Surely if he tried someone would have stopped him before he actually made it on screen lol
Lol yeah true :lol I just love the visual of him coming out, maybe on a damn horse and jumping in the ring like “LETS FUCKING GO!”

6:35 is the advice line btw for context. Nothing about his tone came across as rude to me.

No. I’m having two conversations about this.

I’m just saying the advice thing makes sense and it’s not just Punk that feels that way. He just handled it poorer.

See I think Punk and Billy Gunn took personal offense to it whilst people like Regal didn't

I'd also point out one of the things that pisses me off to this day is Taker giving Punk advice about wearing suits, Punk not taking the advice and then losing his title due to it. I feel Punk took the wrong lesson from that and should understand not agreeing with a veterans advice.

I think if I didn’t want the advice, I still listen and be like “yeah that’s good, I’ll consider it and everything.” And not say I don’t really take advice. Because at some point you might need help, and if you done said you don’t take advice, folks might not be willing to help.

Basically tlrd, seem willing to take it, even if you don’t want to, just in case you ever need to.

I didnt mind billys way but also i think a lot of ppl were too loose lipped about criticisms. That shit should stay in house but i think lack of structure n resprect for chain of command is or was a hiuuuuge issue

Thing is though, he did take some from Arn is SRS's report is right. So I don't think it is Page ignoring advice from everyone. Some people also don't like unsolicited advice whilst others welcome it e.g. See Dante Martin and Hobbs

This is the funny thing it’s a cycle. Every young guy that doesn’t wanna take advice eventually becomes a veteran that wants the next generation to take his advice.

That’s fair. Plus I just saw a screen shot of it where it said “I don’t really take advice.” Idk if that’s his exact words, or it’s taken out of context. So I probably should go watch the actual interview later to see what was exactly said, and how also.

Half of AEW’s problems probably stem from too much creative freedom tbh. Without it page probably doesn’t think it’s ok to say whatever he wants, and punk probably doesn’t clap back the way he does either. Like he would never have done that shit in WWE. He never aired his grievances on tv other than when he was allowed to. TK needs to reign them all in. It’s probably why there are just far too many insider references and WWE mentions in all the promos etc. think it needs some tighter control

Like I can guarantee you at some point the young bucks will be complaining about some young kid not listening to them and that’s not me trying to bury them or anything I’m just using an example because they obviously blazed their own trails and what not but they’ll get to that point when they’ll be like all these young whipperssnapper‘s not listening when we made this company and built a career and moved merch we know what we’re doing.

This just came up on my timeline and might also be a factor in why Page might not want Punk's advice. If you don't like someone, you probs ain't listening to their advice :

It was deffo a more nuanced answer than that and the tone of voice makes it clear he doesn't mean it in an arrogant way. Now whether a busy man like Punk watched it or read it without tone of voice...

This is the funny thing it’s a cycle. Every young guy that doesn’t wanna take advice eventually becomes a veteran that wants the next generation to take his advice.

Something to be said about breaking the cycle and being better than the past imo

Half of AEW’s problems probably stem from too much creative freedom tbh. Things is, if you go too far why even go to AEW? May as well just be in WWE without the creative freedom. AEW is meant to be an alternative and embrace wrestling history including their WWE runs. I much prefer them not pretending WWE doesn't exist and them not treating the audience like they don't know wrestling. Obviously there is a balance and maybe some people should lost that right if they cross the line like Punk did (I still don't see anything Page said as that bad, same with Sammy G as well) but going too far the other way means it's the same product just on a different channel.
