Lol, I found this quite funny. For the record though, if you are in America and you do say "could care less" 9 times out of 10, assuming that you are having a conversation with someone who is willing to correct you, you will be corrected because it obviously doesn't make much sense.

There are reasons for the differences in spelling between American English and British English. A lot of the time we dropped unstressed letters such as the u in color, flavor, neighborhood. We don't do that in words like contour because the letter is clearly stressed. That all makes sense to me.

I find it amusing that the English feel they own the language. So what if American's use different terms, are you seriously that butthurt?
