Might not be enough time so might have to do it next year, but Austin said this in 2013. Not sure if he needs that time now.

For Mania 28/29 he was probably imagining a legit match match and not the workaround they did with KO. He can probably do that with Punk in 4.

It better not happen, because if they'd do it, they'd do it at Mania and there it would be one of the most prolific matches of the weekend... which completely fucks, imo, with the whole idea of this being the very first Mania without Vince (apparently) being involved, which should be all about finally ringing in an actual new era.

People pissed on WWE so often over the last 10 years for relying on the past or on nostalgia too much (and rightfully so), so it's funny to me that way too many people would want this to go down. ...not even to mention, what has already been mentioned before, that Austin had the perfect final Match with Owens.

My other point was just I don’t personally want KO to be Austin’s final opponent. Again, the program was fine, but it wasn’t a dream to see it like the Punk match is for me.

And that's the exact point. It doesn't matter if it's Vince in charge or HHH, big money matches are big money matches. The same reason HHH would still do Rock/Roman if they could get it over the line.
