Believe me, I know all too well how difficult it is to make money as a start up. Then again, I also didn't have the backing of a billionaire father when I started my business, so in a way I'm probably just jealous of Tony for being richer than I am. On the flip side, I think I can drink out of a water bottle more normally than him, so who's the real winner eh?:lol

I do think the addition of the reality show is a sign that they're probably going to come out ok in the next round of television negotiations, which I do agree is the clearest indicator of their growth. We shall see how things shake out whenever that's finished, which I imagine should be soon considering the deal expires this year. I believe they're pulling 40+ million from WBD at the moment, so anything above that can only be seen as a win.

I also wasn't calling anything the other guy with the cool name was saying a "bad faith argument". I was just trying to say that my original intention here was not to be arguing in bad faith, or to concern troll (that term sucks and should be retired immediately) but rather to address concerns I had over Tony trying to take on too much responsibility and how that may affect the operation of the business. That's really all it was. No hidden agenda.

By the way, I remember you from WC. Good to see you here.

Hey we all do things weirdly lol.

I think the reality show and that rumoured 3rd show is deffo a sign of good things for the company. Yeah I think it was crossed wires cause we are used to people who actually do that stuff so it can be hard to see criticism for what it is sometimes. I will say some people legit concern troll (not you but in other places). I do agree with Tony taking on too much but he has a lot of good things he has done too. But yeah someone taking on too much is a bad idea.

Good to see you here too :)

I'd forgotten about the potential Saturday Night show, so that's another good sign that things are bright over at WBD. I just hope it's in that 6:05 Saturday slot so I can watch wrestling like it's 1993 again.

Fingers crossed it is a decent time cause I live in the UK and watching it before midnight would be nice for me some weekend lol. I do agree he should get some booking help for the shows cause that many shows will eventually burn anyone out

I'm more concerned about the taping schedule for the new show than anything tbh I think he can handle the current workload fine even with ROH since they're taped multiple shows in advance (only one cycle so far but it's been great and the AEW product as well has picked up for me during the time too, but time will tell there)

So if he can work it into the current schedule, maybe cut out one of the Darks or tape more at Universal for it, then no real issue. If they have to adjust the taping schedule to he different and that results in more of a workload then it could be a problem. I don't think he touches the YT shows really tho, I remember him saying he would be doing that when Caster got in trouble for his rap but I honestly don't think he ever did. I think QT or whoever still just throws them together

I hear that. Then again, I'm so old that I get mad when PLE's and PPV's start at 8 since it's already inching close to my bedtime.

The shows themselves have definitely hit a better stride after a bit of a down stretch, so hopefully they continue. I also hope the booking during the lead up to Forbidden Door doesn't distract too much, as I felt last year's kind of threw off their momentum a little. Injuries obviously didn't help that either, though.

I just wonder whether it would be in his best interests to farm out a bit of the booking, just to see if it helps lighten his load a little. I also don't know how much input guys like Jericho have in a more official capacity, though I'm sure Tony listens to him (probably Sting, Mox, Kenny, Bucks as well) more often than not.

I think the injuries played a bigger factor. TK is better at booking when planning everything out. Injuries threw everything out of wack and he struggles to adapt. I think jericho has a fairly sizeable say in the booking

Yeah, the injury bug bit them pretty hard back then. On the bright side, it didn't affect the show itself, which turned out to be one of the better ones of the year. I have high expectations for this years as well. I live about 15 minutes away from Scotiabank Arena so I'll consider grabbing secondary market tickets once the card is announced and if I'm not out of town that weekend.

In a new interview with SES Scoops, Harwood gave his take on Moxley's words and once again downplayed the drama between Punk and The Elite/AEW.

“Until January, all you could hear about [in regards to Brawl Out] was from Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez. They’re not there, you know what I mean? They’re not there. As much as they think they’re getting fed the truth, it’s one version of the truth. Jon [Moxley] is just as obligated, he has his own obligation to tell the truth, just like I did. It’s just crazy that I told my truth and some of my peers got upset with me. Jon is just telling his truth, that’s all, and that’s totally okay, man. His truth, it correlates with mine. The speculation of the drama, quote on quote, that happens in every single sports team on every single roster in every single sport. I’ve played high school football my whole high school life. I’ve played high school basketball, beyond that in Community College I went there. The amount of times that I got into scuffles with people on my team and then right after that, we’re like ‘God damn, we’re stupid. That’s stupid.’ That's all it is. It just happens to be in this day and age of social media, everybody hears about it because a lot of backstage people, a lot of our wrestlers think they’re gonna gain something from it and that’s okay if they think that, but they’re not. The story they spin is only gonna hurt AEW because people think there is this drama. I’ll tell you this, I bet in the last year, over the last year, Cash and I have spent well over $5,000 on tequila for the locker room because the camaraderie is so good. That’s probably lowballing it too. We bought it because we want the boys and the girls, we want the camaraderie of the locker room to be so strong because the stronger the locker room, the better the product. So the drama that we hear about, I promise you because I’m there, I promise you it’s over inflated. I promise you it’s not as dramatic as it’s made out to be.”

A plan to bring CM Punk back to AEW had been in the works but it's unknown where things currently stand.

Our own Dave Meltzer reported in Friday's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Tony Khan wanted Punk back in the company. An agreement on reconciliation had been reached, but it's not clear how Punk's Instagram comments from last week may have impacted the situation.

Meltzer wrote:

The situation with C.M. Punk became a bigger story this week when he put up an instagram post where he went off on Tony Khan, Jon Moxley, myself and Chris Jericho, which he immediately took down. This came while sides were working on a reconciliation that was at least in principle agreed to, per the decision of Khan who wanted him back.
Meltzer continued to suggest Punk's planned return may have been what led to reports that AEW is looking to book the United Center rather than the NOW Arena in Chicago for All Out this year.

While a reconciliation plan was in the works, Meltzer says the situation with Punk and AEW is now uncertain.

Meltzer continued:

Where things stand at this moment are unknown. There are tons of complicated issues involved and differences of opinions on the subject. But it was going to happen and then this happened and it still may end up happening.
During a live recording of FTR with Dax Harwood in Los Angeles yesterday, Harwood relayed text messages from CM Punk to the audience. Harwood said Punk texted him to tell the fans that he misses them and that he wishes he "bought them all ice cream." A replay of Harwood's show can be ordered via FITE.

Punk is honestly an idiot. I can’t believe he posted a message attacking everyone then immediately takes it down. The guy needs to learn something called self control and figure out what he wants.

Chris Jericho says he doesn't need to be friends with CM Punk to work with him in AEW.

Jericho was asked about Punk's possible return to the company during an appearance on Mark Madden's radio show on Friday. Madden suggested that Jericho was not on Punk's "Christmas Card List" but Jericho responded that he doesn't need to be.

Jericho said:

I'm not (on Punk's Christmas card list) but I wasn't on Scott Hall's Christmas card list, or I wasn't on Eric Bischoff's Christmas card list, you don't have to be best friends to co-exist. To me, that's not really my wheelhouse, I'm not in charge of that. I'm sure there will be some answers to that pretty quickly, I would assume, either way. But to us, AEW is going to thrive and survive with or without him.
The topic of Punk potentially returning to AEW was addressed on Friday by our own Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer wrote that a reconciliation plan between Punk and AEW had been agreed upon before Punk made controversial comments in a quickly-deleted Instagram post last week. Where the situation stands now is unclear.

When has he ever passed up a chance to talk on a public platform?
