  • Man, I still never played any of the Uncharted series. A few of my friends who play the same kind of games I do all say it's awesome too. I might have to give in and give the series a go. I never even finished AC Revelations. That game grew stale so god damn fast...

Didn't really have a problem with God of War III's ending though. I wasn't crazy about the crap with the little girl, but I didn't think the series or the game were ruined just because of her. And the final battle with Zeus was pretty satisfying for me.
The one thing that really makes me doubt it was their intention are the plotholes. Especially the destruction of the mass relays not utterly turning the entire galaxy into a humongous black hole that in turn eradicates all of existence. Also reading fan comments on Facebook links, people who actually claim to have no problem with the ending... christ. I want to punch them all in the fucking nuts. Either people living in severe denial or just people who shouldn't be making opinions of it in the first place. I rarely flame people on Facebook, but good lord I couldn't help it. I was dropping f bombs all over it earlier today. I even gave in and poured out my soul on the Bioware forum. My name there is Ex-Cerberus btw if you're ever around.
It really make sense in a way when you think about it, considering they've stated that the fans have helped write the series, and they probably wanted us to decide how it should end. That WOULD have been a great idea, and regardless of whether that was their intention all along or not, I'm sure if they do decide to release a "corrected" ending, they'll play it down like it was their intention all along anyways. It better fucking happen though, including that video you sent me, I've read 3 other fan suggestions that are a million times better than the endings we got and considering how brilliant the rest of the game is and how I doubt any fan could have wrote the rest of it any better, it boggles my mind that Bioware didn't think of something better than all of them the FIRST time.
And yeah I was pretty bummed we didn't get to see Omega again and there was very little of Aria, but I could've lived with that if only they had left the series OPEN at the end with some sort of promise that eventually we would get to go back, like on the next game. I thought the exact same thing about Thessia too, but again, that's a very small gripe for me. Would have been nice to see Thessia all majestically before the Reapers showed up, but I really could've lived with that under different circumstances. It's a gripe not even worth mentioning when the ENDING is the main gripe.
Yeah that ending blows the fucking doors off the ME3 ending. That is seriously what SHOULD have happened. I read it and I was like, "Wow, is this Drew Karpynshyn?" And it's amazing because it's virtually the same scenario with talking to the Crucible at the end, only a few more lines of dialogue are added and 1 other choice, which leads to one hell of an awesome ending. Yeah, you'd hate the ME3 10 thousand times more after reading that. It's a damn shame Bioware didn't think of it first. Alien in sci-fi horror, Aliens is more action horror. It has space marines, guns, guns, and more guns, the whole nine yards. Nothing like Star Trek and Battlestar. I was never into Battlestar, that's way too geeky for me. I can watch some Star Trek, but ehhh... it was more interesting when I was like, WAY younger.
Oh yeah, and read this Mass Effect 3 Alternate Endings. SPOILERS by *Arkis on deviantART

This is how it SHOULD have been. Karpynshyn would've been proud.
We'll see if they release DLC to fix the ending, but that would seriously be the first time I've heard of such a thing. I wasn't enraged over the ending like most people seem to be, but after thinking it over, I'm not gonna lie... I can't defend it. At all. I just fail to see why the entire series should come down to "synthetics are evil and will ALWAYS cause trouble, and organics shouldn't be allowed to create them". Also let-down that Harbinger was practically absent from the entire game, except that last scene when you're running to the conduit (I think that's him shooting at you anyways). If the Crucible leads the reapers, then where does Harbinger do? If he was only in charge of the Collectors, why is he the one taunting you during the Arrival DLC? I figure they might as well have let another Reaper talk shit since you practically already punked Harbinger anyways. Seems like it would have been an excellent time for him to shut the fuck up.
I'm really surprised you don't want to see any of the Alien movies tbh. If you ever change your mind, definitely see the sequel Aliens at least. The first one (Alien) is really slow and might lose your interest (still not a bad movie though), but you don't need to see it to understand Aliens. Aliens is very fast-paced, fantastic story, and exceptional special effects even by today's standards. The last two Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection completely suck, don't even bother. I would feel like a bad sci-fi fan for not at least bringing all that to your attention. I find it hard to believe a Mass Effect fan wouldn't enjoy Aliens.
I'm not knocking the other 99% of the game at all though, for the most part, everything else was more than satisfying, particularly the superb gameplay. The biotic combos are what really keep me coming back and make it a bummer for me to be forced to use anyone other than Javik and Liara on my squads. Haven't got into the electronic combos yet, but they all pretty much set up with Overload. No idea if they're s devastating as the biotic combos, but there's not as many ways to do them. With biotics, you can see up the combos with either pull, stasis, dark channel, slam, or singularity, and you detonate them with warp for the most effectiveness, but throw works too. Makes a nice biotic explosion that cripples at least one enemy and sends anyone near it flying. Love the hell out of that.
The only thing that has made me chill out on playing ME3 is the near seizure-induced state I was in after running through the whole game twice last week. Fuck Mac Walters though, the story was fine for most of it because he was just playing in Drew Karpynshyn's sandbox and didn't really have to add anything to the story, but that one moment at the end where he DID... he fucked it up royally. Even the writer for the last novel William Dietz couldn't even do THAT. They had to release "corrections" for the novel because there were flat out mistakes in his story-telling of the universe. I'm more pissed at Drew for not finishing what he started. He made something incredible and handed it over to morons.
The only problem I had with the ending is that it focused the entire saga on the impossibility of coexistence between organics and synthetics... which practically contradicts everything involving Legion. And my only options are either to wipe out the Reapers AND the Geth (but not EDI for some reason), or become the enemy and tell the rest of the Reapers to simply "back off" (ummmm...), or fucking turn the entire galaxy into cyborgs. The former is the only tolorable ending, but I didn't want to kill the Geth or destroy the mass relays. How does everyone get back home after you fucking do that anyways? Oh yeah, Rannoch is saved finally, too bad we will never fucking GET THERE now.
As for Aliens, one if the last scenes in the movie involves the main character Ripley going through a dark facility with a flamethrower, eventually finding the alien queen and setting fire to her eggs. Even the rachni queen heavily resembles the alien queen. Unmistakable. Joker flat out quotes a line from The Matrix early in the game, it was the first allusion I picked up on. Aria's voice actress is one of the main characters in that trilogy. Thresher maws might even be inspired from the sand worms from Beetlejuice tbh, not sure about that, but might be.
The Empire Strikes Back is referenced heavily on Jacob's mission. The whole evacuation scenerio might as well be Hoth. The thunderous rumbling inside the facility from the Cerberus bombardment, just like the sound of the ATAT's walking in Star Wars. Even when the first shuttle gets away and they announce it on speakers and everyone cheers... that is unmistakenly a Star Wars reference.
