Smackdown Live
January 29th 2021

Scottrade Center

Smackdown starts with a cold open and we can see THE MYSTERIOS walk through the back ready for action when they are stopped for an interview by KAYLA BRAXTON! She asks them how they feel about fighting for the WWE tag team titles to open the show. REY MYSTERIO says fighting by the side of his son is the highlight of his career and he wants to keep fighting with him. DOMINIK MYSTERIO says his dad has taught him everything he knows and he will bring gold to the family before walking to the ring and we cut to the opening video.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HALESTORM – MAYHEM
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*BOOYAKA 619*

THE MYSTERIOS get loud cheers as they make their way out to the delight of the live crowd to start Smackdown off. REY MYSTERIO touches masks with a few fans in the front rows before heading to the ring. DOMINIK MYSTERIO follows his father to the ring and has a smile on his face. The commentary team says they can make history tonight to become the first-ever father-and-son tag team champions.

*HEAVY*

HEAVY MACHINERY
make their way out to the ring getting loud cheers from the live crowd. OTIS DOZOVIC and TUCKER KNIGHT lift their tag team titles in the air. The commentary team puts them over as fighting champions who will take on all comers. They also talk about the size difference between the two teams with Tucker choosing to start for the tag champions while Dominik Mysterio starts for the challengers.

Match 1: WWE tag team titles match: Heavy Machinery © vs The Mysterios

Match summary:
Dominik seems to be in a bit over his head during this match and struggles to compete with the larger tag team champions who toss him around. Dominik is able to get to the corner of the ring and makes the tag to his dad who comes into the match not only using his speed but his veteran experience to overwhelm Tucker and Otis. The commentary team notes that Rey is using their size against them and is showing his son how it is done.

As the match is going on, the power and size of Heavy Machinery start to control the match, battering both father and son. Rey Mysterio gets a hot tag and looks like he might be able to win the match for his team but the teamwork of Heavy Machinery keeps them alive in the match. Dominik Mysterio makes the tag and comes back into the match to try to save the match but in the end, the duo hits THE COMPACTOR! Otis makes the cover and wins the match.

Winners via pinfall and still WWE tag team champions: Heavy Machinery (9:26)

Heavy Machinery get to their feet and celebrate a big victory tonight as the commentary team puts over how close The Mysterios came to winning the tag team titles. The father and son duo get to their feet getting loud cheers from the fans as the champions show the challengers respect for their performance tonight. The Mysterios head up the entrance ramp leaving the ring to the champions… JACOB FATU ATTACKS THEM FROM BEHIND TO LOUD BOOS FROM THE CROWD!

Jacob takes advantage of the fact that The Mysterios just went through a tag team title match and lays a beating on the pair of them. He picks both of them up and slams them around for fun. Heavy Machinery gets ready to help them but is attacked by two men in black hoodies and bandanas holding steel chairs. They lay a beating on the tag team champions before pulling down their bandanas…

IT’S THE USOS!
The crowd loudly boos as JEY USO makes his return after being injured for the last month. JIMMY USO carries on talking trash and mocks the fans before Jey grabs the WWE tag team titles, passing one to his brother. The Usos hold the tag team titles into the air soaking in the boos from the live crowd as the commentary team wonders if this is a sign of things to come…

*METALINGUS*

EDGE’S MUSIC HITS! The crowd goes wild as Jacob Fatu turns towards the entrance ramp ready for a fight whilst The Usos get ready to fight Edge too… BUT HE COMES THROUGH THE CROWD WITH A STEEL CHAIR AND CLOBBERS THE USOS! He wipes the pair out, clearing them from the ring and Fatu turns around to see him full of anger. Fatu storms to the ring ready to climb in…

*SEXY BOY*

SHAWN MICHAELS WALKS OUT!
He tells the duo to stop right now which Fatu pauses for a moment before climbing into the ring and going after Edge anyway! The two men brawl in the middle of the ring and Shawn sighs saying that he is going to have this match later in the night but if they want to brawl now, get the referee back in the ring and call for the bell. The brawl carries on as Shawn tells the referee to pause as he has one more announcement, BANNING EVERYONE FROM RINGSIDE! Fatu and Edge brawl in the ring as we cut to a commercial break.

Match 2: Edge vs Jacob Fatu

Match summary:
When we return from the commercial break, the match is underway and both men are beating the shit out of each other brawling around ringside and in the ring. Edge tries his best to keep up with Fatu but the Samoan Werewolf just tosses him around with ease. Edge knows he is in trouble the longer the match goes and the commentary team watching speculate about who could actually stop Jacob Fatu inside the Royal Rumble if a 12-time World Champion like Edge is struggling.

