With the exception of maybe SRS and a few others, most just scrap the barrel and report anything they find elsewhere or any rumor any random person loosely associated with the business tells them.

yeah, I respect SRS and a few others for at least getting multiple sources before running and being careful with their wording. I am still critical of some of their articles, especially their titles, though. It might even be slightly unintentional but just the way they word a ratings drop for both major companies is at times glaring lol.

The issue is that every back info they get from talent and companies alike are always going to be in favor of the person saying the thing so it's their job to see where the truth is. Sometimes they rather make their own conclusions. Meltzer especially gets quoted for opinion and reported as fact by others for example. but he also has some spectacularly shit opinions lol. My main issue with both Metlz and SRS are their at times childish refusals to acknowledge they got a detail wrong and that its nbd to get worked
