We live in a culture where everyone is scared to say anything that might slightly offend. For example they want to ban calling it "Black Coffee" in case it offends black people so you see where the issue lies

Ive had this argument with numerous people on this site, and I always agree to disagree because we could argue forever about this. My thought has always been that, yes, a TV-14 rating doesn’t make or break wrestling whatsoever. However, it does give that extra edgy feel when it comes to stories and feuds, and you can push certain angles with a little more violence or personal attacks (brutality).

I look at it like why not do it? It’s going to help, not hurt anything when it comes to wrestling. But when you say that on these sites, people flip out and start talking about creativity.... creativity is subjective; furthermore, you’re only handing writers a couple more tools by adding a higher rating.

It would be like saying that every super hero movie could get away with being PG today and have the same “creative” feel. I don’t think they would be the same if they were PG. I feel that PG-13 enables them to get a more serious tone at times and show more intense scenes and violence.

In wrestling, I’d like to see that now and then. That’s all. And I’m sure people will disagree and that’s fine. But I think it’s just a nice option to have.

Huh. I don't fully agree with you, but that superhero movie analogy is one of the best arguments for this topic I've seen anywhere. I still think it doesn't matter because WWE will find a way to royally fuck it up, but like you said, agree to disagree

Also, they fired a mid carder in Brad Maddox for saying Prick on a house show, they're not going to go TV-14 any time this century.

Well at a recent House show Braun Strowman gave the middle finger to Roman Reigns for like a sec or two so they have gotten less strict, but I do agree Brad Maddox shouldn't have been fired

...The more I think about it, the more I watch ESPN and see how the world is now outside the wrestling bubble... I really wonder if this really is the best way for them to get mainstream relevance again. Go full counterculture. Embrace your notoriousness. Laugh at the social justice warriors and tell them you've got two words for them, yet again.

He used some slurs at a house show, but that felt to me like they wanted a reason to fire him more than a firable offense

Going TV-14 would not change a thing.

And writers who need to curse and go crude just for the sake of it aren't going to produce good enough content anyway

I think Raw is pretty good than before the writer of Raw is very good, but the one on Smackdown isn't that good IMO

Wrestling demographics is mainly adult males. They should totally have a wrestling program that's TV-14. It would be a hell of alot better than watching bayley come out and try to cut promos. Fuck that kid shit.
What's it like being so negative?