Edge makes a slight comeback and uses his veteran experience to get Fatu on the mat, trying various chokes and submissions to bring a stop to the Samoan Werewolf but he refuses to go down! Jacob Fatu is in total control as the match comes to an end and even avoids a SPEAR attempt from Edge jumping over it! Edge turns around and gets clocked with a SUPERKICK! Jacob Fatu heads to the top rope and climbs up top before hitting the MIGHTY MOONSAULT!

Winner via pinfall: Jacob Fatu (10:14)

Boos ring out but not as many as before the match, with a lot of the crowd almost in shock that Jacob Fatu was able to defeat Edge tonight! The commentary team puts over how big a win this was for Fatu, doing it clean as a whistle and showing he is a true force of nature on the Smackdown roster. Edge rolls to the outside of the ring and takes a moment to contemplate what just happened. We then hear coughing coming from the titantron and the camera pans up to show…

BUDDY MURPHY stands in front of the camera looking slightly smug. He tells Jacob Fatu he has a message for his leader Roman Reigns. He points at JEY USO already laid out on the floor as BIG CASS CHOKESLAMS JIMMY USO ON THE HARD CONCRETE FLOOR! Buddy says the Bloodline might think they run things but this is still The O.C.’s clubhouse. Jacob Fatu looks furious and goes to head up the entrance ramp AS EDGE SPEARS HIM!

Loud cheers from the live crowd as Edge stands tall over Fatu… FINN BALOR CLOBBERS HIM FROM BEHIND! The chaos carries on! The crowd loudly boos Finn Balor who puts a series of stomps on Edge. Fatu meanwhile in the background rises to his feet… BUT AJ STYLES HITS A PHENOMENAL FOREARM DROPPING JACOB FATU! Finn Balor and AJ Styles for the first time in months look at each other with a smile and Too Sweet each other as Smackdown Live cuts to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, DANA BROOKE is shown backstage with a smile on her face. She tells the camera that Shawn Michaels has just told her she has a spot in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday! She says people online will hate this news because she never gets enough respect from the fans. She promises to win the Rumble and forces these fans to respect her before we cut to the ring.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*THE FUTURE (V2)*

ASUKA
makes her way out getting loud cheers from the live crowd. She raises the WWE Women’s title into the air and has a confident smile on her way to the ring. Corey Graves makes a point to list the people who have actually defeated Asuka over the years. Byron Saxton counters that Conti has caused upsets in the past, highlighting her win over Sasha Banks and eliminating her from the Royal Rumble. Asuka climbs through the ropes and stands in the ring with a microphone in hand.

Asuka tells the fans she runs this division and runs this roster, promising that no one is truly ready for her no matter how much they deluded themselves. The crowd is still loudly behind her as she talks about Conti giving her challenger respect but tells the fans she is not ready for her. She lifts the title into the air and says she is on another level, a level Conti is not yet on. She tells the camera there will be no fairytales and no upsets this Sunday.

Asuka is then interrupted by TAYNARA CONTI appearing on the titantron next to her tag team partner XIA LI! Both women look like they have just finished working out, with Conti fist-bumping her close friend. She looks at the camera telling Asuka she has heard what she has to say and she is sick of the disrespect from the champion. She tells Asuka she would have once been an unproven challenger and be the one being looked down upon. Asuka smirks saying no one smart underestimated her.

Conti tells Asuka that underestimating her is not smart either and promises that Asuka will soon learn that. Asuka says she can try and Conti weirdly responds by talking about the training with her tag team partner… THE CROWD SEES HER SNEAK UP BEHIND ASUKA AND TAKES HER DOWN WITH A KICK TO THE HEAD! She grabs the champion who has dropped the WWE Women’s title onto the mat and DD-TAY ONTO THE WOMEN’S TITLE!

Taynara Conti smirks, getting a mixed reaction from the live crowd but it leans towards cheers due to how cocky Asuka has been. Conti grabs the microphone and tells Asuka she is more than ready… BITCH! She tosses the microphone down to the mat and leaves the ring posing as she backs up the entrance ramp. The commentary team wonders if Asuka’s hubris might cost her but in the ring, we cut to a shot of ASUKA SMILING AS SHE STARES DIRECTLY AT CONTI whilst we go to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, NOAM DAR and KENNY WILLIAMS are shown backstage with angry looks on their faces. They talk about the disrespect shown to them by Bad Bunny last week and the general Smackdown roster, saying they should be treated like the stars they are! Dar promises to make the singer pay at the Royal Rumble before winning the entire Royal Rumble match. Kenny Williams brings up his loss last week calling it a fluke and challenges Alpha Academy to a tag team match on next week’s Smackdown Live!

