@Defiant would you be okay with a WM triple threat between them for the US title in your scenario?

I would rather see the split in a midcard title unification elimination chamber myself...

And if Reigns is the only one to leave the group, I would rather The ascension join The Shield than Mason "I wish I was Gannicus" Ryan.

...and that will be when I stop being a Shield Girl.

This made me think of somebody like Paige joining the Shield.

I do like the Ascension, maybe stick Shaul back with them again

Could be interesting to see them implode with Authority in the ring...

Maybe, depends how it would go down. I see how Triple H being part of it is sort of appropriate. I just want it to be about them and between them, though. Just a three-way showdown with no bullshit and no one stopping them from letting it all go.

No. No no no. The Ascension have something special with this gimmick. They do NOT need to fuck it up by trying to make the Hounds of Justice. These are the first guys I've watched that actually look legit with this "Darkness" angle since the Undertaker debuted. I want WWE Eye of Horus merch all over the fucking place. I want dark, scary vignettes. i want these guys to be a big deal when they debut.

I also want them to get a better team finisher than Total Elimination or whatever they're calling it.

I'm all for this, Reigns is definitely a star and WWE have big plans for him, Shields just holding him back. If the group splinters there's no way that all three will be used well. I dont really care for Ambrose or Reigns but if The Shield ends and all three guys are solo stars there's zero chance all three guys will be pushed, one at absolute most, this is the WWE after all. I doubt they could manage booking Batista, Brock, Taker, WWE Title feuds, Authority angle and 3 members of the Shield now gone solo. An implosion also robs the fans of seeing them get their comeuppance, all heel stables need to be disbanded by faces, to pay for their wrongdoing, booking 101. This way Reigns can break away and Rollins/Ambrose can stay relevant and Mason can become relevant.

Would be hilarious if Mason became crazy over and became the star of Shield 2.0, considering Ambrose and Rollions were largely dubbed future stars and Reigns was just the meathead.

Yeah that leads to an incident where some wrestler punches a grabby fan to protect her

No thanks. What makes The Shield so good is the current three guys and how they work so well together and the chemistry between them. To just add someone in would make it a joke. As Dale said, just let them go their separate ways.

I don't think it'd be detrimental to Rollins or Ambrose, but I still don't think it'd work out very well either. Although Reigns was just the brute of the group, it doesn't mean he wasn't a huge part of it. It's been the individuals in the group who's made The Shield what they are, not just the name.

It's like seeing a big character in a TV show and get replaced with someone else. It can be fine, and can still have the other characters to help carry them through, but normally it just isn't the same. If WWE think they're going to get the same amount of crowd reaction and success with Mason Ryan in the group they're wrong.

Still stand by my original point, but I'd like to throw Camacho's name into the hat after seeing him these past few weeks on NXT against The Ascension.

It's not even that I think it'd hurt Rollins or Ambrose any, it'll hurt The Shield. I don't want to risk diluting the group by adding anyone, especially someone that could flop pretty hard. I'd rather them implode like @Defiant mentioned and then go their separate ways, even if that turns into Ambrose or Rollins, or even Reigns if he ends up not cutting it, not going anywhere.

I would not use Mason, but I know I would use Russev as the muscle to Ambrose and Rollins.
Caught all up on NXT so I'm familiar with Rusev now and obviously has has the standard muscle guy look, but surely you wouldn't bring him up in his current gimmick? The basics of him remind me of a non-tribal? version of Umaga and if he stay as he were would look totally out of place so I think whoever comes into the group (providing they go ahead with this) should take on the Shield look which is why I think Camacho is a good, outside choice.
