Nah I don't think he's outright lying either but I do think he's making it worse for Tony, especially if that fightful report is accurate that people felt they were moving in a positive direction before yesterday.

And Dave's forum post about the lawyers still doesn't seem plausible to me at all, Punk's argument of doctors clearance being the issue makes way more sense to me so I'd be pretty fucking peeved at Dave for that if it's inaccurate and that set off Punk when Tony may have thought he was smoothing things over.

Not a defense of Punk's reaction but I would 100% want to find out who told that stuff to Dave that set this off bc it's pretty unacceptable leaking that stuff especially if it's not even accurate

Yeah I'm basically saying I find a lot of people at fault here still. I also don't think Punk should give two shits about a Meltzer forum post and if you do, just make some passive aggressive joke about him not type up that whole thing. People wonder why fans take Meltzer so serious but then you see wrestlers getting so mad at him like this, if he's irrelevant and "not a real journalist" then you shouldn't give him the time of day. If it's true, then it probably was Mox or Tony himself tbh bc I really don't think many others would have even been privy, and you can piece together enough from both sides to tell like 75% of the story so there's def some truth (Punk not a fan of the angle, moxley wanting it, etc.)

But since i think Dave's side isn't accurate I can also buy pretty much anyone telling him it bc they may not have had all the facts and that's what resulted in this lol

Regarding Jericho, I am just going to say it

Can we really actually blame the guy for getting his opinion on Punk out there? He probably has the most experience working with the guy as he worked with him in two companies. He's seen what's happened with Punk in WWE first hand. He was also front seat for Brawl Out. Jericho took a huge risk going to AEW and makes a good living there and is proud of the company he works for. Jericho has also always been a company man, so is it really such a terrible thing for him to want to protect what he perceives is a potential danger to the company? I kind of get it tbh, and I don't buy the politicking angle for him to get a better position, either. He hasn't sniffed the world title in a long time. What's his master plan here, get young guys over?

I can also see a scenario where Jericho did see that Punk may have been on the process of coming back and making amends and he really doesn't want him back (could be bc he thinks more issues will arise, could just be bc he hates the fucker, probs a mixture of both tho) so he's trying to get his POV across and was hoping Punk reacted the way he did to kill any progress. Essentially Punk would be a pawn here and played his role perfectly which is kinda hilarious and sad.
