Backstory

It was two weeks after the Royal Rumble, and Vince's worst dreams came true. TNA was advancing on WWE, by defeating ECW in the ratings, and also TNA getting increasing ratings, while RAW and Smackdown!'s were declining. ECW's ratings were at an all time low, which prompted Vince to get rid of ECW for good. At WWE No Way Out, the last ECW Champion will be crowned, in a 10 man Extreme Battle Royal. After No Way Out, the ECW Championship, will become the Hardcore Championship, without the 24/7 rule. I will give you the quick results of No Way Out and Wrestlemania, and I will start from there.

wwe_no_way_out.jpg

No Way Out Card

WWE Championship: John Cena vs. WWE Champ Randy Orton

World Heavyweight Championship: Edge vs. Rey Mysterio

Smackdown Elimination Chamber: Undertaker vs. Batista vs. MVP vs. The Great Khali vs. Finlay vs. Kane (Big Daddy V is in the Battle Royal)

Raw Elimination Chamber: HHH vs. HBK vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga vs. JBL vs. Y2J

ECW Championship 10 man Battle Royal: The Sandman vs. Sabu vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. RVD vs. Mark Henry vs. CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Elijah Burke vs. ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero

Retirement Match: Ric Flair vs. Mr Kennedy (KENNEDY!!!)

Womens Championship: (Special Referee: Candice Michelle) Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James

WWE Tag Team Championships: One Fall: Edge Heads (Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder) vs. Londrick (who went over to Smackdown!) vs Tag Team Champs John Morrison and The Miz

No Way Out Results

The opening video package was all about ECW, which featured ECW Legends such as RVD, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu and The Sandman. It was all footage off the old ECW.

The crowd start chanting ECW, but the opening match was for the Tag Team Championships. After a great match up that went for 15 minutes, Kendrick hit The Sliced Bread onto The Miz!!! As he was about to cover, Hawkins came in with a chair, and smashed Brian in the face, but it is no DQ! Hawkins looked around and everyone was down, and he pinned Miz and he got the win!!!

Winners and NEW Tag Team Champions, The Edge Heads!!

Next up is the retirement match between Ric Flair and Mr Kennedy... KENNEDY!!! It was a good match between the two, with Flair's career looking finished, after Kennedy hit a Mic Check, but Flair kicked out! Kennedy got frustrated and hit the ref, and then went up top, but Flair low blowed him while Kennedy was up top, and Kennedy crumbled to the floor! Flair locked in the Figure Four and another ref came charging down, and Kennedy tapped!!

Winner: Ric Flair

The womens championship match is on now, with Candice calling it right down the middle. Beth hit the Down In Flames, but somehow Mickie kicked out, but Beth returned the favour by kicking out of a Mick Kick. Mickie then put Beth up top going for a superplex, but Beth pushed her off. Beth was then distracted by Candice, and a look of fear came upon her face, realising that this was how she put Candice out of action. Candice kept pretending that she was going to do it, but Beth pleaded, but during this time, Mickie had got up, and delivered a Mick Kick while Beth was still on the top rope! Candice counted and Mickie won. After the match, the two women celebrated.

Winner and new champion, Mickie James.

The crowd the began to pop huge, as the Elimination Chamber descended for the first time in the night. Here are the main facts.
Entry Order:
1. Great Khali @ 0:00
2. Kane @ 0:00
3. Batista @ 3:00
4. Finlay @ 6:00
5. Undertaker @ 9:00
6. MVP @ 12:00

