WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is starting to focus on what the WWE landscape will be after WrestleMania, and he's got his thought process on the annual draft, WrestleZone has learned exclusively.

"Vince knows he can keep Raw and Smackdown talent on both shows, since Raw is a Super Show now," a key WWE insider told us, "so in order to bring up the Smackdown house shows, how could it hurt to have (John) Cena or (Chris) Jericho on Smackdown, and have them appear on Raw and shoot the major angles there?"

Vince has noticed that even though the ratings have remained stagnant on Raw throughout the Rock vs Cena program (and Undertaker vs HHH program as well), the live events for Monday Night Raw have been selling out. "The brand split is pretty much over," we were told, "everyone appears on Monday nights. Vince wants the wealth spread around a little bit more to improve the bottom line."

What's the point of the draft if the brand split is practically over then..? The current state of the brand split is very confusing. It's almost as if being a RAW guy is a bad thing because then you're only on one show for a short period of time, where as the upper card Smackdown guys get TV exposure twice a week. So what would a draft bring? Are people really supposed to get excited over whether they get to see certain people twice or only once a week?

CM Punk will most likely go to the SD roster though.

I'm also surprised this wasn't posted yet.

Well it does makes sense to use Cena and Jericho on SD to boost it up. Miz is already doing his share on SD. Time to mix this up and get big names on SD.

Yeah, the problem is selling the PPVs when the fans who cant get USA only know half of what's going on! I knew it would come to this sooner or later!

In fairness, the theory in the news article seems pretty plausible really so it will be interesting to see whether they actually go through with this idea.

They can boost SD by giving them rws biggest names. In turn they can just say Taker to Raw to balance it fresh off mania

Typo in the title of the thread "Biggest" should say most useless. I really wouldn't mind Cena going to SD but would it pull the ratings? I mean if your plan is to make some of the guys that deserve to be on Raw go to SD just to have them on Raw all the time anyway it's time to end this. The Supershow should have been the nail should have just ended it.

I can see the logic but can see it making a huge difference to ratings unless they scrap the whole brand thing altogther

Well WWE isn't going to put John Cena on SD! and the "or" option of Chris Jericho is a laughable in comparison. I hope WWE has some big things planned for the draft... but nowadays I think I would prefer something along the lines of Nexus in 2010. Just something shocking since it's pretty much impossible to make the brands relevant in terms WWE would like them to.

^This. If there was a proper brand rivalry then the draft would actually mean something. WWE need to either make it two seperate brands where the rosters don't appear on both shows or they need to make it one roster.

I don't agree with the news story though where it says that Vince knows he can have both rosters on the one show because of the SuperShow concept. I thought that that was over at WM? I seem to remember them saying that it would stop after that event and wouldn't continue for the rest of the year.

I'm thinking the Supershow will stay. The draft is really meaningless as they don't follow it at all. Guys show up to either show basically whenever they feel like it.