*FALLING FROM THE SKY*

MILLIE MCKENZIE
makes her way out getting a decent pop from the live crowd as she heads to the ring. She keeps focused and doesn’t pay much attention to the fans at ringside. The commentary team mentions Charli Evans has taken the week off to heal from the injuries sustained in her match with Deonna last week. Millie paces around in the ring waiting for…

*THRONE OF GOLD*

DEONNA PURRAZZO
walks out! She soaks in the boos from the live crowd and shows off her NXT Women’s title with a smug self-assured smirk. She places it back onto her shoulder before turning to the fans and making her disdain for them clear, gesturing with her hands pushing from her neck. The commentary teams put over her intelligence and cunning, saying she knows how to pick her opponents apart in the ring. Deonna stands across from Millie as the referee calls for the bell to get the match underway!

Match 3: Deonna Purrazzo vs Millie McKenzie

Match summary:
Deonna and Millie find themselves easily matched early on with neither woman really able to get an edge over the other. The commentary team gives Millie credit for having the technical ability to keep up with the NXT Women’s Champion but Deonna shows there is only one winner when it comes to the mat in the ring with her. Millie is smart enough to realize she has to change her game plan so starts to go for suplexes and strikes, tossing Deonna around the ring!

Deonna is in pain and struggles to overcome Millie who has found a winning plan… UNTIL DEONNA WORKS OVER HER RIGHT ARM! Deonna wisely targets the right arm in a relentless fashion to slow down not only the strikes of Millie but also to cut off the power of the suplexes she is performing. Deonna in the end catches Millie going for one too many German suplexes and transitions into THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT (Cradle belly-to-back inverted mat slam)! Deonna makes the cover and picks up the win!

Winner via pinfall: Deonna Purrazzo (7:21)

Deonna gets to her feet with a smug smirk on her face, now with another victory on Smackdown Live and gaining a ton of momentum ahead of the Royal Rumble this Sunday. The commentary team puts over both women but says that Deonna might be a dark horse to win the whole thing. She taunts the fans some more as she walks up the entrance ramp with Millie McKenize looking annoyed clutching her arm before we see…

ROMAN REIGNS ENTERING THE ARENA!
He is walking through the backstage hallway with his suitcase in hand as KEVIN PATRICK stops him for an interview. He asks the Tribal Chief if he saw what happened earlier tonight and Roman looks confused. Kevin tells him that The O.C. had left the Bloodline laying and this clearly pisses off Roman who barges past Kevin heading into the arena as Smackdown Live cuts to a commercial break!

*SHADOW OF DOUBT*

BUDDY MURPHY
makes his way out as Smackdown Live returns from the commercial break with a smug smirk on his face. The crowd boos him on the way to the ring though there are some cheers with some fans preferring the O.C. over the Bloodline. The commentary team says Buddy Murphy wanted revenge for what the Bloodline did to him and the O.C. a couple of weeks back. The duo however wonders if all Buddy would have achieved is pissing off Roman Reigns!

Buddy Murphy stands in the ring with a microphone in hand and a smirk on his face as he looks out into the crowd. He tells the fans that tonight was a sign of what’s to come. Murphy promises that the O.C. are this close to taking over Smackdown Live and they showed The Bloodline who is really on top of Smackdown. He knows that Roman is going to react but he doesn’t care as he dares him to come to the ring. Buddy sticks his arms out as…

*FIGHT*

KEVIN OWENS COMES OUT INSTEAD!
The crowd loudly cheers for Prize-fighter who points at Buddy in the ring and says he would gladly have his back right now when it comes to fighting Roman. He tells Buddy however he chooses to get into bed with someone like Roman and pays the price for it. A scowl appears on Buddy’s face as he points out Owens working with Roman to fight The Corporation. Owens shakes his head saying this was before Roman showed his true colors.

