You missed the point of the BRAND extension I see.

There was no point in it, they never had enough star power to do it, even before they did it during the Attitude era, that split was the end of that era.

When they split it, they had two brands... of WWE, just diluted. Hence why it sucked, we didn’t get full WWF anymore.

Two brands are WCW and WWF, not the brand split where we got Half WWE Red and Half WWE Blue

It was the same shit split in half with two different colors

It should also be noted, those logos and shirts were never intended for an invasion. Shane was supposed to launch the new WCW in June. That logo was supposed to be for Shane's WCW as was the ref shirts. The Invasion only took place because Vince got cold feet after a bad test match in Tacoma.

WWE refs also had those stripped shirts on, so how was the casual viewer gonna know the difference without someone that make their shirts more visually different?

Viewers aren’t stupid, they knew the difference between Nick Patrick and Earl Hebner.

They knew which referees worked for who, besides that the referees despite having black and white had the company logo on their patch.

Also makes them equal, rather than make it feel like a b show

That’s another reason Smackdown felt inferior.
