WWE announces Survivor Series set for Chicago

I would say if anything Survivor Series has become much more important in the last like 7 years than it was for a lot of the late 2000s early 2010s. We got Lesnar/Goldberg there, annual battles between World Champions, the return of War Games... I see why you'd consider Blood Money from a business POV but a lot of people skip those shows tbh and I would say they've been loaded with a ton of inconsequential shit over the years that you wouldn't have seen on the "traditional" big 4.

I would consider MITB the 5th ''big four'' fwiw but I don't really consider these international shows as part of a longstanding history. they are big by definition, but they are not a yearly occurrence. FWIW this is also the PPV where even tho ive joked about it, the champ doesn't need to defend the title

I still disagree its not taken seriously most years too, been a few flubs but SS build gave us Man Becky, gave us AJ Brock and some other classics. I think HHH sees it as a big deal, I think Vince was running out of ideas

WWE themselves know they don't need to make the Blood Money shows anything that the average fan is gonna have investment in. As long as it's what the Saudis are asking for, they can do any type of shit and then just act like it never happened afterwards

SaudiMania has become real PLEs in the past like 2 years, before that they meant fuck all. I get people skip it for personal reasons but now that it's a real PLE and it feels like a much bigger show.

And I laugh because the prevailing thought with Survivor Series when it was Raw vs. Smackdown was that the next night it meant nothing. But now we talk about battle of World Champions meaning something. I was there in 2021 when Big E Wrestled Roman Reigns. It meant less than nothing and that show as a whole meant jack shit and the shows the years prior meant the same.

I’d definitely say the mitb PPV. Between the implication the winner of the briefcase holds to the following year of television and history of the event. Dating back to at least when they did Cena and Punk in 2011 and definitely since.

I will say trooper’s right about that last thing. The last two calendar years being 2022 and 2023 the Saudi show replaced whatever that month’s original pay-per-view was going to be (and I don’t use that PLE nonsense).
