I think the idea was pitched way earlier but Punk was still "not cleared" or "injured" . in either case, Mox was not even under contract and still agreed to put Punk over at All Out.While I do like the idea of a Rocky 3 type story. I don’t think it would’ve came off that well.
10 days isn’t enough time to try to tell that story
because Mox was still doing business and was trustworthy. Kenny and Punk was injured. He was also only taking some time to sign because he wanted tosee how he felt after rehab, it's not like he was considering signing elsewhere. It's not a mess at all, it's showing how much Mox is trusted with things in this company that even on a handshake deal he will do business. I really don't see why some people are making a fuss, who else were they realistically gonna put the belt on?How the fuck do you have your World Title on a guy not even signed though? That’s not me saying anything about Mox, that’s me questioning how Tony didn’t even get this man re-signed while he’s walking around with your damn title. Whole things a damn mess.
It’s more why Tony didn’t try to extend him than anything. You trust the guy enough, so I’m saying Tony should’ve took care of it.because Mox was still doing business and was trustworthy. who says he did not try to extend him though is more my point. In the podcast Mox simply said it came time to re-sign and he didnt want to commit to a super long time right away in case post rehab went bad. said if things stayed the same hed be here forever and he didnt care if he got paid via envelope each night (his words lol). Then when he realized being sober was awesome he re-upped. I think he is more bringing it up because he's like guys, I obviously do business, i wasnt even contracted and happily lost on ppv with 0 incentive to do so. at least thats how i took itIt’s more why Tony didn’t try to extend him than anything. Maybe, and if so then nevermind my questioning. Just seems odd he was champ and he hadn’t been reupped yet. Not because he’s not trust worthy, but because obviously he’s a huge damn deal to the company and you think he be signedIt's not like they weren't negotiating while doing so as well. This isn't the 80s/90s
