Yeah because John Cena saying "fudging" wasn't the stupidest thing ever.

Even with a TV-14 rating, he wasn't gonna say "fucking" or anything heavy like that.

But with how bad the writing can be a lot of the times, you're worried about Cena saying "fudging"?

The problem has never been the rating. The switch from TV-14 to TV-PG happened in when...middle of 2008? It's not as if things were amazing in 2007 or years before. Based on several interviews with former writers, most of the time the WWE wasn't even writing TV-PG, but TV-G, so they knew they were following the guidelines.

It all comes down to the writing though. The entire period from when Vince Jr. took over in 1983 until the Attitude Era began was all basically TV-PG. Yet, the WWE made some things works (Including a gigantic boom). Things like Cena writing "Poopy" on JBL's limo wasn't a product of the TV-PG rating. It was a decision made by the creative. Things won't magically improve with a rating change.

Do you know what TV-14 really means? It merely means the ability to show middle fingers, have a few tame cuss words, show your women in degrading positions, ramp up the sex and increase the violence just a tad. How does any of that improve the quality of the show? I mean hell, at the height of the Attitude Era, channels like TSN in Canada and Skybox in the UK would edit the hell out of the shows to remove the TV-14 elements. So it's not as if you can't have a popular worldwide company without TV-14.

Bring blood back, throw in a few curse words here and there.

Even that will help the show a little

Did I say bring back the Attitude Era? That's impossible because of the different wrestlers. But in 2011, when Punk was cursing at Johnny Ace that was good tv. When Cena was cursing at the Rock that was good tv. When Cena was bleeding at the hands of Lesnar that was good tv.

so you want them all in the ring with knives, spears, and Lions. You basically want a Gladiator fight.

The one thing that would be appealing is blood. It's not something that needs to happen every week, but look at how many dangerous gimmick matches the WWE has. Elimination Chamber, TLC, Money in the Bank, Steel Cage, Tables, Chairs and a wide variety of other kinds. To have such dangerous matches without either guy losing a drop of blood is unrealistic. The whole reason you do blood in those matches is to put the match over as being so much more dangerous. Think of some of the most iconic images in wrestling history. Austin trapped in the Sharpshooter at Wrestlemania. Mr. McMahon lifting his head above the ring apron in Seattle. Any of the classic images of Ric Flair's platinum locks now crimson red. The blood helped tell a story that couldn't have been told without it.

Blood can really help a great moment become an iconic one. And that's just talking about classic non-gimmick matches. A cage match without blood is like watching a porno without a money shot. Something's missing.
