That's exactly what I'm talking about. I think you like OPFO more, but for whatever you reason you feel the need to tell people you like Half Life better. I've never played either of them tbh, but I'm gonna guess Half Life is generally reviewed better by other gamers.

I do agree with you that I think a lot of people do this bc they want to be seen as having "right opinions" but I don't think that means that everyone does. I mean you gotta factor in everything from what mood you're in, who you're watching with and everything that I think it's fine to just accept that people can have these opinions and not question if they REALLY think something is better or not

You're looking as if it's a black and white issue: If you like x more, why aren't you playing it more than y? Could it be you like y more but want to keep appearances?

There's a myriad of reasons that one would play y over x even though it's not as good.

Take Mario and Zelda. I think Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time is a fantastic game, and miles better than Mario 64. But if I wanna play a game, I'm gonna play Mario 64 because it's more fun and doesn't eat up my time.

What if I think Schinder's List is better but I'd rather watch GOTG2 bc it's shorter and takes up less of my time
