I mean if we wanted to really get into third movies being good, there's also:

Star Trek III: Search for Spock
Godfather Part III (a good movie, fuck off, don't care)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: The Dream Warriors
The Exorcist 3
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

etc.

Also Jedi is the first movie I remember seeing in the theater and the first act of the movie was such a spectacle it’s stayed with me to this day. Very much engrained into my childhood.

I don't remember it enough to comment one way or the other, never really been much of an Indiana Jones guy. I did like Temple of Doom

I rewatched both ToD and LC last year and liked ToD a lot more than before but Last Crusade is fuckin' amazing, I love Connery and Ford's dynamic

yeah p much, hence why i pulled out tmnt 3. was esp refering to the 3rd movie trope where fsr they go to some other time period or era. in both examples here it was wild west and feudal Japan