Buddy says if Owens was smart he should have seen it coming but Kevin says he could say the same thing to Buddy. The two men scowl at each other as the tension between title rivals is clear. Owens even shows respect to Buddy and says he thinks he is a future champion but right now he is the 3rd wheel in Styles and Balor’s lovers tiff! Buddy gets right in Owens’s face and tells him that he is no one’s third wheel and refuses to be treated with disrespect by him! Owens tells him to do something about it but then…

*HEAD OF THE TABLE*

ROMAN REIGNS MARCHES OUT!
He has an angry glare on his face and a microphone in hand pointing directly at Buddy Murphy. He tells him that the Bloodline put him in his place but it seems they didn’t beat enough sense into Murphy so it’s time he finishes the job. He drops the microphone and climbs into the ring brawling with Buddy Murphy! The two men lay into each other as Kevin Owens watches on with a smirk, in no rush to help either man. Roman drops Buddy and turns around to see Owens. The smile fades, Owens brawls with Roman too until…

*ROOT OF ALL EVIL*

ALEISTER BLACK RISES FROM THE DEPTHS!
He doesn’t waste any time and sprints down the entrance ramp with his Universal title around his waist heading straight into the ring. Black joins in with the brawl and the chaos carries on with all 4 men fighting each other. SHAWN MICHAELS appears at the top of the entrance ramp and sends security guard after security guard to break up this fight. In the end, it takes 20 men but they separate the 4 men getting them to a corner each as Corey Graves sends us to a commercial break.

She looks devastated before ripping off the cover and telling the camera that she is going to do it on her own. Billie says she will win the Royal Rumble and then win at WrestleMania 37 making it Iconic for Peyton!

*EL GRITO DE METALIK*

GRAN METALIK
makes her way out getting a decent pop from the live crowd. He slaps the hands of the fans before leaping into the ring with a slight smile on his face. Corey Graves says Gran Metalik has been proving himself last year on Smackdown and has impressed a lot of people this year. Byron Saxton brings up his NXT Cruiserweight title reign and him being a fighting champion, taking on all challengers.

*ELITE*

CHAD GABLE
makes his way out with KURT ANGLE and holds his United States title into the air for the fans to cheer loudly. A 2-time United States Champion and he puts the United States title onto his shoulder. Byron Saxton says Chad Gable came out of his rivalry with Finn Balor, holding the United States title once again and he looks to get back to being a fighting champion. Corey Graves says Gable will have to be careful because Metalik wrestles a different style than he is used to. Gable enters the right and shakes hands with Metalik before the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway.

Match 4: United States title match: Chad Gable © w/Kurt Angle vs Gran Metalik

Match summary:
Gable in the opening stages tries to bring the match to the mat but Metalik is too quick and overwhelms Gable with his speed, catching him off-guard. Gable ends up outside the ring and talks to Angle who offers some advice on how to turn the tides… METALIK DIVES OVER THE ROPES AND WIPES THEM BOTH OUT! Metalik gets back to his feet and gets loud cheers from the crowd as he dazzles them even more with a ROPE-WALK INTO A SPRINGBOARD HURRICANRANA!

Gable turns the tides by going after Metalik's legs with a series of CHOP BLOCKS! Gable looks to go for the ANKLE LOCK on several occasions but Metalik has done his homework having the move scouted! Gable looks to keep the pressure up and finally gets the move locked in! Metalik is in a ton of pain… BUT USES A LOOSE BOOT TO SLIP OUT! Gran Metalik hops back to his feet and slightly limps due to the damage done to his ankle throughout the match. He walks over to Gable and the two men shake hands once again as Smackdown goes on a commercial break.

We return from the commercial break to see the towering presence of BRAUN STROWMAN standing in front of the camera with a snarl on his face. He tells the fans that he hasn’t been on Smackdown as he has been preparing to toss man after man after man after man out of that Rumble. Calling himself a true monster among men he says there is no one bigger and more powerful than him, even werewolves like Jacob Fatu. He says anyone who wants to try to stop him this Sunday will get these hands!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to KAYLA BRAXTON standing backstage ready for an interview and she welcomes her guest at this time ZELINA VEGA! She is not alone however as she is joined by her Smackdown clients SHINSUKE NAKAMURA and DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC. Shinsuke has a smile on his face whilst Dijakovic looks a lot more serious. Kayla starts it by asking Zelina how she feels ahead of her tag team match on the pre-show. Zelina smiles saying the Twisted Sisters can speak all their riddles but she is a winner and she only surrounds herself with winners.

Kayla then changes the subject to the Royal Rumble and what is her plan with 3 of her clients in the match including Andrade Cien Almas. She smiles and says it doesn’t matter who wins as long as one of her clients wins. Nakamura nods but Dijakovic doesn’t seem to agree. He is about to speak when DANIEL BRYAN walks into the shot with a smile on his face. He tells Zelina that she can hope for her clients to win but he knows that he is going to win the Rumble!

