The new go to place for any trailers of upcoming films. Seen something you think looks immense? Post it here for everyone else to see, mods can update the thread title every time a new trailer comes up.

Here's the two trailers I've seen that inspired this thread, first up "Life of Pi".

Life of Pi is an upcoming 3D adventure film based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Yann Martel.[2] The film is directed by Ang Lee based on an adapted screenplay by David Magee and Martin Solibakke. Suraj Sharma will play Pi. Life of Pi is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2012.

This film looks absolutely stunning, so much so that I started reading the book not long after seeing it for the first time. Due out soon, this could be a late contender for my favourite film of the year if it sticks faithfully to the source material. It of course helps that the director has a great track record.

Re: The Upcoming Movie Trailer Thread! (feat: "Deadfall")

Siblings Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde) are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances--a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It's there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.

I dunno about you but Eric Bana looks great in this. Whole cast sounds great two, could be a lot of fun.

Re: The Upcoming Movie Trailer Thread! (feat: "Oz the Great & Powerful")

Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot--fame and fortune are his for the taking--that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity--and even a bit of wizardry--Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

The good news is we've got Mila Kunis. The bad news is we've got Zach Braff. Either way, I expect Disney have got a lot riding on this one, and so far it looks like it should do decent business.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption--a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

Yep, a film with Hugh Jackman & Russell Crowe belting out tunes. Expect a lot of Oscar buzz around this one.

Re: The Upcoming Movie Trailer Thread! (feat: "Les Miserables")

Just to add a little controversy to the thread, am I the only one who feels film adaptations of stage musicals should have their own separate category at the Academy Awards? I've pretty much felt this way since Chicago beat out Gangs of New York and The Pianist at the Oscars about 10 years ago.

Are there enough of them every year? And it seems unfair to exclude a film based on it's beginnings, that's like excluding any films based on books from the category.

In a way I agree with Fuji but I also wonder the same thing as LB. So I add nothing here really.

Deadfall look amazing! Phenomenal cast, very happy Kate Mara finally seems to scored a big role. I'm not sure what to make of Oz yet though... James Franco and Mila Kunis sounds great, it certainly has an interesting an unique look too.

Not all books are turned into films though, and they have a category at the Academy Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay so its not like they're shutting pictures like those out.

I think that more musicals should be made and that yes they should have their own category..
Musicals are awesome fun...just watch some of the old MGM ones they were just amazing. Back then actors had to be really talented and do everything..sing, act, dance....we need more of that imo

I think that's part of the reason why I want them to have their own category, because I too would like to see more of them. Why only have one or two a year (or even less than that) when we could have several? As you say, the old MGM ones were simply magical and in this day and age, we could really use a lot more of those than some of the more depressing fare that's constantly hitting theaters.

Re: The Upcoming Movie Trailer Thread! (feat: "Les Miserables")

I mean we must have enough multi talented people that could pull these things off...

Justin Timberlake comes to mind as someone who would flourish in a world like the old MGM days

After a crash landing, a father and son explore a planet that was evacuated by humans 1,000 years earlier.

The latest Will Smith vehicle, now featuring Smith Jr.!

Not as high on Smith as I used to be, but looks decent enough.

As soon as I saw "father and son" I know it would be with his son! I think that's basically what he see's as his purpose now, the escalate his son. It even seems like Jaden is the real main character with Will seemingly injured in the crash. His son annoys me big time though. The fear speech was nice.

The daring new movie from the director of Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines is a sweeping emotional drama powerfully exploring the unbreakable bond between fathers and sons. Luke (Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling) is in constant motion, a high-wire motorcycle stunt performer who travels from town to town with the carnival. Passing through Schenectady in upstate New York, he tries to reconnect with a former lover, Romina (Eva Mendes), only to learn that she has in his absence given birth to their son Jason. Luke resolves to forsake life on the road and to provide for his newfound family, taking a job as car mechanic with Robin (Ben Mendelsohn). Robin soon discovers Luke's special talents, and proposes to partner with him in a string of spectacular bank robberies. But it is only a matter of time before Luke will run up against the law - which comes in the form of Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper). Avery is an ambitious rookie cop navigating a local police department ruled by the menacingly corrupt detective Deluca (Ray Liotta). When Avery, just beginning to balance his profession and his family life with wife Jennifer (Rose Byrne) and their infant son AJ, confronts Luke, the full consequences will reverberate into the next generation. It is then that the two sons, Jason (Dane DeHaan) and AJ (Emory Cohen), must face their fateful, shared legacy.

So Ryan Goseling again. I like the premise. This could be a decent film.

In this dark spin on the fairy tale, siblings Hansel and Gretel are a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world.

Cast:Jeremy Renner---Enough Said

I am there. This looks fucking amazing. Renner is becoming quite the action guy.
