Until after Mania season when it's time to cut people because of "budget cuts".

Old regime bud

Don’t know if you heard but they got bought out by a company that has money to spend

Yeah, that’s kind of the point of this article. That they don’t need to do budget cuts anymore.

WWE pumping more money out for contracts to keep top tier talent on the boat AND sweeten the bait for those AEW Talents, which contracts are running out, looks to me first and foremost that WWE (and the talent) knows exactly that they can't offer talent the same work environment and creative process and possibilities that other promotions can AND they can't count on "being the big dog" anymore, so they'll have to throw at them, what they actually can provide, cold hard cash.

I saw nothing about budget cuts being over , it just says they will b willing to pay top guys alot of money to stay. It's still a public company so I would temper expectations. Nick khan will still do his thing.

Meltzer’s direct quote is they don’t want anyone leaving.

It wasn’t specific to top guys. Now that doesn’t mean they won’t release people, but I don’t think they’re concerned with cutting people to save costs anymore.

That was a measure to be more appealing for a sale. Which has since closed.

Yeah that's not how I'm interpreting it. I think it's a philosophy on upcoming free agents. Cuts are a separate conversation altogether. So agree to disagree.

Fair enough, but if you’re willing to pay your talents then they should be no reason to cut anyone specifically for budgetary purposes. Completely different if you’re cutting them for creative purposes, though.

Either way, Melzer did say though they didn’t want anyone leaving. He was very specific to say anyone. So he could be wrong, but that’s what he was saying.

They cut people during the pandemic era when they were making "record profits" and essentially wasnt traveling outside of Raw/SD/PPV. Didnt they release guys like Wyatt and Strowman a couple years ago because they were making too much money as well? Regardless of who's at the top willing to spend money, at some point you gotta cut costs.

Exactly it's a publicly traded company. Hunter being head of creative suddenly stop quarterly earning calls

Yeah it's nonsense to think they won't cut talent. You have to every so often. If anything I hope they stop using the reasoning of "budget cuts" and just be honest and say creative has nothing for them. But a good business will fine inefficiencies and eradicate them.