Zelina says her clients will stop him and brings up Nakamura defeating Daniel Bryan last year. Bryan smirks saying there is no John Morrison around to help him this time and if he wasn’t about to kick someone else’s ass, he would gladly kick theirs. Dijakovic says why wait and steps forward ready for a fight… AS THE REST OF ALPHA ACADEMY APPEARS TO BACK UP BRYAN! Zelina gets her clients to back off with Daniel Bryan walking off for his match up next.

*FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES*

DANIEL BRYAN

Corey Graves says Daniel Bryan is one of the best wrestlers of all time but has never won the Royal Rumble. *DEAD SILENT*

KARRION KROSS MARCHES OUT!
He gets loud boos from the live crowd as he stands at the top of the entrance ramp and smirks looking at Bryan in the middle of the ring. The former WWE Champion turns around… AND NATHAN FRAZER USES THAT DISTRACTION TO SNEAK ATTACK HIM! He lays into Bryan as Kross chuckles on the ramp. The referee tells Nathan off but he threatens him so the referee calls for the bell to start the match.

Match 5: Daniel Bryan vs Nathan Frazer

Match summary:
Nathan keeps the assault going early on and takes full advantage of the distraction caused by the Devil of the Church of Seth Rollins. Karrion Kross takes his time but slowly walks over to the commentary desk. They welcome him to the desk and ask how he is feeling ahead of the Rumble. He comments that the devil comes for everyone and that everyone in the Royal Rumble match is in for a shock this Sunday as The Church will walk out the winner of the match.

Bryon presses what he means by that as the only member of the Church in the Royal Rumble so far is him. Back in the ring, Bryan lays into Nathan Frazer and the skill gap starts to become clear. Bryan stretches the young talent and looks to put him in as much pain as possible. Kross shows no concern but in the closing stages, it is all Daniel Bryan who puts Natan Frazer in the YES LOCK AND FORCES HIM TO TAP OUT!

Winner via pinfall: Daniel Bryan (8:42)

Daniel Bryan gets to his feet and celebrates the victory tonight. The commentary asks Kross for his thoughts and he responds saying he can enjoy this fleeting victory for now but the end is still nigh for him. RONDA ROUSEY!
She walks out getting loud boos from the live crowd before walking to the ring fist-bumping her close friend MARINA SHAFIR! She carries on walking to the ring and has a stare-down with the BOSS ‘N’ HUG CONNECTION. The commentary team says Ronda has made a bunch of enemies on the Smackdown roster, even more than Belair has managed to. Ronda stands across the ring from Belair as the referee calls for the bell to start the match off!

Main event: Lumberjill match: Ronda Rousey vs Bianca Belair

Match summary:
Ronda and Belair start the match off with a full-on brawl between them! Neither woman lets up until Ronda wins out, sending Belair out of the ring… FOR A BUNCH OF THE HEEL WRESTLERS AND MANDY ROSE TO STOP ON HER! The baby faces for the most part try to stop them and roll Belair back into the ring. Belair soon though takes control and tosses RONDA OUT OF THE RING CAUSING AN INVERSE WITH MANDY ALSO BEATING ON RONDA! This goes on for a while until both women fall out of the ring and the lumberjills keep attacking both women causing a no contest!

Winner: No contest (5:22)

The referee tries to get things under control but it is too late as the women carry on brawling all around the ring and inside the ring. The commentary team tells us this is a sign of what is to come this Sunday at the Royal Rumble as Smackdown fades to black.

- Lumberjill Match turns into absolute chaos to end the final go home episode of Smackdown...Royal Rumble is literally right upon us

- Daniel Bryan has to be the sentimental favorite in this Royal Rumble Match and him beating Church of Rollins member Nathan Frazier and then embarrassing Kross post match...yeah Bryan if he is gonna win this thing he's going to have to outlast 29 other men and he could be in there with Smackdown guys and RAW

- Braun Strowman has the record for most eliminations with 13 back in 2018 at Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi and he won that match so Strowman could win it all here

Fun Royal Rumble fact: Being a champion is a good sign for Mickie heading into this match as the previous Royal Rumble winners Becky Lynch and Asuka held a Women’s title before winning the Royal Rumble.
Current stories and feuds: Mickie James has reunited with her old rival Alexa Bliss on Raw and the two women have been a threat ever since looking to reach their former heights. Mickie in his prime never got the chance to fight in these matches, will she be able to turn back the clock and prove she still can compete with the best?

Millie McKenzie

Titles and accolades in WWE: None yet
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 0 (2021 will be their Royal Rumble debut)
Current stories and feuds: Millie has been in a mini-feud with Deonna Purrazzo on Smackdown due to her attitude and looking down on the Smackdown Live roster. Millie is very young but is someone who is seen to have a ton of potential. Will she fulfill that early and win this Sunday’s Royal Rumble?

