I think my larger overall point for it being predatory is that 90 days is a long time, and it utterly undercuts a wrestler's ability to entertain an open market when a company puts in a severance option thats only open to one other entity, and not others.

It's anticompetitive
Yeah, that I agree with. But :lol the first shit you said, was not at all what OMB said.

90 days is a long time and nobody being fired by a company should be forced to wait out offers. Point blank.
yeah, and I said that in there in the perfect world and what I rather it be is no one wait. Maybe read my reply my guy.

It seems like it's semantics though.

I disagree tbh that that's not what OMB was meaning.
Well then you didn't read everything, cause when I asked if he meant

"Like if they release someone, they would be willing to wave the 90 days, if they sign with TNA, but anywhere else they would need to wait 90 days. Is this what you are saying?" that is word for word my post, he liked it and said :proud to it. So to me, that suggest this is what he meant. Thank you.

I beg of you to please point out how

"Sure, you can find work, if you wait. Buuuut, here's a company we highly recommend you sign to, and we'll let you out of this, free of charge!"

Is different to

"Like if they release someone, they would be willing to wave the 90 days, if they sign with TNA, but anywhere else they would need to wait 90 days."

Because I'm genuinely confused at this point

So if the 90 days got to be a thing, is it best to just make them all wait then? Like I said, YES, not having the 90 days for anyone is the best route, I 100% agree. But that's not the world we live in. So, the people who would want to go to TNA, if WWE would let them, what's wrong with that?

It would only be wrong if they tried to just give TNA the contract and the wrestler had no choice in it.

All things being equal and the 90 day non compete being an unfortunate reality? Yeah, it would still be ethically wrong in my eyes because you are still utilizing an anti-competitive tactic to lower a wrestler's potential marketability to other companies.

Even supposing a wrestler wants to join TNA, they could still get a nice offer from AEW that surpasses the TNA offer, but they might not know if they just waive the 90 days and sign with TNA right away.

We are both in agreement that it shouldn't exist of course, I just view tactics like this somewhat differently (also because I'm anti-monopoly and fuckin hate corporations lel)

90 days is a long time too, a lot can change in that time, and being out of action for 3 months can really make or break wrestling pushes sometimes.

That middle part is why I think most people would wait it out tbh. Like out of say every....20 people released, I could see maybe 1 taking them up on that offer, it it was an actual offer, and that being someone who maybe doesn't even wanna work for AEW so they wouldn't wait out any deal. But that would probably be a very very rare thing where they would not wanna hear out other offers.

But yeah, I 100% agree it just shouldn't exist at all, like I get your point to an extent. I do, I just would hope most people would wait it out. I know if I was a wrestler, I'd wait it out. Just to see what people think I'm worth.
