To be fair I don't see Rampage having many fights left in him anyways, so we'll probably see him more often in TNA when he's retired from Pro MMA.

This is really one of those things that we'll have to see with our own eyes before we can jump to any conclusions of how it will work. I also highly doubt Rampage will wrestle much, if at all. Some people will say silly crap like "oh well Mike Tyson didn't really wrestle for WWF either and look what he did" but Rampage isn't even remotely close to being on Tyson's level of mainstream notoriety in 1998 and neither is TNA.

This is honestly just a tremendous waste of money for TNA and just goes to further show that Dixie has absolutely no clue what she's doing. It might help TNA out a little, maybe help sell a ppv or two, but I don't see any long-term benefits that will be worth the price they paid. Who does TNA have right now that they could put in a ring with Rampage and make people think that's something they must see? They don't have anyone like that right now.

Some reason, the only thing I want to see out of this is Rampage and Samoa Joe kicking the shit out of each other in a proper stiffing style match... That or Kurt Angle trying to be MMA again.

It's a cool signing and probably will help get a 0.1 in the ratings but aside from that, will it help? It'll be a lot of money spend and not much given back, he'll no doubt hold his own the mic but he'll just have to be a hard hitting stiff match for him to be anything in the ring.

To be fair though, I don't think this is a TNA signing or someone they'll be using their own money on. To me, it just screams of Bellator and the Spike executives realising that having him appear on TNA would be be good cross over advertising so obviously Dixie wouldn't turn down the opportunity of having an extremely popular star on her show. What Rampage ends up doing is to be seen, but i'd be shocked if he ever had a match. Guess we'll find out on iMPACT tommorow..

Well I was going by what the tweet said, that being "Rampage just signed a groundbreaking deal with TNA", so unless that's a flat out lie, I just assume TNA's floating the bill.

Eh, who knows but the way i'm seeing it is that they're saying he's signing a deal with TNA to make themselves sound more important. Like I say, I just think it was a case of Spike saying we've got this guy under contract and he's interested in showing up in TNA, do you want to take him.

What you're saying makes sense, but that's pretty bad if TNA actually did that. That would have been like WWE saying they signed Walker Texas Ranger in 1998 just because USA Network had both shows. But somehow I wouldn't put something like that past TNA.

Is TNA, they said hogan bought part of the company and did a press conference. He aren't openly traded like Vince, so they can lie like that. Spike paid for sting, why not Jackson?

Decent signing but I don't know how much time he will have to spare for TNA due to his two other deals. Bellator would presumably be the priority for Spike since Rampage is an MMA fighter and then his reality show would be second. TNA would be a distant third but he is a huge wrestling fan and has a wrestling background. Would need plenty of ring training but he already has the character and mic skills required. Will tune in to see how he goes as this could work out okay for TNA.

Still a bit disappointed that this is the big signing, my fault I guess for presuming that a wrestling company would sign a wrestler as their big signing.

Source: MMA Mania

Brian Hemminger of MMA Mania recently interviewed Quinton "Rampage" Jackson about his new deal with Bellator MMA and TNA Wrestling. During the interview, Jackson noted how difficult it was to do wrestling and MMA concurrently, and said that he would hold off on wrestling until his fighting career was over.

"I've always wanted to be a pro wrestler since I was a kid, but now that I'm older and have had a lot of injuries, people don't understand the toll that wrestling takes on your body," Jackson said. "I just don't think I can do that now while I'm fighting, but when I retire from fighting and go full time into pro wrestling, then I think I can go and get more extensive with my style and my moves.
"Right now, I just want to stick to what I know. I haven't trained for wrestling but I know MMA and MMA is exciting. That's why it has such a big following that it does now and I want to bring my style into my performance. Guys like Samoa Joe have an MMA style in their pro wrestling and stuff like that. I want to be different than him. I still like to slam and throw people and that's why I did that so many years in my MMA career because I was a pro wrestler at heart. I wanted to bring some pro wrestling into my MMA back in Pride and now I want to bring some MMA into my pro wrestling."

Is this Rampage appeasing Bellator's fanbase or is he really staying out of the ring until he retires from MMA?