Naomi

Titles and accolades in WWE: 2x WWE Women’s, Miss Elizabeth battle royal (2018)

Best Royal Rumble performance: (2019) Entered at 16 lasting 1 minute and 28 seconds with 1 elimination.
Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 1
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 8 minutes and 17 seconds
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Naomi has only picked 1 elimination in her Royal Rumble career which was Mandy Rose… leading to her eliminating Naomi out of spite!
Current stories and feuds: Naomi has had a new attitude ever since coming back from injury in 2020. She has joined the Bloodline bringing her husband Jimmy on board and Roman has told the group to bring gold back to them. Will she win the Royal Rumble this Sunday and follow Roman’s wishes?

Natalya

Titles and accolades in WWE: 1x WWE Women’s, 1x Divas, 2x Women’s tag team (2x Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke)

Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 5
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 1 hour 22 minutes and 48 seconds
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Natalya holds the longest time in a Royal Rumble for any woman so far lasting 56 minutes and 1 second in 2019.
Current stories and feuds: Natalya at Summerslam betrayed her best friend and tag team partner Beth Phoenix to join the MMA Horsewomen. Since then, she has won two tag team titles and been part of one of the most dominant forces on Raw. Will the fact that 3 of them are in the Royal Rumble give Natalya the edge she needs to go all the way?

Nia Jax

Titles and accolades in WWE: 1x Women’s Universal, Miss Elizabeth battle royal (2020)
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 2
Last Royal Rumble appearance: (2019)
Best Royal Rumble performance: (2019) Entered at 29 lasting 11 minutes and 59 seconds scoring 3 eliminations on the way to a final 3 finish.
Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 7
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 29 minutes and 55 seconds
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Nia is something of a Queenmaker in these matches with the winner of the two rumbles she has fought in being involved in her elimination: Asuka in 2018 and Becky Lynch in 2019
Current stories and feuds: Nia Jax has been on a run of form the last few weeks winning several singles matches in a row. Not many women can match the size and power of Nia Jax, can anyone stop her this Sunday or will she go onto WrestleMania 37?

Piper Niven

Titles and accolades in WWE: None yet
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 0 (2021 will be their Royal Rumble debut)
Current stories and feuds: Piper Niven has established herself on Raw after impressing in the Queen of the Ring by making the quarter-finals. She has shown to be a force and as powerful as Nia Jax. Will Piper run through the field on the way to victory in her Rumble debut?

Rhea Ripley

Titles and accolades in WWE: 1x NXT, 1x NXT UK
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 2
Last Royal Rumble appearance: (2020)
Best Royal Rumble performance: (2020) Entered at 7 lasting 31 minutes and 18 seconds scoring 7 eliminations breaking the record for a women’s rumble.
Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 10
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 39 minutes and 13 seconds
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Rhea Ripley holds the record for the most eliminations in a single Women’s Royal Rumble and the most in all Women’s Royal Rumble
Current stories and feuds: Rhea Ripley after losing her NXT Women’s title to Io Shirai would head to Monday Night Raw going on a tear. She has beaten everyone in her path and has her eyes set on Charlotte Flair, looking to avenge her semi-final loss in Queen of the Ring. Can Rhea Ripley carry on her rampage in this year’s rumble?

Ronda Rousey

Titles and accolades in WWE:
2x Women’s Universal, 1x WWE Women’s, 2x Women’s tag team (2x Shayna Baszler, Natalya, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke)
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 0 (2021 will be their Royal Rumble debut)
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Whilst she has never entered the Royal Rumble, ever since the Women’s Royal was created she has appeared in some form at every Rumble show. 2018 she debuted after Asuka’s victory whilst in 2019 and 2020 she defended her Women’s Universal title against Sasha Banks and Bayley respectively.
Current stories and feuds: Ronda Rousey has been leading the MMA Horsewomen since 2020 when they took over the women’s division until it all started to fall apart after War Games. Now the MMA Horsewomen are without any gold, can Ronda lead them back to the top of the Women’s division?

Ruby Riott

Titles and accolades in WWE: None yet
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 3
Last Royal Rumble appearance: (2020)
Best Royal Rumble performance: (2019) Entered at 18 lasting 13 minutes and 08 seconds eliminating 3 women.
Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 5
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 27 minutes
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Ruby Riott has done something no other woman has done: eliminate Becky Lynch from a Royal Rumble. In 2018 one of the two women Ruby was able to toss out was the Man herself! Since then, Becky Lynch won the 2019 and 2020 Royal Rumble.
Current stories and feuds: Ruby Riott has been desperate to finally win a title in WWE, something she has not managed to do as of yet despite coming this close on several occasions. She heads into the Royal Rumble more determined than ever and desperate to finally break her duck in 2021. Will 2021 be Ruby’s year?

