Yeah I've heard the show is great, might get around to it eventually but it's not a high priority mostly bc my comic reading interest has been so rejuventated lately lmao

Up next, All-Star Superman :garrett only 12 issues and supposedly a great Superman story and I love me some Superman when he's written well so this should be a great time. Good to be back to some Superheroes too after how Vertigo heavy the list has been so far.

Halfway through All Star Superman and really starting to love it. First issue was a banger but then it really slowed down and was a tad hokey but it was also some throwback silver-age story stuff that I appreciated. Really started picking up with the main narrative in issue 5 and issue 6 was just a fucking shot to the gut with how emotional it was :lol def recommend to any Superman fan.

Just finished All-Star Superman. Great Superman story, no surprise that it's called one of the best ever. It felt a lot like Superman's "The Dark Knight Returns" in a way actually. Just a really cool definitive Superman story.

Up next, I'm going to start the Alan Moore era of Saga of the Swamp Thing from the 1980s. Looks like it's issues 20-65 or so and like one yearly annual.

Absolute Carnage as Chris knows was one of my favorite reads of late and it some ways it woke up my Comic Book spirit in me. So with that I'm going to read Carnage Black, White, and Blood. I follow this guy on Twitter and he did the Issue 2 Cover and how can you not want to read a Comic with a Cover like that?

I've read issues #20-31 of Saga of the Swamp Thing so far, enjoying it a lot. I knew most of the Swamp Thing lore already just from reading other comics the character was involved in, but it's really cool seeing it all play out since Alan Moore came up with a lot of it.

Up to issue #45 on Swamp Thing now...didn't realize I'd read so many yesterday :slip:

Fucking love the introduction of John Constantine, I think the Hellblazer series is on the list I'm following pretty soon too so nice to see this first.

Issue #50 of Swamp Thing was really good. It showcased a lot of DC's magical characters that later ended up being part of the Justice League Dark series, the events in this issue were even heavily referenced in some issues of that book I'd read.

Finished Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run and I still haven't been disappointed by the list I'm going down at all. This whole run pretty much made the Swamp Thing lore that I had been interested in from reading him in other series like Justice League Dark so it was a lot of fun to read its the origin.

Up next is the four-issue mini-series Marvels which I read a couple of years ago so it's my first re-read of this series. Super excited bc it has a TON of Easter Eggs in it that I missed the first time. The issues I was reading were the 25th anniversary ones that had annotations about the easter eggs so it'll be fun trying to catch them without that help lol But it's a series telling Marvel's history from the perspective of an ordinary guy, also in a universe where things happen in publication order. So it starts with him covering Captain America, Namor, & The Human Torch in WWII and progresses to mutants in the 60s and Spider-Man in after that. It's a really cool concept and was executed super well. I'll probably finish it today or tomorrow tbh :lol

Yeah already finished and loved Marvels as expected lol This next one might take me a bit longer as it's not really a traditional comic book at all but it's technically the only thing on this list to win a Pulitzer. It's a story called Maus which is a guy interviewing his dad who survived the Holocaust and telling his experiences, a true story as well. But also the characters are represented by animals instead of people so like Jews are mice I believe.

I'm halfway through Maus and really enjoying it. It's more of a newspaper-style comic, but being about the Holocaust it's obviously about as serious as you can get. I remember sophomore year of high school, we had a time where we read a few different pieces of Holocaust literature, and man that teacher should got this for us honestly :lol

The characters being represented as animals is really cool, not sure why or how it adds to the story, but it just does somehow.