Elimination Order:
1. Kane via Double handed Chokebomb by Khali @ 7:45
2. The Great Khali via shillelagh shot from Finlay and spear from Batista @ 13:32
3. Finlay via Playmaker onto the steel by MVP @ 15:57
4. MVP was about to eliminate Undertaker it seemed, after busting him wide open by repeatedly bouncing his head into the chain and then when he seated the Undertaker against the cell, he gave him his patented running boot, it looked as though the final two would be MVP and Batista, but that didnt happen, as when he was about to go for the pin, OH YEAAAAAA! MATT HARDY RETURNED! MVP couldnt believe what he was seeing, and Matt told him to turn around, and Batista connected with a Spinebuster onto the steel, and that was enough to eliminate MVP @ 20:18!
5. The final two were Batista and The Undertaker, Wrestlemania 23 and Survivor Series opponents. These two have had some classic duels, and it came down to this, the right to face the World Heavyweight Champion at Wrtestlemania 24. After a ten minute clinic between the two men, who both now were wearing the proverbial mask, it came down to a brutal finish, after both men kicked out of the others finishers. Batista climbed up onto one of the pods, and was closely followed by The Undertaker. The two men traded blow after blow, until it looked as though Batista would spinebuster Taker off the pod, Taker reversed, and GRABBED BY THE THROAT, AND CHOKESLAMMED HIM OFF THE POD!!!!!!!!!!!! That was enough to finish the match, and The Undertaker is going to Wrestlemania!!

Winner and Number 1 Contender for The World Heavyweight Championship, The Undertaker!!!!!!

Raw Elimination Chamber Main Facts

Entry:
1. JBL
2. Y2J
3. Umaga @ 3:00
4. HHH w/ sledgehammer @ 6:00
5. HBK @ 9:00
6. Jeff Hardy @ 12:00'

Elimination:
1. Umaga @ 7:30 via sledgehammer shot and Codebreaker by HHH and Chris Jericho respectively.
2. Chris Jericho @ 10:55 via low blow and small cradle hooking the tights by JBL
3. After JBL eliminated Jericho, he started taunting him and then went over to HHH, who was outside on the steel. Jericho had gotten up and realised what JBL had done, so he went over to JBL, who was pounding away at HHH near one of the glass pods. Jericho rushed outside, with the ref telling him to leave, but he went straight over to JBL, who was not ready for Y2J. Jericho then picked up JBL AND GAVE HIM A CODEBREAKER WHICH SENT JBL THROUGH ONE OF THE PODS! Triple H then draped an arm over Bradshaw, and got the cover @ 11:45.
4. Jeff Hardy, HBK and HHH put on a great show, with no-one getting eliminated for 10 minutes. When the match reached the 25 minute mark, HBK went to hit Hardy with the Sweet Chin Music, but he ducked and connected with Triple H!! While HBK was momentarily distracted, Hardy jumped onto one of the unbroken pods and CONNECTED WITH A WHISPER IN THE WIND OFF THE POD! Hardy then covered Michaels, and HBK is eliminated!
5. The two men who fought at Armageddon are left. Another 10 minute clinic, which took the match past the half hour mark. HHH tried to finish it with a sledgehammmer shot, but Hardy ducked, and then dropkicked the sledgehammer into HHH's face. Hardy then went for another daredevil move, a SWANTON BOMB OFF THE POD, BUT WHEN HE LEAPT, HHH MOVED AND HIT HARDY IN THE BACK WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER!!! HHH WINS!!!

Winner and going to Wrestlemania 24 to face the WWE Champion, Triple H!!!!!!

World Heavyweight Championship: Edge and Rey Mysterio put on a great show for us, with them battling it out for twenty or so minutes. These two had great chemistry, with Edge's technical style mixing with Rey's high flying ability. The E & G Family without Chavo come down to ringside and it distracts Rey. Edge goes for a spear, but Mysterio dodges and trips him up on the ropes. 619! Drop Da Dime! 1........2......Hawkins and Ryder come in and break up the pin with there newly won Tag Team Title Belts!!!

Winner by DQ, Rey Mysterio, but since the title can't change hands by disqualification, still World Champion, Edge!

The Edge Heads and Edge start pounding away at Rey and then the Edge Heads bring in two steel chairs, while Edge sets up Rey for the Spear. Wwhen he is about to charge, LIGHTS OUT! The Undertaker is here! Edge flees the Deadman, but the Edge Heads aren't so lucky. Taker then grabs Hawkins and Ryder by the throat, and gives them a Double Chokeslam! Taker's music hits, and when the lights go out again, Taker is gone. Edge runs his hands through his hair as the commentators hype up the first Mania match set, with stating it is Streak vs. Streak.