Sasha Banks

Titles and accolades in WWE: 5x Women’s Universal, 1x NXT, Currently 4x tag team (3x Bayley, 1x Charlotte Flair), Women’s Money in the Bank 2019
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 2
Last Royal Rumble appearance: (2020)
Best Royal Rumble performance: (2018) Entered at 1 lasting 54 minutes and 46 seconds scoring 3 eliminations.
Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 4
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 59 minutes and 53 seconds
Fun Royal Rumble fact: Sasha Banks knows how to go deep in these matches no matter her entrance spot. She has always made it to the final 5 at least each time she has entered the Royal Rumble. In 2018 she made the final 4 before the Bellas tossed her out and in 2020 Taynara Conti eliminated her in a huge upset.
Current stories and feuds: Sasha Banks has helped defeat the MMA Horsewomen inside of War Games before taking the tag team titles from them with Bayley. The two stand atop the Women’s tag team division but always want more, will we see a blowup between the two friends or will Sasha tick off one of the few things she hasn’t done yet.

Shayna Baszler

Titles and accolades in WWE: 1x Women’s Universal, 2x NXT Women’s, 2x Women’s tag team (2x Ronda Rousey, Natalya, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke), Women’s Money in the Bank (2020)
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 1

Best Royal Rumble performance: (2020) Entered 13 lasting 11 minutes and 14 seconds eliminating 3 women.
Number of eliminations in Rumble history: 3
Total time spent in the Royal Rumble match: 11 minutes and 14 seconds
Fun Royal Rumble fact: They might be friends now but in last year’s Royal Rumble Shayna eliminated Natalya from the Rumble. Will she do it again to secure a victory?
Current stories and feuds: Shayna is far from happy coming off the MMA Horsewomen failing inside War Games and losing her Women’s Universal title to Charlotte Flair. Shayna desperately wants to get her hands back on the Women’s Universal title so everyone in the Royal Rumble could be in big trouble.

Tegan Nox

Titles and accolades in WWE: 1x Women’s tag team (1x Dakota Kai)
Previous Royal Rumble entries: 0 (2021 will be their Royal Rumble debut)
Current stories and feuds: Team Kick have established themselves on Monday Night Raw, mostly focusing on trying to get the WWE Women’s tag team titles back after holding them for the joint longest of any team (tied with the MMA Horsewomen) but an opportunity presents itself. If Dakota Kai beats Charlotte Flair and Tegan Nox wins the Rumble, we will get an all-Team Kick clash.

WWE title match:

Samoa Joe © vs Sami Zayn

Samoa Joe has been a dominant force since joining The Hurt Business with MVP leading him to victories over Brock Lesnar, John Cena and most recently Drew McIntyre for the WWE title. The King of the Ring stands atop Raw waiting for his next challenger and it was Sami Zayn who earned the shot at the Royal Rumble PPV. Sami comes into this match after recently losing his Intercontinental title to Swerve Strickland but he feels that reign proves he can make it to the top of WWE. Will Sami Zayn overcome the odds or will Joe crush his dreams?

Universal title fatal-4-way match:

Aleister Black © vs Buddy Murphy vs Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns

Aleister Black is never one to turn down a challenge but he might have bitten off more than he can chew with this one. On Smackdown Buddy Murphy, Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns were all arguing about who should fight Aleister Black next. The Dutch Destroyer would make it clear he wanted to avenge how he lost his title at Summerslam so accepted the challenge from all 4 for the Rumble. In the following weeks, the Bloodline and the O.C. would end up at war whilst Black and Owens would form a mini alliance. Who will walk out of the Royal Rumble as Universal Champion?

Women’s Universal title match:

Charlotte Flair © vs Dakota Kai

Charlotte Flair has been through a war to get her 9th Women’s title from Shayna Baszler and the rest of the MMA Horsewomen. However, she is now facing a different challenger at the Royal Rumble in Dakota Kai. One half of Team Kick, Dakota Kai beat Ruby Riott in a number one contender’s match to earn this title shot. An ally of Charlotte Flair’s in her war with the MMA Horsewomen the last few months, it is clear there is some tension on Charlotte’s part about defending her title against her ally. Will the Queen reign supreme this Sunday?

