Doesn't really add anything to the segment and pulls you out of the moment I agree unnecessary.

I hate it as well. It's like the WWE are hoping for cheap pops but it never happens.

It is a bit pointless, the only reason I can think of doing it is to show fans that if they attend a show they won't miss anything.
