They drive the storylines for the matches (sometimes), sure, but all I care about these days is the actual match itself. Who wins is secondary to how good the performance is, if that makes sense? I mean, Lesnar/Punk didn't need a title to be amazing, nor did Lesnar/Cena for that matter.
Now that I think about it, maybe they will take the belt off Cena tonight since the rumoured Lesnar/Cena match at SummerSlam definitely wouldn't need a title to be great.
I liked Kane back in the day, and when he was the authority's enforcer, but he shouldn't be near the title scene these days.[/COLOR]
I definitely agree that a match doesn't need the belt to be great. I've said this many times actually when saying why Cena didn't need it to get his pushes.
BTW I enjoy matches more than the wins, too, most of the time.
Punk and Lesnar for instance was one of the best matches ever, and even as a Punk fan, I cheered Lesnar when he won.
I'm not too worried at this point if Cena uses the belt or not against Lesnar, but it would make more sense why it happens if Lesnar wants it.
Can't say I'd be sad if Reigns wins his moment tonight, and Lesnar just wants a rematch to get his win back. It can write itself almost.
I don't mind Kane, since it makes sense in the story. Just keep the belt off him...
