it is. The doctor says it shouldn't take more than six weeks to heal, and Piper says he's glad the doctor agrees with him that the cast can stay on Ace's arm indefinitely.

Match#5 Ted Arcidi vs Mario Mancini

Ted is not good at all he's clearly out of his depth having to cary a match, so he does weak looking offence and wins with a Canadian Backbreaker that impresses Jesse.
1/2*

Match#6 Hillbilly Jim & Cousin Junior vs Joe Mirto & Mr X

Dan is now hanging out with JYD for 3 minutes, and hey it sucks. Bulldog does it.
THUMP

WWF Update-
-Mr Wonderful is using his cast as some eye for an eye revenge tour.

Match#2 Don Muraco w/Mr Fuji vs Gary Starr
One last fun squash for Don in the year of 1985. Mean and nasty as always, and Fuji gets in on it again with a cane shot. Spike Tombstone does the deed.
*3/4

Mean Gene-
-Don Muraco says he endured injures this year and a brutal feud with Steamboat and Hogan. He's even endured Gene and his interviews, and he helped him through his divorce and introduced him to some new broads. Gene says he helped him into it, and Don says he yeah he did. AMAZING. He says she's got him by the...., but he still likes him and he wishes everyone a happy new years.

VOTE IN THE FUCKING SLAMMYS, YOU BASTARDS.

Match#3 Tito Santana & Pedro Morales vs. Mr. X & Barry O
Tito gets stuck with this turd to close out a really bad 5 months of TV squashes. Going to be heartbroken if they keep this nonsense up in 1986. Hercules joins commentary and calls his shot against Tito. Oh no. Far too much Pedro trash before Tito gets in and wins with the Figure Four.
1/2*

Vnce announces it will be Corp Krichner vs Volkoff at the next SNME in a Peace Match.

Mean Gene-
-Bruno says more words about how much he hates Piper and how he and Wonderful will make him and Orton pay in Boston on the 11th.
-Wonderful pops up on the screen and says he accepts the match.

Match#4 Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart vs Sal Gee & Tony Mateo
Ahhhhh, one last on in 85 for the our heroes. Bret drags one of them out and slams them on the concrete and beats his ass, and then Anvil joins and wreaks him as well. Anvil breaks out a gross powerslam to hurt him even more and then the Hart Attack does it.
**

Piper's Pit with Butcher Vachon. Piper talks about how much he respects him and his family, and Butcher asks why Piper has a telephone pole with him. Butcher than says he would like to breaks Piper's neck like Orton's arm. Piper asks him who will be the world champion in 86, and Butcher says Piper is very good and blows his trumpet, but no one can touch Hulk Hogan. Piper walks out very upset.

Match#5 Paul Orndorff vs Butcher Vachon
Weird to have Butcher act like a face on the Pit and then have him be the heel against Wonderful. Good enough stuff though as Wonderful hits him hard as hell, and Butcher takes some good bumps for a fat old man. Piledriver does it.
*3/4

Match#6 King Kong Bundy & Big John Studd w/Bobby Heenan vs SD Jones & Jose Luis Rivera

Bundy thankfully leads the charge and wreaks everyone as he can, while his partner is still a giant turd. Avalanche and the 5 count does it.
*3/4

Mean Gene-
-Terry Funk & Jimmy Hart hype up the Boston card. Funk says he has animals on the ranch that he has to teach lessons into by knocking sense into them, and that's what he's going to do to that old man Pedro.
-Sheiky walks on with his crew and they cut a bad promo about Krichner and JYD being stupid.

Hulk Hogan (c) vs Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth (WWF World Championship. 30/12)
Randy has the incredible red tights with white stars on, and it's another all time look from a man who can't miss in that regard (or any regard until 1998). Killer start with Hogan schooling him with ease and driving him insane right from the bat, which seems like a bad idea to do to a crazy man. Randy scrapes his eyes to try and get back into it, but Hogan fires back and whips his ass and atomic drops so hard he flies out of the ring in another wild bump. Hogan keeps it up and the crowd is SO fucking loud and there for everything he does. Randy finally gets him down and hits the axe handle to take over. His control is short but fun as well, and i can't wait for a 15+ minute match. to see how much better it will be. Randy nails the elbow and Hogan is the first man to kick out of it!! Randy snaps and throws Hogan into the ref and knees Hogan out of the ring, AND HE COMES OFF THE TOP WITH THE TITLE TO THE BACK OF HOGAN'S SKULL! He gets the ref back up and makes him count Hogan out.
**34

Post match, Randy grabs the title and wraps it around his waist and celebrates with Liz in an amazing moment. Hogan comes back to life and beats the living shit out of him and steals his title back and runs him off.

Peace out 1985
