The BET Awards 2011 keep getting better. For, in what seems to be a case of saving the best until last, the network have just announced that Beyonce will be performing at their 11th annual show.

Though the 29 year old won’t be physically present at the Los Angeles based event, she will no doubt rock the Shrine Auditorium when she performs live via satellite from Glastonbury in the UK.

The ‘Run The World (Girls)‘ singer joins bandmate Kelly Rowland, Mary J Blige, Chris Brown, and more on the star-studded performance bill. {Source}

Needless to say, the slot will no doubt give a major boast to the release of her ‘4′ LP – which arrives in stores two says later on June 28th.

Alicia Keys rarely makes waves, but when she does, everyone takes notice. The “Superwomanâ€￾ chided George Michael after the ’80s pop icon was a no show at her Black Ball charity gala.

“#Blackball Uk was a TREMENDOUS Success!!!!â€￾ wrote the Keep a Child Alive founder before thanking supporters including Mark Ronson, Tinie Tempah, and Boy George for lending their support to her non-profit organization that fights HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

The annual fundraiser was held in London on Wednesday, June 15, and was expected to feature a performance from the “Faithâ€￾ singer. But when he didn’t appear, Keys called him out on Twitter, asking, “but one question…..what kind of person bails on 15million orphans…..#GEORGEMICHEAL???? ;-(.â€￾

Michael previously explained his absence, attributing it to a toothache. “Hi boyz n girls….bad news im afraid. This tooth ain’t getting better in time for tonight, not enough to sing anyway,â€￾ he told his followers. “I’m really sorry folks. You watch, it’ll be totally fine by tomorrow. Bloody typical. I hope not too many of my lovelies managed to grab a ticket. Of course I’d recommend going anyway, Alicia is great live, and @KeepaChildAlive is great charity to donate to.â€￾

Once a dominant force, Ashanti’s star – love her or loathe her – has undeniably dimmed over the years.
Hoping to turn the tide, the Muli-Platinum selling singer is gearing up for the release of her 5th studio album – due later this year. Hence, so as to wet the apetite of fans, the 30 year old stopped by US Weekly’s offices this week, answering fans questions about the project.

01. Can you tell us a release date for the first single?
Single is coming out way sooner than you think
02. Who are some newer artists you listen to frequently?
I like Adele, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars.
03. Do you have a favorite song off the new album and what’s the title of that song?
Two of my favorite songs the from new album so far are “Paradise” and “She Can’t”.
04. Are you going to tour with this album to the UK?
Absolutely will go on tour in the UK!
05. Are you doing anymore movies anytime soon?
I actually just got an amazing lead role which I can’t talk about too much but I’m so excited!
06. Tell us something we do not know about the album?
Something you don’t know about the new album – There’s one song that made me cry as I was writing it and again when I listened back
07. How difficult is it to decide which songs to put on your albums?
It’s excruciating to decide. I’ve tried so many different sounds, some out of my comfort zone, but I feel good about it
08. You’re the best female artist, bring back old school music before theres nothing left!

09. How will this album be different then your previous records?
Completely new producers, some from the UK, some from LA and lots of them are young.
10. Next year marks the 10th anniversary for your debut album (a classic) would do anything special for that?

11. What kind of shoes does Ashanti have on?
Black 7-inch christian louboutin pumps with shoe inserts from CVS. LOL
12. What’s your favorite song out right now? P.S i love u and can’t wait for the new album!

Hardest part was testing new waters, new people and taking on responsibility of my own label: Written Entertainment. I had to…
14. What were the major influences for your latest album?
Major influences: spending lots of time in LA and real life experiences
15. Does Ashanti style herself of does she have a stylist?
Of course, I have a stylist
16. What is your most memorable fan moment?
My fans are amazing! From the several fan books they made me to the birthday DVDs, the t-shirts, stuffed animals and etc.
17. Can we get a fan DVD uncut behind the scenes footage from momanger’s cam?
Actually, Momanger is working on that!
18. What type of record is the first single?? ballad, club joint, etc.?
It’s definitely not a ballad!

While the masses may give a collective side-eye, yours truly is definitely looking forward to what Ms. Douglas will be serving up this go round. For, despite her popularity waning, she has improved leaps and bounds as a vocalist (‘The Declaration’ is still the bomb.com). It does make one think though: is it simply too little too late?

Alicia Keys says a collaboration with Adele is "definitely a possibility."
The 30-year-old songstress has revealed she would love to record a track with the super-talented British singer-songwriter.

Alicia, who is married to fellow music star Swizz Beatz, has joked that the current reports surrounding the collaboration are a result of her meddling husband.

"I think he started that! Look at this guy he’s like a rumour starter,” she quipped in an interview with MTV. "Listen, Adele is one of our favourite artists and I think she’s very special and she has a beautiful style about her. I think there’s definitely a possibility for us to do something together."
Swizz agreed that the duet should go ahead. Referring to him starting the initial rumours, the record producer quipped "And I’m tryna finish it!”

