I don't consider it a cowardice act whatsoever. Again, if people weigh the options and come to the conclusion that suicide is their best option, for whatever reason, that's their business IMO and they should kill themselves. I don't mean to sound cold, that's just how I feel. I realize some people suffer from mental illness so they might not be thinking clearly, but that's Darwinism to me. Sounds harsh I know. I do agree with @
geekgoddess though about it becoming a cultural thing in the US. Depression is in, man. It is almost like people want to be depressed, just look at how many people are on antidepressant medication vs how many people are truly suffering from a chemical imbalance in their brain causing real depression. But people line up for those pills that basically turn you into a lifeless zombie from what I've seen. But they are 'happy' lol.
In a case like you are talking about, how is it cowardice? If your quality of life has deteriorated that much and there is no hope of a legitimate turnaround and you come to the decision that it would be better to just go out at that point having lived the life you lived that is 100% cool in my book. Suicide is just one of the many personal freedoms I choose to believe in. People should have the right to end their own life if they really want to. Simple as that. Nobody should be able to look down on your or judge you because its your fucking life. Do what you want.
