I'm actually glad Wolverine is doing bad. The movie looks terrible and Hollywood needs to stop fucking up The X-Men. Still my favorite comic series of all time, and the only X-men movie I enjoyed was First Class. Had it's flaws, but was the best attempt at an X-men movie.

Conjuring doesn't appeal to me because I don't do Horror films. Pacific Rim doesn't look that good either. Seems like it's been a weak summer for movies.

The Wolverine didn't really appeal to me that much but I'm surprised it only made that much, good amount yes but for a superhero movie, no. Pacific Rim not doing very good either when you look at its budget. Was considering seeing it over This Is The End this weekend. But glad I seen This Is The End. Hilarious movie.

My mum seen The Conjuring. Said it was good especially in theater. Everyone was jumping.

Seems like Pacific Rim might do better in the UK than the States debuted at number three and only dropped a place last week, so far has made just over five mil, guess the next two or three weeks will tell.

I'll be seeing Wolverine next Tuesday, I don't think it is going to be as bad as some people think, and clearly the stigma from Origins is causing this movie some problems. It's leading into the new direction for the X-Men movies, with Days of Future Past, and X-Force both on the way, it is entirely possible for Fox to make a movie universe, just as rich, and with much more depth than Disney's Avengers universe. There is something like 5 mutants to each Avenger anyways.

Will give my feedback of it after I have seen it.

Nothing really of note here, solid start for 2Guns. Slow week compared to recent ones.

Is anyone going to check out the Heat? Think I might as I really liked Bridesmaids and Bullock has always impressed me as a comic actress. Also didn't realise this but I don't think there has ever been a female led buddy cop film before, which makes it unique itself.

That film and the Conjuring are the two main stream films which most grab my attention at the moment.

Not too bad for 2 Guns but with those two leads I thought it would start with over $30 million. Not really that much to look forward with Summer ending in the US, thankfully in Australia Pain & Gain and Now You See Me are out in the next couple of weeks so I can finally watch them

2 Guns was funny but I can't speak for everyone, it was tax free weekend at Louisiana malls. The movies werent nearly as filled as every store. I literally had to park at the restaurant across the street just to go to the mall

Weak start for Elysium whereas We Are The Millers did better than I thought it would. Jennifer Aniston stripping in the trailer probably brought a few people in. With Elysium the concept just doesn't appeal that much and is one of those films where it is pretty clear the director is trying to push a message on the audience rather than just creating a movie.

Jobs, Kick-Ass 2, The Butler and Paranoia are the wide releases next week. Jobs I was interested in at first but I saw the latest trailer recently and it doesn't look that good. Kick-Ass 2 on the other hand looks quite good, Carrey is awesome in the trailer, never saw the first one but tempted to see this. The Butler doesn't appeal and I doubt it gets a wide release in Australia. Paranoia looks like a movie I would watch on tv if it was on, not one that I would pay to see.

How is it a weak start it went in at number one? If you think Elysium has a weak concept check out the weakness of WATM's concept. And I do have a "how those sorts of comedy are sexist and how miss Aniston should be doing her bit to keep up the female end" rant in the locker, but I am saving it!

Weak start because it only made $30 million on it's opening weekend. It's budget is $115 million compared to $37 million for WATM so WATM did much better in comparison.

Ok but the next few weeks will tell the real story, it may still make its money back, it has stars in and I don't think $30 mill is a bad start. What might work against it is that it is a new story in an old genre, people like Sci-Fi but also they sometimes like to stick to Sci-Fi they know, but then again the likes of Source Code and Inception did well so you never know.