The ECW Championship Battle Royal is next, but I will just right out the eliminations. Final two battle it out in a one fall match.

Eliminations:
1. Big Daddy V by everyone in the ring @ 1:45.
2. Shelton Benjamin by CM Punk with a chair shot which sent him out of the ring @ 5:05
3/4. Elijah Burke and Mark Henry were eliminated at the same time. Burke was eliminated by RVD, after a Van Daminator with a ladder, and then Sandman smashed him in the back with the cane while he was standing groggily. The cane shot sent him into Henry, who was resting on the ropes @ 7:50.
5. CM Punk was eliminated by a Gory Bomb over the top rope by Chavo Guerrero, which sent him into the barbed wire board which was resting on the outside, which earned Holy Shit chants @ 11:10.
6. Tommy Dreamer was eliminated by Sabu @ 15:00 after Sabu hit Dreamer, who was resting on the ropes after just recovering from a White Russian Leg Sweep from The Sandman, with a leaping chair shot off another chair.
7. Sandman was cleaning house on the three remaining competitors, who were RVD, Sabu and Chavo Guerrero. But when Sandman tried to hit RVD with his Singapore Cane, but Sabu moved Rob out of the way, and Sandman's cane connected with the top rope, which then rebounded and hit him in the head. Sabu then picked up a barb wire bat and smashes Sandman in the face with it, which sends him over the top rope.
8. The former ECW Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu teamed up together to try and eliminate the current ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero. While Sabu was down after a brainbuster on a trash can a couple of minutes earlier, Chavo attempted a Three Amigoes to RVD, with the third trying to be over the top rope, but Rob landed on the apron. Chavo then charged back at Van Dam, but Rob caught him with a fore-arm to the face. Sabu then came from behind Chavo, and lifted Guerrero into a back suplex position, and then placed him onto RVD, into a powerbomb position. Sabu then slid under the bottom rope and set up a table on the outside. Rob then turned around and DELIVERED A MODIFIED POWERBOMB BY THROWING CHAVO OFF OF HIS SHOLUDERS THROUGH THE TABLE! WE ARE NOW GUARANTEED A NEW ECW CHAMP!!
9. RVD and Sabu are now battling it out to become the new ECW Champ. After these two battled it out, it seemed over as Sabu nailed a Triple Jump Moonsault, but Rob kicked out!! Sabu didn't know what he had to do, so he got the table that was set up in the corner, and placed it in the middle of the ring. Sabu then went to place Rob on the table, but Rob reversed, and picked up a chair, and nailed Sabu with a Van Daminator, which sent him on top of the table. RVD then climbed the ladder that was inside the ring that was set up, and delivers a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH OFF THE LADDER ONTO SABU THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

Winner and new ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam!

After the match, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman and PAUL HEYMAN come out and Sabu gets up, and they all raise each other's hands, while the crowd chants 'E-C-DUB!'.

WWE Championship: The long awaited battle between John Cena and Randy Orton has finally come, with Cena looking for revenge while Randy Orton looks to add another legend to his list. After about 15 minutes between these two, with each other using every move in his arsenal, the ref takes a bump after Cena attempted and F-U, but Randy swung his legs around and accidentally hit the referee. John saw what happened and let Pandy go, so Randy connected with a low blow, and then hit the RKO! Another ref came down and counted. 1.......2.........KICKOUT! Randy got frustrated and went outside and got a chair. The ref tried to stop, but Orton overpowered him and charged at Cena, but The Doctor of Thuganomics trips up Orton onto the chair, and LOCKS IN THE STF-U!!! Randy fights it, but he taps out! We have a NEW WWE CHAMPION!!!

Winner and NEW WWE Champion John Cena!!!

'Time to Play the Game' hits as Cena and HHH stare each other down to end the show!!!

I like the way you disband ECW by giving them one more champion then turning the title into the Hardcore Championship. I'm curious as to what you do storyline-wise and I'm looking forward to the fallout of No Way Out. Feel free to check out The Commencement if you like.

I will write the matches in full, but for No Way Out and Wrestlemania 24 I am going to write them like that, but at Wrestlemania, I will include me more detail. The weekly shows will probably be in extended recap, and the pay per views will be in full. Thanks for the comment!!!

