The Dresden Dose: Monday Night WAR October 3rd Edition

Hello WrestlingSmarks faithful. As promised, I am back with another article for this week's edition of Monday Night WAR. In an update on my recent internet issues, a representative from my provider came by and fixed it this morning so expect to see me more active around the forum. In another update regarding what I said last week about leaving the writing team, I was convinced to stay on and after talking to a few of the guys, I see that I made the right choice. Thank you guys for appreciating the contributions I make.

This week's edition is going to be a special treat because I have not yet read this week's show, so I will be giving "live thoughts" for lack of a better term, giving my feedback as it comes to me whilst reading. So now, I'm not a doctor but I play one on the internet, and this is my prescription for your wrestling needs, the Dresden Dose!

WAR opens this week with an interaction between Zack Ryder and Vince McMahon, announcing that there will be another change in the general manager of the show.
Normally, judging by my words about the frequent changes in the last edition, I would be ranting about this right about now but I knew about it beforehand and as a result, there's a new tag team on its way to CWF, and that's always a plus, especially since both shows can book them.

The new GM, by the way, is none other than Bret Hart, who was in a very brief tag team with Shawn Michaels the last time he appeared in CWF before the rule regarding frequent character changes was implemented.

The show officially opens with John Cena coming out to cut a promo. It starts off in standard Cena fashion, but wait, the swerve of all swerves is made and he goes full on heel. The turn was well handled, in fact it was done in such a satisfying way that if WWE were to take a similar approach, I would approve. However, it's starting to feel like we have too many heels.

We follow a promo with a promo, this one from HHH and Stephanie. One of the lines that jumped out at me was, "those two juicy things that pack a punch on Stephanie", certainly one of the more interesting metaphors I've heard for breasts. I can hear Hunter saying it too. The finishing line about catchphrases was good too.

The first commercial of the night is for the return of Beavis & Butthead. I'll be honest, when this was first announced, I was very skeptical and here's why. When Beavis & Butthead was around there wasn't a lot of other animated programming that crossed the line in the way they did. Now you have Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, and South Park and Simpsons are still around. Then I saw the part of the first episode that leaked online and well, I think it'll do just fine.

Back from commercial, we are right into our first match of the night, Sheamus defending his Hardcore Championship against HHH. Nice to see him coming out to an older theme by the way, that's a nice touch. Regarding the match, I was surprised to see how brief this one is. An impressive reign cut down in its prime, that's for sure. I'd say there's a reason for it though.

We go from that to another promo from Jericho, who has a rather Jericho-esque back and forth with Josh Mathews playing the role of Jack Korpela. In all my reviews, I've yet to be able to say a bad thing about promos, unless I suggested it sounded recycled from the real product, but as far as, "Man, this promo sucked", it has yet to occur. And that's because everyone I've seen cuts a good promo.

Our second commercial of the night is for Nutella. I will say using actual products as sponsors for the show is a nice addition, it adds a realm of realism. I myself have never partaken in this particular spread so I can't comment on the taste or the quality, but it must satisfy someone since it made it onto the show.

Back from commercial, we are joined by General Manager Bret Hart, as a still sour Tazz laments on commentary. And with that, the reason for taking the belt off of Sheamus seems clearer, as Bret Hart makes him the sixth competitor for the WAR Elimination Chamber. That was my suggestion, by the way.

Matt Hardy interrupts Bret, expressing disdain for Sheamus being chosen over him. He tells everyone to stay tuned which has me thinking we haven't seen the last of the "Sensei of Mattitude" tonight. From that we cut to a backstage promo from Robbie E and Cookie, who get cheered by the way. I would never cheer these two.

Anyhoo, his partner will be revealed next week as teased by Robbie himself. It's nice to see the tag team division growing, especially since yours truly holds the titles, as each new team is a potential new challenge.

Our third commercial is for the new Blink-182 album. I've heard a few songs off of the album via YouTube and so far, it's pretty satisfactory. Welcome back, Blink. Although with Angels & Airwaves having the same singer, it's like they never left. And +44 was the other two, so there ya go.

Back from commercial, we go straight to our second match of the night, Cody Rhodes versus Batista, which is, believe it or not, shorter than the Hardcore Championship match. And with no proper segue, we're into our next match of Kurt Angle versus Justin Gabriel, which is also short. Must've been a lack of TT'ing this week. At least Gabriel and Jacobs both have a win, so that makes the Trio of Darkness look strong.

