WWE Shutting Down Florida Championship Wrestling
Source: F4WOnline.com

WWE officials notified Bright House Network on Monday that they are shutting down their developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) effective immediately. The final FCW taping will air on the network in three weeks. The promotion was started by former wrestler Steve Keirn in 2007 and become the companies sole developmental promotion in early 2008 following the decision to cease affiliation with Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling.

Everyone involved with Florida Championship Wrestling will relocate to the home of WWE in Stamford, Connecticut while a decision is made on the future of developmental. It is believed WWE will open a developmental promotion in Connecticut with a second at an undetermined location.

What the fuck is the point of this? Developmental is developmental. WWE are real shit heads. Not to mention if they're opening a second one, why couldn't the Connecticut one have been the second? Stupid...

Stupid.

Out of nowhere news and I've just recently gotten back to loving FCW but opening one in Connecticut seems like a proper decision to me.

wow, this really is out of nowhere. With OVW attached to TNA now, gotta wonder what the hell they're going to do with all this talent sitting around.

Maybe this is a blessing, maybe the talent that is really truly ready will get sent to WWE just that much faster and can be on TV soon while the others just sit around and wait for awhile. But still shocking none the less that this happened.

I've just seen it described as "Triple H's first big move". Interesting times ahead...

They're cutting FCW at a time when it has one of it's strongest rosters to date? Bullshit decision. In my eyes, half of their future main event is there at the moment (Cesaro, Ohno, Steamboat, Rollins, Ambrose) and a lot of strong possible mid carders are wrestling for that promotion at the moment. Terrible, just terrible.

Well, maybe Hero, or I guess Ohno there will be brought up to the main roster. Along with some other talent. Maybe, just maybe it is a blessing in disguise.

Ohno's been on developmental for two weeks so, I doubt that they will bring him up. If anyone it will be Rollins and I'm not even sure if he's ready. I would consider Ambrose ready but, he hasn't done enough on FCW to warrant a move to the main roster.

He has been there for only 2 weeks, but he has been wrestling for how many years now? I think he could be deemed as ready by the top brass. Not saying he will be, but it may happen. You never know.

I doubt it. WWE killed any chance of giving Nigel McGuinness a contract because he refused to ever work in developmental. He is already quaified to be on the main roster though.

Sources within WWE are stating that there are no plans to shut down WWE developmental Florida Championship Wrestling.
As we wrote earlier, the TV series on Brighthouse Sports Network in Florida is coming to an end, but there have been discussions to move tapings to another location and network.

All FCW training is ongoing as scheduled today. Talents have been told there is nothing to worry about. All currently booked FCW events are still on as scheduled.

PWInsider

So I'm hoping this is true and they aren't going to shut down cause I'd hate to think what could happen to a lot of the talent that could become something some day in the WWE.
