Pretty obvious this is just Sony's version of Smash Bros. Looks like it will be a fun party game for sure, but really Sony doesn't really have a ton of memorable character for this to compete with SB. There's pretty much Kratos and Crash Bandicot, that's pretty much it. Gameplay is going to have to be top notch to make up for the lack of characters.

Anyways game drops Q4 of this year, just in time for the holidays.

I agree with Super Smash Bros. but this should be intresting with all the characters if done well. Crash Bandicoot and Kratos? Playstation has tons of more characters. Solid Snake, Nathan Drake, Jak and daxter, Sackboy, Ratchet and Clank, Cole and the people they've already shown such as Fat Princess, Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, Parappa the rapper and a guy from Killzone apparently.

I agree with you Ben, Sony has never really made their characters memorable like Nintendo. I'm pretty sure Nintendo basically takes every character they create and makes a brand out of them and includes them in several games and that really makes Super Smash Bros one of a kind. This looks like it'll be good fun though if done right and I'm sure at the very least, the presentation will be better since Wii isn't in HD. Once WiiU comes out though Nintendo's gonna take back the crown for best crossover arcade fighting game.

Anyone get this game yet? I preordered it and have played it for a couple hours and I have to say its pretty fun. The thing is after awhile it just gets really repetitive. It's good for about an hour or two of party play but that's it. There's no unlock able characters and the only way to kill someone is by using a super. I'd much prefer the smash bros. method of after being hurt so much you become more susceptible to getting killing by basic maneuvers. Like most fighting games, if you don't really have friends over or someone to trash talk with, I wouldn't recommend buying it.

It's pretty popular among my gaming friends already. I didn't care for it but I suck at SSB in the first place. It's also got a pretty good learning curve for online play if you learn to use your finishers correctly. It's just not my kind of fighting game, I just like to mash buttons.

I played the beta on PS+, and was extremely underwhelmed with the whole thing. Radoc was OP, having a ranged attack that causes your opponent to fly away from you, honestly just keep hitting that move and you will win without ever being attacked. Sweet Tooth looked great, but wasnt anything special, Parappa was just goofy as all hell, same with Fat Princess, the only character that really seemed to fit was Kratos, he has some really powerful moves, and some really fast moves.

People could just avoid you if you spam the move. Can't win you never get any power. ( I forgot what they call their finishers.) I do think this game actually is a button mashing game. Mainly you just need to know how to use your powers. You need to know what they do and to control them and the rest is button mashing. Raiden seems like the best character but I've done very good with Fat Princess and the cat. I can't think of his name. I think Big Daddy and Jak and Dexter suck the most though. So does Sir Daniel. I hope they decide to put more characters in in a DLC.

Big Daddy does have an awesome finisher where the screen all fills with water and he can just glide through and kill people.

Yeah but he's just so slow you can probably only kill 3 people max. Others can potentially kill 4 or 5.
