I'm still a fan of Kofi don't get me wrong but I don't see the point of him winning the IC.

I wouldn't mind Orton or someone else getting a shot, pretty crap competitors. Why is Darren getting a shot and not Titus?

Bit weird but either way as much as I love Kofi I feel he doesn't need a rematch at all. Orton could put prestige and legacy into that championship.

I'd love for Orton to win it, could really bring the title up a good bit in prestige. Would be a fresh change as well.

As everyone else said Orton winning would be a nice change in the IC title scene but we have seen Barrett-Orton before.

Oh my god, I swear if WWE tries to pawn Cesaro vs. Orton on us AGAIN sometime in this cup...They have faced off like 5 times in a like a 3 week time period and they don't even have a feud going on. Just lazy booking.

I really like this idea because it creates an actual division for the title. Too often for the midcard titles there is just the one person chasing the title which makes the title seem unimportant. This way with eight wrestlers all fighting it out to get a shot at the champion it makes the title look more important. I like the fact that Orton, Cesaro and Ziggler are in there, it adds a lot of credibility and star power to the tournament. It shows that the IC title is something that all wrestlers want to chase not just midcarders. Darren Young is the odd one out here but I can't see him advancing at all.

I don't really mind who wins this tournament as there are plenty of good options there. It is strange that this tournament is happening right around the time Bo Dallas managed to eliminate Barrett from the Rumble and beat him clean on RAW. There is a lot more they can do with that angle but it will presumably take a backseat to this tournament.

I wouldn't be against Orton winning it, but it was an IC title reign that propelled him to fame in the first place, why would he take a step backwards? Now, after becoming a nine time world champion.

But yes, the very valid point is that Orton competing for the title would prove that it is a valued prize after all.

Maybe Orton wants revenge on Barrett or maybe he wants to bring back prestige to the title? They have feuded before and they could always go back to that with Orton wanting to take the title from Barrett to bring back some prestige to the title. Orton could say that he made the title bigger when he was champion and now Barrett is destroying that legacy so Orton is back to save the day and take the title back. There are a few ways they can go about it.

Thinking like this is what WWE needs to do more of to engage fans in desputes, it makes the characters more human and well rounded, not just with the same motivations all the time.