Our fourth commercial is a doctored photo of Stone Cold Steve Austin made to appear as Michael Cole with the text of the shirt edited. It's funny because of the shirt but also because it almost looks legit. You and I both know he's nowhere near that muscular though.

Back from commercial we are joined by none other than R.E.M.E.D.Y., who are none too happy about being left off of the show tonight. While Eddie shows frustration and warns of what's coming to the number one contenders to the championships, Truth briefly touches on how it feels to be the champions. Jesse Ventura has nothing to add this week as the three men leave to the back.

The real reason behind their absence was my recent internet problems of course, but it's much more fun to go with the storyline version. I can't wait to see who I'll be defending against at Elimination Chamber.

After R.E.M.E.D.Y. leaves, it is time for the third match of the evening, CWF Heavyweight Champion Finlay versus Chris Jericho in a non-title bout. This was the longest match we've gotten thus far, and a rather good one. Due to a restart because of cheating on Finlay's part, Jericho picks up the win in this. A preview of things to come?

Booker T gets involved post-match and gets sprayed in the eyes with green mist. That certainly was not expected but it's an interesting addition to the character. Our fifth commercial is for EPICMEALTIME. No idea what that is, so moving on.

Back from commercial we are joined by The Rock, who is being played by someone else again after Hoov and Purple PuNk had their turn. The Rock is apparently in a tag team with Santino Marella now. Kudos to thinking outside the box, whoever is behind this comedic pairing. However, my point from earlier has been proven. Rock/Santino and Robbie E with Cookie are the only face promos on this show. Jericho, HHH, and R.E.M.E.D.Y. were heel promos. Cena's was half heel, and the segment with Bret was also half heel because of Hardy's involvement.

Following the promo, we have our fourth match of the show, Edge versus Austin. Not a bad match and not all that brief. Edge comes out victorious, but what's this? Austin gets jumped by a masked man and the members of Mattitude, and I mean jumped, they bloody him ridiculously.

So the things of note are Matt Hardy is replacing Austin in the Chamber match and Jeff Hardy is now part of Mattitude. Certainly interesting, that's for sure.

My final thoughts are this was an okay show. The matches were too short for me to really enjoy and it was very promo heavy. Granted this was the post-Invasion show, but they had a week to put it together, it's not like it was done the next night.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review, I'll be back on Thursday night to review Honor. Please give me your feedback on the review or what you thought about this episode of WAR, what you thought of my promo, whatever. It'd be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

A possible HHH/Truth match on top of me defending my tag titles and possibly getting a shot at the IC belt, eh? I like the sound of that, I'd certainly work hard to TT for all three of those matches were they all to be made. Haven't faced albo since Kane was on WAR, it should certainly be a treat to take him on again as R-Truth. With everything else lined up, both matches and promos, this looks to be a stellar show.

Another good edition of the Dresden Dose, although I've come to expect that. Some of what you said made me laugh, although that's really not much of a feat nowadays, but good stuff nonetheless. I enjoyed the read, and agreed with pretty much what you wrote. Godspeed, and I hope we can see another.

Horoscopes

Can a horoscope really forecast who will likely be a superb husband? Can a horoscope forecast who shall be unfaithful? How frightening is that? The massive question is, if you your boyfriend's daily horoscope clearly reveals that he'll make a nasty husband will you continue to marry him? ninety% of ladies think they'd nonetheless marry a man whose horoscope declares him as unqualified for the function of husband. So does becoming foreadvised actually assist at all? However 95% of college educated girls state that if they're granted a chance to see what their forthcoming married living holds, they'd wish to be in the know. Unusual certainly! These women need to know, however could still jump in the place angels worry to tread. There are numerous good resources of daily horoscope love compatibility knowledge. The best sources are publications similar to 'sunsigns'. On-line sources could also be outstanding or second-rate depending on the website. One notably good site is: daily horoscope

Even as we are discussing this interesting topic look at this sensational singer presenting his number "horoscope" A great deal better than any of those duffs on American Idol:
Watch this talented guy on YouTube belt out "Horoscope" with his guitar If you love his song PLEASE tell him what you think. He doesn't accept as true when us his buddies tell him that he totally rocks!