I like this and it seems really good. I hope you stay with this thread for a while.

I was a little shocked to see Rock and Mick Foley back. Everything was going dead on in reality. Still great backstory, altough I don't like for Mania Edgeheads vs Batista and Mysterio, as Tista and Rey should have gotten singles matches, or at least MITB(not really, but hey, you put HBK in there). Also, I don' think Big Show and Hogan are 21 years in the making, or whatever you refer with 21 years on.

Except that, nice backstory, I enjoyed reading NWO and I will keep reviewing

WWE News and Notes

As announced by Mr McMahon on Raw last Monday Night, a Draft will start on the night after Wrestlemania 24. No one is exempt from the Draft, not even a champion. If a champion does get traded over, the championship will stay on it's original brand, and it will be deemed vacnt. The draft will go on for 4 weeks, and each brand will get one draft each week, but in the fourth week, the brand will get two picks. This is simlar to the draft in 2005.

Here are the dates for the picks:

Raw
31st March (1)
7th April (1)
14th April (1)
21st April (2)

Smackdown!
4th April (1)
11th April (1)
18th April (1)
25th April (2)

Don't expect a title change in the WWE Championship match thoug. As we know, John Cena can't dp anything wrong in Vince McMahon's eyes, and John Cena is expected to have another one year title reign, although most of the creative team disapprove of this idea. Triple H is said to be furious as he was supposed to win the title at the Royal Rumble.

Ric Flair is expected to lose at Wrestlemania this Sunday, as he said he always wanted to retire at Wrestlemania, although he did want HBK to end his career. Ric had requested one more title reign, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen, as Vince wants to end Ric's career, although Flair doesn't approve of it. But as we know, what Vince McMahon wants, Vince McMahon gets.

Hulk Hogan is expected to retire soon, so don't be surprised for him to go over Show. He has always wanted to work another program with Ric, and as we know, a Draft is coming up, so maybe this will enable a program with the two. But as we know, it is unlikely that Ric will even wrestle another match after tonight.

The two favourites for the Money in the Bank ladder match are HBK and Jeff Hardy. The WWE has wanted Jeff to have a title reign for the past year, but for some reason, they didn't put it on him at the Royal Rumble.

Finally, Jeff's brother Matt is expected to win his first ever United States Title this Sunday against MVP. Matt was of course supposed to win it at Armageddon, but because of his appendix, it was delayed.

Gerweck.Net will of course give you free play-by-play coverage of Wrestlemania 24 this Sunday. Stay tuned, as we will have more news during the week!

Big Show: Big Show returned on the edition after Hulk Hogan returned, destroying Hogan after he beat The Great Khali in what was truely a horrible match. A week later, Hogan accepted Big Show's challenge for a match at Wrestlemania.

Hulk Hogan: After being told he was cleared to wrestle, Hulk unfortunately came out of retirement and beat Khali with a leg drop, until being destroyed by the Big Show. Hulk was also destroyed 48 hours before their match for Wrestlemania after a huge chokeslam.

Mick Foley: Mick had appeared for the WWE at the Royal Rumble to team with Hornswoggle, and he also agreed to work for the WWE throughout 2008. Mick actually requested a match with the Rock, which turned into an on air storyline.

The Rock: The Rock returned on the episode after No Way Out on Monday Night Raw, teaming with Mick Foley as a mystery partner to win against Cade and Murdoch and in the process, win the Tag Team titles. Mick requested a match with The Rock, which the Rock reluctantly accepted.

Bobby Lashley: After quitting the WWE after they released his ex-girlfriend Kristal, Lashley broke up with Kristal and quickly signed back with the WWE. Lashley was then put into the Intercontinental title scene, feuding with the new champ Carlito, after Umaga came down to the ring and delivered a Samoan Spike to Jeff Hardy.

Also, the night after No Way Out when Mark Henry attacked Ric Flair by Mr McMahon's orders, Mr. Kennedy rushed down to the ring, and he actually saved Flair from the assault from Henry, effectively turning face..
