Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

Punk uses a very limited amount of Muay Thai strikes. The style is actually about the 9 points of attack, Elbows, Knees, Feet, Fists, & Head. Typically it is known for its devastating knee & elbow blows(which are where most of the illegal moves come from in MMA, and what made Tony Ja movies worth watching). If Punk keeps his speed advantage(just like HBK did against nearly every big guy he faced, and nobody bitched that it wasn't believable), and uses his 9 points of attack, Brock would be very hard pressed to land one of those knockout blows, while Punk works on every part of Lesnar wearing him down for one of those "you just don't see it coming" knee strikes, as I just don't see Punk hitting the GTS.

Everyone knows the KO blow is the one you don't see coming. It takes very little to put it over, as in wrestling it is usually a given that the smaller guy has his advantages, speed, typically conditioning, and for story terms, heart. Its a David vs. Goliath story for the new era.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

Biggest thing that makes me excited about this feud is the Heyman vs Punk mic work against each other for the build. Never thought we'd get to see these two work against each other on the mic which is going to be a lot of fun. Also a lot of things they can add to this feud such as the Axel factor or even if they wanna somehow bring RVD into the picture somehow too. The match itself should be interesting to me since I really do not care about this whole size difference thing. We've seen bigger mismatches and if the guys involved are good enough which they are in this match they can make it fun and interesting.

Punk isn't a striker!? Keylock combo punches/slaps/kicks... roundhouse kicks... elbows... Punk strikes more than most guys in the WWE, Brock Lesnar included.

Anyways, I'm more excited, at the moment, about the promos leading up to the match than the actual match itself. The build has to happen. WWE has a chance to go back to the Pipebomb promo where Punk mentioned Lesnar leaving without the title... and the multiple digs last night where Punk said Lesnar NEEDED Heyman to be successful. If it turns into both guys talking about what they need, it will be interesting to see how people spin Heyman's actual worth as a manager... which would be even more awesome considering Heyman is highly regarded as one of the top managers in the history of the business.

Never said he wasn't a striker, just that he uses a limited amount of the Muay Thai strikes compared to that of the whole of the Muay Thai martial art. Meaning he could always incorporate a wide variety of new ones in his offensive arsenal in a "big event" moment, like say putting Lesnar on his ass.

Muay Thai is like karate and Kung fu FFS!!! Flashy but inneffective, there are certain things that are effective in striking, not a lot it works in a real fight. Wrestling beats all, Brock would crush him no matter the style he tried, but this is fake fighting. Also, people who keep bringing up Eddie as an example of smaller guy have either not seen that match or purposely forgetting Goldberg being a major reason he beat him.

Only thing this feud has going for it is possible mic battles between Heyman and Punk. Because Pink and Brock face to face looks like a gorilla vs a rhesus monkey.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

I find internet people who call Punk and Bryan small and not conceivable as a threat as being hilarious. Punk can beat the shit out 99.9 percent of every single IWC member. Brocks clumsy big guy. ANY day of the week brains beats muscle and its a pretty well known fact that Brock isn't the smartest person on the roster. Without Heyman Brock would have been another generic big guy that was gone within a year.

This feud really intrigues me though because I was looking forward to it for a long time. Punk and Lesnar are both two really big draws, so them going at it is going to be great. Much better pairing off then Lesnar/Trips. That was awkward and felt forced. This feud writes itself.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

Brock's a clumsy big guy ... A clumsy big guy that's a national collegiate wrestling champion and mixed martial arts champion.

While punks a scrawny small slightly pudgy guy whose strikes get shrugged off by the likes of Kofi Kingstonnregularly. That's the problem with a Punk kick vs even a Triple H/Taker punch to Brock. Punks strikes haven't been even played up to bother fodder, let alone rock a heavyweight. He's not a threat in a wrestling environment. Its going to have to be a weapon filled brawl.

Don't get the scenario twisted here, for all purposes Punk is the equivalent of Shane McMahon vs a giant monster. His match should be played as such with use of weapons, quick strikes, thinking on his feet, and cheating. If its not he's going to be raped logically speaking as he's not even a threat to beat most guys like Rock, Taker, Trips, Cena one on one without some bs in a straight match let alone Brock, who those guys have to kill themselves to beat.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

Lets also not forget that he was smart enough to secure himself half a mil for every fight in the UFC and how many a year in wwe to work how many dates? Whatta dummy.