WWE Women’s title match:

Asuka © vs Taynara Conti

Asuka is once again at the top of the Smackdown Live Women’s division and she is as confident as ever! Asuka ended the reign of Ronda Rousey and has now ended the undefeated streak of Bianca Belair. Asuka looks as dominant as ever with her recent run of form through the Women’s division. Taynara Conti though has proven she can cause an upset at the Royal Rumble having eliminated Sasha Banks last year in the titular match. Asuka has been taunting Conti with claims of her not being ready, but the Brazilian Badass disagrees, prepared to take on the Empress. Will we see another Royal Rumble upset or will Asuka reign supreme once again?

Pre-show:

Trios match:

Mustache Mountain and Ilja Dragunov vs Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo and Jinder Mahal

Mustache Mountain asked for a match at the Royal Rumble pre-show after Lio Rush broke his nose on Raw two weeks ago and it meant Tyler Bate’s Cruiserweight title shot was delayed. Wade Barrett would make the call to give another man itching for a match on the Royal Rumble card a match and has announced Ilja Dragunov will team with Mustache Mountain to take on his rivals as of late in Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo. Jinder Mahal will team up with the Ungovernables after a payment from Zelina Vega. Will Mustache Mountain carry on their run of form with an unfamiliar partner or will The Ungovernables show their strength with the help of a former WWE Champion?

Singles match:

Xia Li vs Marina Shafir

Xia Li has been looking to prove herself on Smackdown with her tag team partner Taynara Conti getting a lot of the spotlight. Marina Shafir meanwhile has been overshadowed by the rest of the MMA Horsewomen who are entering the Royal Rumble. Shawn Michaels made this match to give both women the chance to prove themselves and promised the winner would get a reward. Who will win whatever Shawn’s reward is?

Tag team match:

Twisted Sisters vs Zelina Vega and Eva Marie

Zelina Vega said she feels she can take over the women’s division like her clients have taken over the men’s division over the last couple of years after her recent loss to Mandy Rose. She and Eva Marie issued a challenge which was soon answered by the Twisted Sisters! Isla Dawn would call it the season of the witch (even tho it is spring) and promise victory. Which tag team will put themselves in future tag team title contention?

Eight-man tag team match:

Alpha Academy, Gran Metalik and Rowe vs The Authors of Pain, Epico and Primo

Last but not least, Shawn Michaels announced a showcase match for 8 superstars from the Smackdown roster who will not be taking part in the Royal Rumble. On one side, you would have Alpha Academy members Daniel Garcia and Matt Riddle teaming up with former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Gran Metalik plus one-half of the War Raiders Rowe! On the other side, The Authors of Pain team with fellow former tag team champions Epico and Primo! Which team will win in this showcase match?

Gotta change up my Royal Rumble predictions especially because I changed my mind on a lot of them and also changed my mind of how matches will play out via match order too so:

Pre Show

1- 8 Man Tag- Alpha Academy (Daniel Garcia & Matt Riddle) w/Kurt Angle at their side, Gran Metalik and Rowe of the War Raiders vs Authors of Pain, Epico & Primo (Winners: Alpha Academy, Gran Metalik & Rowe)

2- Xia Li vs Marina Shafir (MMA Horsewomen) (Winner: Xia Li)

3- Mustache Mountain & Ilja Dragunov vs Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza & Jinder Mahal (Winners: Mustache Mountain & Ilja Dragunov)

4- Tag Team Match (closes pre show)- Twisted Sisters (Nikki Cross & Isla Dawn) vs The Ungovernables (Zelina Vega & Eva Marie) (Winners: Zelina Vega & Eva Marie; which puts them in the conversation for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship)

Main Show order change

1- WWE Championship (RAW)- Samoa Joe (c) (Hurt Business) vs Samoa Joe (Winner: Still WWE Champion Samoa Joe)

2- WWE Women's Championship (Smackdown)- Asuka (c) vs Tay Conti (Winner: Still WWE Women's Champion Asuka)

3- 30 Woman Royal Rumble Match (Winner: Bianca Belair; my prediction stays the same here)

- Shortest match on the card will be the WWE Women's Championship match on the Smackdown side of things; Asuka/Conti

- The Iron Woman of the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble Match because there will be only be 1 which will be Bianca Belair who enters at #2...the Iron Man of the Men's Royal Rumble Match is Daniel Bryan who enters at #1 and wins it becoming the 3rd man in Royal Rumble Match history on the Men's side to win from entry number 1

Btw for the surprise entrant you have to pick another woman, not the one you selected for the contest win