Alicia has worked with some of the best stars in the business including R& B royalty Usher and Jay-Z.

Just when you thought the dust had settled, Chris Brown finds himself in another Twitter beef. After feuding with Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator, a new dispute erupted between Breezy and Tyler’s OFWGKTA affiliate Frank Ocean on Friday (June 17).

Chris sent out a tweet that sparked the fight, comparing Ocean to songwriters James Fauntleroy and Kevin Cossom. “I fuck wit Frank Ocean! Reminds me of a young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossum,” he wrote.
The “Novacane” singer, who’s written for Beyoncé and Brandy, responded, “i fucks wit chris brown, reminds me of a young sisqo or ike turner,” adding, “i just dont like underhanded comments. thats all im saying.”
That’s when things took a turn for the worse. “@frank_ocean it was a compliment you bitch ass ni**a. Everybody claim to be the devil till they meet him,” Chris fired back. “I was tryna help yo sales smurf. You fuckin clown! You and @fucktyler would be casted great for planet of the apes!”
Tyler, the Creator jumped in with his two cents. “What’s Wrong Christopher? Amber Rose Stole Your Style Bro Bro?” he tweeted. “Why Are You Mad Tho? Like Really, You’re Bigger Than Us Christopher. You Act Like You Like To Eat Soup, Aren’t You A Role Model?”
Game, no stranger to beef himself, offered his advice to all parties. “@fucktyler the homie & @frankocean just starting what can be a long successful career.. Don’t fuck it up by beefin’. FOCUS ni**as, FOCUS !!!” he said, telling Chris, “focus on ‘YOU’ blood. BEEF aint gettin n!ggas nowhere these days. All you do is LOSE, endorsements, appearances & oppurtunities.”

Jeremih takes on Adele’s “Rumour Has It” for Billboard Mashup Mondays. The R&B crooner strips down the British singer’s soulful song off her multi-platinum album 21, showing off his skills on the drums and keyboard with his guitar-laced remake. He even throws in melodies from Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby,” Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure,” and his own hit “Down on Me.”
“You probably have never heard this type of sound from my voice, so I just wanted to touch it and see what I could do with it,” the 23-year-old Chicago native told Billboard. “I think [Adele is] one of the hottest new breakthrough artists. I love her sound of music. It kinda gives me the old Motown sound of music that I grew up listening to.”
Now that Jeremih’s covered Adele, can we get Adele to cover “Birthday Sex,” please?

R&B diva Jennifer Hudson strikes a pose on the set of the video for her new single ‘No One Gonna Love You’. The Rich Harrison produced cut serves as the second single to be lifted from her sophomore set ‘I Remember Me’.
Looking at the sales of the project to date, Hudson will no doubt be hoping record buyers remember it after the release of this song.

Hot Shots: Kelly Rowland Films Fitness DVD

Kelly Rowland is putting a whole new twist on ‘Motivation’. The 29 year old star is has teamed up with her trainer Jeanette Jenkins for a new fitness DVD – due out later this year.
In the meanwhile, folk can catch Rowland working the stage at the BET Awards this Sunday, when she gives the the first televised performance of ‘Motivation’.

Beyoncé steps back into the spotlight in her commercial for Target. A deluxe version of her new album 4 will be available exclusively at the retailer on June 28 featuring six additional tracks. In the 30-second ad, the R&B diva shows what she did during her down time as her song “Countdown” plays in the background.
“It’s hard to see when you move so fast, so I left the stage and I joined the audience. I didn’t perform, I observed,” she says as images of her traveling and writing flash across the screen. “And what I saw inspired me, and now I’m ready to step back into the light.”
The clip closes with a ravishing B returning to the stage. “I put so much into my new album and only Target gives you all of it.”

Monica is giving birth to New Life this fall. The R&B singer has announced a delivery date for her 7th studio album.

The follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Still Standing, which entered at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart last year, is tentatively slated for an October 4 release. It will include production from Missy Elliott and Polow Da Don, with the first single due in as soon as two weeks.
“The label [J Records] has asked me, do I want to take an October 4 date,” Monica told fans during a Ustream session. “Over the next month I’ll decide because as of right now, we’re pressing up the new single and trying to get some clearances which are very difficult, so if anything changes it will only be because of that. We’re working on it and I’m thinking that I will keep that October 4 date.”
The mother of two, who wed Lakers player Shannon Brown last year, is in a happy place and that reflects in her new music. “You get to hear some different flavors, but it’s definitely R&B,” she shared. “I think when you’re in a happy place, you’re able to do your job a lot easier.”
Once again, she will be sharing her life experiences on the album. “I talk about a lot of different subjects, whether it’s love, heartache, happiness, family,” she added. “The music will be a lot like Still Standing in the sense that it’s real and really about things that I’ve experienced, but it also from a very mature place. The greatest thing that happened to me is to learn forgiveness and acceptance. In this state of mind it’s easy for me to make music about where I’ve been and where I’m going and do it in a positive manner.”
A tour is also in the works, but Monica did not disclose further details.