Cm Punk is more intelligent for making less and working more dates. Lol Tapout you raise the bar of smarkastic statements. And if Punk was so tough against net warriors, he would've dropped that fat guy in glasses last year, instead of throwing slaps and the guy barely noticing.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

I will say it right now, RVD beating Brock is more believable than Punk beating him, even in an extreme rules environment. That's a problem. It should be fun to see how CM Punk plays the Shane O Mac role, and he should look at old tapes to play it, as that's who he's the equivalent of in a brawl with Brock

Really fucking disturbing to here Eddie brought up as to why it should be done and can be done. That ignores the upper half of eddies body was the equivalent of a muscle car like he routinely drove unlike Punk. That also ignores Eddies wrestling ability was always played up more than Punks technical skill. It also ignores Eddie got his fucking ass bloodied and kicked until the former nfl player with one of the longest streaks ever came and fucking tackled the shit out of Brock

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

I obviously don't care or agree with this whole gripe about this match when it comes to size since it would be hypocrtical of me to care after being a fan of Shawn's giant killer matches he had against Sid, Vader and Taker. Same time though that assumption that Brock is dumb because he is a buffed up big guy is just as silly if not worse.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

Shawn was always recognized as the best in ring performer in the history of the company. The announcers always played him up as that guy. They called him the show stopper, the main event, the icon, etc.

Plus unlike Punk he had a one hit knockout strike that could come from anywhere and take down anyone .... SWEET CHIN MUSIC

Punk ain't got shit comparable to sweet shin music. Not a strike in his arsenal as the lower card guys shrug off his strikes. He has no knock out punch, no sweet chin music, no spear like Edge or Goldberg, no sudden finisher he can apply in an instant ala Rock Bottom or Stunner. And he's not big enough to play brawler/powerhouse to make the fight even 40/60 like Trips, Cena, and Taker.

It will need to be a street fight, weapon filled with some chicanery by Punk for legitimacy, don't you agree?

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

What are you talking about? Being billed as the best in ring performer has nothing to do with him against a dude who is much bigger than him. Punk gets billed as the best in the world if you want to go that silly route. Shawn having on out of no where finisher still doesn't cover the whole other 20 mins give or take that he works the match with the guy (Punk has that round house kick he does if you want to stick with that one go to strike move argument). He didn't have close to as many strike moves and sub holds like Punk but he still made the shit work against big guys just like I know Punk will make it work so I couldn't care less about this size thing.

Plus it is not like Punk isn't battle tested against bigger guys as he has faced guys from Big Daddy V, Big Show, Kane, Taker, Mark Henry Batista.

I think people are forgetting PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING IS FAKE! it's all about having a good time and making you believe the impossible, since when did we start getting on people's sizes? Are we forgetting Rey's feud with Show or KANE? i bet you all believed then didn't you.

lulz, GTS is just as much an 'out of nowhere' move as the rock bottom is but Psych gonna Psych and ramble incoherently on any given Punk topic. That was almost as bad as Tapout's evaluation of Brock being an idiot.

Re: CM Punk's next feud *RAW SPOILERS*

None of these previous David vs Goliath matches have featured a 280lbs former MMA champion who happens to be as quick as he is strong. Nash, Sid and all those other bumbling messes weren't comparable to a guy as athletic as Brock, hence why it was sort of believable that Michaels could beat them.

CM Punk is not Shawn Michaels in any way shape or form, he is inferior in every single attribute and him beating Brock would have to be booked like Royal Rumble '94 when half the roster helped beat down Taker ftw.

Suspension of disbelief doesn't apply when a guy with the physique of a pre-pubescent female swimmer is beating a monsterous looking man with legit amateur credendtials, you just might as well roll a banner at the bottom of the screen with WRESTLING IS FAKEEEEEEE in huge letters. Honestly, to me, this is very similar to that Hornswoggle vs Khali match at Survivor Series a few yrs back.
